What about the idea where everyone chooses an artist and ranks their top 31? I liked that one also.

I would be willing to take everyone's artist preference list. Everyone gets their first choice, unless two or more people have it #1 and then I throw it into a randomizer. That could be real interesting.


After all the #1's are doled out, I go to the #2's on the remaining lists, and so on. You could leave a list of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50. Up to you. #Ranked Choice Voting

Shocking to me that Up On Cripple Creek didn't have other votes. OH was torn between that and The Weight. I bet it's a lot of people's second-favorite song from The Band.

My second favorite after The Weight is Ophelia. I especially love The Last Waltz version, which is a swinging good time.

As for what's next, other than the various countdowns and such that are already going on...covers thingie? It was mentioned, and I thought it sounded fun. We could do draft or countdown format, but did we do draft before?

I would not be able to volunteer for countdown duty for a while, if we went that direction. Any countdown would have to be in June.

Not going to lie, a little break would be nice lol. Not sure I'd be able to do playlists for anything till July. Bunch of travel and weekend stuff in May and June.

This is me - lots of travel in May/June, including my visit to the holy land (Liverpool). I can participate but not run anything for a couple of months.

Oooooo, I forgot about that. I like that one, too. A lot.

The US one was great because I kept up and contributed throughout. The British one less so because of the stresses on my time - felt more like a chore to find space to listen rather than just soaking it all in. Then this one was awful as my listening regressed from a chore to just too far behind to comment much. Due to all that I was planning on bowing out of music drafts for an indefinite period of time, but this is one that I would do since it'd a) require little effort on my part and b) allow me to fall woefully behind on listening while still being a relatively infrequent participant. Whoever runs the next one, please don't decision make based on me though.

Send in how ever many you like. I think some of the strategy would be to have 2 or 3 at the end of the list that aren't likely to be listed by others.

Oh, I can send in my list of artists any time. No problem on that. And once I have my artist, it won't be hard for me to come up with my songs*, so that's not a problem for me either. The movie stuff largely kept me away from this draft, but I was .

I think a few actually liked the Opeth picks. I think I saw them pop up on @Pip's Invitation posts a few times and a couple others. IF anybody is interested in exploring albums, most of the songs I took are from albums that are all clean lyrics and proggy. I think the hardest albums to choose from were Pale Communion and Sorceress, so I would start any adventure there.
