Where would you rank Hernandez among TE? (1 Viewer)

I've got him pretty high. He's a wr that is classified as a TE basically. He's definitely in the top 10 going forward. I'm not so sure the Moss thing does anything for him though. He's not used like Moss was used.

I was trying to gauge this as well. I have him in two redrafts as 2nd options. Is he top 5?

I was thinking he's about #6 or so. Gates, Clark, Finley, Keller, Davis ahead of him? Maybe put him at #5....

Top 10 in Dynasty, maybe top 5 by years end.. we'll see

Redraft, it's always hard to start a rookie with confidence but I'd like this guy in a situation where I didn't have any of the other top 10 guys

I find it mind blowing that Hernandez is only 70% owned in CBS leagues. He should be over 90 at this point.

He was already on pace for 1,000 yards and he should get a bump in targets. I hope he can muster 5-6 TDs the rest of the season.

Hmm, behinds Gates, Clark, Finley, Keller, VD, Z. Miller. 7th sounds like an appropriate spot to me in Non-PPR. I like him better than Cooley, Shiancoe, Gonzalez, Celek, and H. Miller. Shiancoe because I prefer yardage to random scoring, Cooley has been solid but not spectacular, Heath Miller should get a bump with Roethlisberger back but not big enough to beat Hernandez, and Celek's numbers should improve a little with Kolb under center but I don't think he'll reach 2009 levels. Gonzalez is the only other one I'd consider above Hernandez but I was never really high on the guy since Atlanta has always been about White and the running game unless the defense forces them to focus on Gonzalez. Hernandez only had one good game and has yet to score a TD so you have to reel in your expectations a little bit. He is getting more involved and I think it's almost guaranteed he'll have another couple of great games but he's mostly potential at this point and that's when people tend to get a little carried away in their confidence. That being said, I rostered him in all my leagues because his upside is huge and out of all the others, he seems like he has the best chance to hit top 5 numbers.

Anyone have him ranked ahead of Shiancoe?
I wouldn't rank him ahead of shiancoe simply because I'd expect shiancoe to finish with more td's.I want my te to score td's, not just get me 80 yds.
Addition of Moss will hurt Shiancoe production.
Not sure I agree with that.. Farve has never had trouble finding TE's in the past.. Seems like Moss might clear things up for "Shank" a bit, as teams knew he was one of Farve's favorite targets and could focus better on him without another legit receiving threat on the field.. Moss won't be the only one catching balls, and Shiancoe did just fine last year with Sidney Rice blowing up on the same field..

He's certainly still behind Gates, Finley, & Clark. I'd have to say that he's in the V Davis/Z Miller/Keller tier- so somewhere in the 4-7 range.

I'd much rather have Hernandez than Shiancoe or Celek.

I think Hernandez ends up with numbers pretty close to Finley in terms of yardage. Hopefully they both find the endzone.

Anybody able to move Hernandez in the last couple of days? Trying to gauge his value.

I offered him in a non-PPR to someone w/ terrible TEs for Torain but got shot down. I thought that seemed like pretty fair value.

With Santonio Holmes back and assuming Crabtree does something this year, I have Hernandez at #5 behind. Gates, Finley, Clark and Z. Miller.

The kid was already leading New England in receiving yards before the Moss deal. As a D-Coordinator, I'm taking away the best slot receiver (Welker) in football and seeing if the rookie can beat me. It sure looks like he's about to explode.

If he starts getting red zone looks, the sky is limit for this kid especially with Welker not 100%.

Hard to tell. He could be thrown to more often... or the defense could pay more attention to him without Moss on the field to account for.

All I know is the kid looks good and NE are one of those teams that they don't care what your past is - if you perform in the now you get featured.

Have not tried...but I've been contemplating trying to move Finley next week so I can roll with Hernandez. I think if you're looking to move Hernandez at this point, you've got to be fairly comfortable at TE already, so moving the bigger name should net you more value back.

here are some more guys who could catch 110 balls:

gates - 24 catches

pettigrew - 22 catches

z miller - 22 catches

finley - 21 catches

shockey - 20 catches

scheffler - 20 catches

keller - 19 catches

gonzalez - 19 catches

davis - 19 catches

gresham - 18 catches

watson - 18 catches

gaffney - 22 catches

amendola - 21 catches

by the way, when did 18 catches in 4 weeks ever project out to 96 catches in 16 games?
Ok let me re-phrase this - going forward he could be a 110 catch guy (Ie catch 6-7 balls a game).
dude, expect a calculator for xmas.pm mailing address, plz.
7 balls a game is 112 receptions.Ok your a little crazy - let me say than I think A Hernandez could be very very good for the rest of the year - I could see him catching 6-7 balls a game.

I think 110 balls have been caught about 20x in the history of the nfl, none of those seasons belonging to a te.who's a little crazy....?

serious question - what's 18 divided by 4?

eta: nm I found my answer in thread. it's 6.

thanks.

:excited: I like Hernandez, but this thread is getting silly.

I'm being offered Hernandez for Torain in redraft, TE not required, non-ppr. I need help at WR. I think it's close to a fair deal, but not sure I'm going to pull the trigger.
