When is “After the holidays” ? (4 Viewers)

When someone says “let’s connect after the holidays.” Do they mean after Christmas or after New Years?

Holidays is plural. How is "after the holidays" going to be after just one holiday? The whole week from Christmas to New Years is reserved for family time, reconnecting with friends, and most white-collar offices are closed. People are traveling, skiing, and the kids are out of school. No one wants to be bothered with outside, non-personal stuff until schools are back in session and both Christmas and New Years are in the rear-view mirror.

After the holidays for friends means beginning of January. After the holidays for a companion means after Valentine's.
lol no it doesn't "the holidays" consists of the time period from Thanksgiving to New Years. Nobody says "the holidays" and thinks of Valentine's Day.

Edit: and I just answered my own question. After the holidays is after New Years Day. Jan. 2nd and beyond.

In brutal honesty—if I told a friend/customer/acquaintance that we should plan on hanging out after the holidays—and they texted me on January 2nd—that would be a red flag for me. “After the holidays” is generally a polite was of saying—the next few weeks are really busy for me. Messaging or calling them on the very first day after New Years to me would indicate that the person doesn’t seem to understand the concept of giving enough space. If somebody said “after the holidays”—do yourself a favor and reach out to them on or after around January 7th. A week after the “last holiday” seems appropriate and doesn’t risk raising any red flags imo.

It's after the weekend following New Year's day. January 6 or after.

You know I used to wait until after New years to call anybody, but now it's like everyone in town waits until after New years. So I think mid January is kind of money. What do you think?

Yeah, but after New Year's is enough not to look anxious.

Yeah, after New years is enough not to look anxious. But I think after flag day is kind of money.

Yep, if you call too soon you might scare off a nice baby who's ready to party

Well done, Flop.

Money.

I think I’m going to be in the minority here, but that movie always made me cringe. Even the parts that people thought were cool. They weren’t. Of course, that’s the point of the movie, but a lot of people didn’t take it that way.

And oh yeah, it’s probably January 6th in her world. When even the stragglers have taken their lights down.
