Who's Up For Helping With A Footballguys Article On The Subscriber Contest Strategy? (1 Viewer)

Here goes, and these first words don't count...

QB - This contest scoring favors pocket passers. Last year Jared Goff finished QB6 with only 56 yards rushing and 0 TD's!
RB - Pick 2 of your favorite touch monsters to be your expected every week starters. Watch preseason and fill out bye weeks with a few hopefuls.
WR - Roster a mixture of target hogs and explosive speedsters, and if you they are both, even better. Points per $$, this is where you spend.
TE - The myth of rookie TE's taking years to develop is over. A rookie has finished TE1 the last 2 seasons. Take a chance.
K - All you need is a few kickers who don't lose their jobs midseason. Avoid the K's who are twice the price of others.
D - Don't just pick ones you think will be decent. Take the time to find the ones who play against subpar QB's and mesh their schedules.

I just went back and read mine from years ago. I am a broken record!

To get far in this contest, you need to
  • Spend as least as you can at QB to get adequate production. I try to take two midrange QBs that have good matchups when the other is on bye.
  • take 3 cheap kickers
  • take 1 decent defense and 2 cheap ones.
  • allocate as much as you can to RBs, WRs, and TEs. Mostly hammer midrange and lower tier players with a lot of upside.
  • Studs are generally too pricey in this format. They will always have a couple of bad weeks and you run the risk of elimination on those weeks.
  • Look for upside that isn't well owned. Hitting big on a player that won't be on many rosters is a big key to winning this contest.
