Why is there such a witchhunt regarding Romo? (2 Viewers)

Starting in place of Eli on a bye. Have rolled with Eli and Stafford all year, so actually feeling pretty good about it. He's been throwing for a while and non throwing shoulder. Hoping he picks up where he left off and the team and dez rally around him.

Top12 for the rest of the season?
Probably, but hard to say. He's got some tough sledding defenses to go up against.

Car week 12

NYJ week 14

@ Buff week 15

I think he makes a great QBBC for a playoff run, but I have him paired with Eli and his schedule isn't much better.

Im a biased Cowboys fan but I see him putting up monster numbers because, well he has to. The Cowboys must run the table to have any shot.

That's basically where I am.

Maybe a conservative ranking has him #15...but he has upside 6-8 guys in front of him don't.

the biggest thing in his favor is that I think they are going to throw the ball a ton gven their lack of success without him.

Agreed. There's a story on ESPN.com right now about how Romo doesn't need play hero ball. Well, that's exactly what he is going to try and do. As a Dez owner in 1 league and a Romo owner in another, I'm all for it.

any tidbits coming out of practice? I've got Dalton as well and definitely thinking about Tony this week.
FWIW, I'm starting Romo over Dalton in 2 different leagues.

The red BB gun has been cooling off, unfortunately.

Who ranks above him? He's gotta be top 5, right? Luck and Rodgers have been busts. Peyton looks dead.

I see the following guys as being better or equal in most fantasy scoring settings:

Cam

Carr

Bortles

Rivers

Brady

How is Romo not in this mix? We think they're going to win games running McFadden into the ground and relying on their defense? Tony is going to throw it like Rivers. Throw, throw, throw some more.

and Dallas was so close to winning so many of those games. If they catch fire, they could be a force in the playoffs if they squeak in.

Luck I can understand but Rodgers really? He's had 1 bad game and basically ranked QB #2 in my league (few fractions higher than Carson palmer)

Yeah, you're right. Let real life affect my fantasy too much. Big Ben keeps getting smacked around and Palmer has been on fire though his defense makes me nervous, but they've been great as well. Still, if I had to rank qb going rest of the season, I'd say Romo has as good a shot as anyone to be the #1 ros.

Looks like rain in the forecast for the game in Miami. Given the rust factor and weather I think there are safer options out there this week.

Murmurs are out there that he might be faking it a little . . . after that horrid first half which put the nail in the Cowboy's coffin. Not sure I buy that. But it's a nice excuse to have at the ready . . . or to at least divert the attention (of your performance). Scapegoat?

This is trolling, right?

How do you fake a broken bone? Is he going to swap in the x-rays from earlier in the season when the medical staff has their backs turned?

I don't know about any witch hunt, but Romo definitely was voodoo for fantasy owners this season.

Freak early season accident after looking really good on field into Week 2. Broken clavicle on non-throwing arm -- hey that's not bad, we said to ourselves, the injury lasts only as long as it takes for bone to heal. Romo will be back with a solid on-field attack and the best O line in the NFL, right?

We held him through these long weeks. If you were scrambling in a league like mine, you often had to settle for guys like Winston at his worst, and Kaepernick at his best.

Even those with decent backups had the hope of what Romo could be for your team when he got back. That became reality in the Miami game.

Then this.

Sure, there was always the chance an injury could reoccur. And yes, he's not being paid to play two-hand touch.

But man, this was disappointing. Cursed, even.

Pansy til the end. Non-throwing shoulder, lmao. Pop a vicodin and get out there for your team. He probably wants the shoulder to heal faster so he can play golf. I feel sorry for Cowboy fans.

So the witch hunt come from scenarios like yesterday with two TDS to the Panthers after the Patriots game and telling Tom "see you in February". What a tool.

Citing multiple sources, Tony Romo (back) could miss closer to 8-10 weeks than the initially reported 6-10.

In other words, the Cowboys shouldn't be expecting Romo back until the more pessimistic side of initial estimates. Romo will undergo anther MRI this weekend, and "those results will dictate whether the Cowboys carry him on the 53-man roster or place him on injured reserve," from which Romo could be designated for return later in the season. Romo is expected to be out through Week 6 at the soonest, and the Cowboys have a bye in Week 7. It's looking more and more like Dak Prescott is a certainty to start until midseason, at which the Cowboys could have another tough decision to make if Prescott plays well.
