Why do we keep putting up with the South? (3 Viewers)

I was going to ask where Nebraska fits in all of this, but who am I kidding? I wouldn't even be offended if the West didn't want us.

:kicksrock:
Nebraska wasn't a state until two years after the War of Northern Aggression IIRC. But it was pretty much a part of the north's war effort. So I guess you guys get to be yankees.
Omaha Steaks! YUM!
Don't get too happy. Once again our glorious leader is in negotiations. By this time tomorrow you guys may only have a small cranberry bog to call your own.
Ohio would be the 23rd largest economy in the world if it were its own country. So any negotiation is going to inculde us. Regardless of how it plays out, we always end up on the winning team, just like in presidential elections.
"Ohio - slightly more important than average."
So, better than Shreveport?

Can't touch Shreveport's Vampire and Werewolf Export ranking, though.

Horseshoe poker room isn't terrible

Funny how the South keeps trying to claim everything up North for themselves but the North isn't trying to steal anything we don't already have. Pretty clear sign which is better.

Well let's see since we have all the natural resources .
People keep saying this but it isn't really true. Oil wise, California, Alaska, and the Bakken formation will provide more than enough. Not to mention, we border Canada. Shorter pipeline will be safer. Shale gas, Appalachian basin has most single reserves and roughly 1/3 of all reserves. And don't even get into coal with us. It might not be clean, but the North will have plenty of energy, especially in a global world.

N Dakota has energy. We need to keep that. We can live on corn and meat up here. We have water, strategic trade with Canada, oh and with NY, Boston, Philly and Chicago (no you can't have Chicago) far more international banking and trade. But hey, enjoy your hemp and Florida drinking water.

Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Missouri were given to us. We didn't make any effort to take them. Would be silly of us to not accept the kind gifts.

On the flip side, the North has been trying to claim Maryland, DC, and Delaware. The North has made multiple attempts and claiming them as their own.

The north does not want DC's debt.

And despite the buildings looking cool, they cost a lot to maintain, and don't produce any wealth. Really nothing about the area is worth fighting for. Let's just call it a wart on Virgina.

Except for, you know, the entire Confederacy. Which you refused to let go.
We're not exactly sure what our great grandfathers saw in the south. With the invention of TV, we've gotten a pretty good look at it now, and can see it's not worth it anymore.

Bye. :bye:

Bye! Good luck with your shipping!

You don't get Alaska and you don't get California as far as I know. And as far as Bakken might want to check with some science guys. Lots of people saying it has already hit peak production. Sad to say oil companies may have lied to us. I know shocking right? And while you are checking you might want to find out how California would even support you. They only produce about 30% of the oil they use themselves.

Avocados, man. Avocados.
Mexico is the world leader in avocado production. Texas gives us a trade route.

I haven't really been following this thread, but on behalf of Washington and Oregon we would like to join Canada.

Can I get a Cliff's Notes on the past 5 pages or so? Did anybody win yet?
A couple of your guys went off the reservation and gave us Illinois and Pennsylvania. No more Chicago for you.
Wow the wheels really are coming off huh. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT
They need their general. Henry has been in here guiding the troops masterfully. Heck we are even in talks for a NJ surrender. We are practically knocking on Rob Fords door.
New Jersey is begging to join us. I still say they've spent too much time praying at the altar of New York. And Consolidated Confederacy of New Jorkey sounds too good to let go of.
It's sad that you need to lobby to add Newark to your list of major cities.

It's sad the north sucks so bad people are begging to leave.

when the big drought hits, you guys will be begging for some great lakes water.
The North finally fires back. They've been doing so much covering from the South's intense artillery fire that they couldn't even get a shot off. So, the North has the Great Lakes (except for portions bordering Illinois and Pennsylvania). Anything else?
Yeah sure. How about THE FINANCIAL CAPITOL OF THE UNIVERSE.

AAgainst which you guys are trotting out ATLANTA.

It's hard to have a serious discussion after that.

Not until they quit. Or are subject to a disorder. Then they get some drugs developed in the north and get back in the game.

We've learned our lesson that it's stupid to put up a fight to keep them.

The south wants to leave? OK, bye!

Yeah but that's an assumption you can't make. Why would a dramatically weakened NSA (Northern States of America) be a good haven for anyone's money? Why would anyone not just go with the Euro and blow this pop stand? What's NYC without easy money and the lawyers it employs really?

O kind of picked a bad time to let you guys stratergize on your own. I don't want to start trouble but if it were me I would be a little upset. You lost the capital. You lost the third biggest city in America. You lost the Liberty Bell. Now I am not a guy that likes to start trouble I'm just sayin'
And here you are desperate to move North, to escape hot season in your crown jewels of Houston and Dallas.

I don't live in those places and your place has worse temps than mine right now. Enjoy!

Ask Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece and Spain. I hear they have GLOWING reviews of their adoption of the Euro!

Remind me again about your list of top cities? Because I don't see how you win at anything with Houston, Dallas, Atlanta and Memphis. Honestly New York alone takes those all down. Probably with a few others along the way. Before you know it you've got Shreveport and Arlington staring down the barrel at ####### Chicago, both wondering what the #### they are doing there. Meanwhile Boston is pimp-slapping that girl dog Charlotte into submission with one hand while having a throat grip on Baton Rouge. This is a rout. I'm just sorry guys.

I see Otis is going to try to bluster his way through the rash of tactical blunders made in his absence. We got Chicago already remember? Your guys gave us Illinois. And since they actually do something there it is more likely to be a productive city after the change. NYC? Not so much. What you should do is huddle with your "leaders" and make sure they don't give us the rest of the country while you are busy tomorrow.

Do you have a link to the poster who gave up Chicago? We need to verify he's a northerner. TIA!

It was the whole state of Illinois actually. Bizarre strategery

Yeah, I want to see this. And I want to see on what authority this happened. It's not like the janitor at Google can just sell the company to some guy for fifty bucks.

It's because Em is from Illinois.

And from where do you derive your authority? I thought you guys were an anarcho-syndicalist commune. People do seem to be taking turns as executive officer.
