Why do most FF league sites not let you change line-ups (1 Viewer)

This is something that has puzzled me for a while.

Most leagues I am in expect owners to submit line-ups for Thursday's game but then allow us to make changes prior to Sunday 1pm as long as they don't involve the Thursday game players, obviously.

Why, then, can we not make changes involving ONLY players involved in the late games/MNF games AFTER the 1pm games have kicked off on Sunday, but before the late games kick off? Maybe there are some leagues where you can do that, but you can't in any of the five I'm in.

In other words, why can't we benefit from knowing the inactives for the 4.05/4.15 games like we can for the 1.00 games?

Much has been made about the problems involving owning a Broncos RB in recent years, and part of the problem is they are usually involved in late games. Although knowing the inactives wouldn't be a cure for those problems, at least it would help. Last Sunday it seemed half the pinned threads on this forum related to questionable-type players in late games.

My league allows changes up till the game time of the player selected. i.e. Two MNF TEs playng? You have up till 5 minutes prior to MNF to pick one or the other.

With CBSSportsline we can make lineup changes with players that haven't played. Add/drops after the first game can be done by the commish. I'd like to see it where add drops can be done with players that haven't played yet without the commish having to do it.

I use Fanball, CBS and Myfantasyleague for various leagues and each of them allows me to make lineup changes until that players game is played (or a few min before at least)

The leagues I play in (Statsworld, MFL, ESPN, and Yahoo) all allow changes til 5 min before kickoff.

Which site(s) do you use Lord Lucan?

We use RTSports and they allow changes up to kickoff of each player's games. It's in the commish settings on most softwares. Either change it or tell your commish.

This scenario cost me a playoof berth last week and in another league cost me a playoff seed because I couldn't swap Larry Fitz out last week. I agree...It's a joke.

lol why not move to a software that does allow it? wouldn't that be a very simple solution?

Either your commish isn't setting the options to let you do this, or you are using a site that seems to be lacking in feature functionality, as this is a pretty standard thing a site should have.

OK I get the concensus here! Will have to go and check my leagues again on Sun and if necessary get onto my commisshes, they are all run by MFL.

My league allows you to change lineups until 1min before gametime of each game.

However, no free agent pickups after the start of the first game of the week.

For Commissioners -> Setup -> (Transactions Setup) Weekly Lineup Setup -> Lineup Submission Deadlinethen select 'Gametime - Players are locked at scheduled kickoff of their game'.This will lock each player on the bench or in the starting lineup as their actual NFL game starts.

For that matter you can do the same thing with waivers if you allow first come first serve waivers. You can set it up so a player can still be dropped or picked up as long as his game hasn't started. Great for when you find out your MNF LB isn't playing, you can at least cut him and pick up someone else playing on Monday night.

I think this is more of a league rules issue than a software issue especially if you are paying for the software

(website).
