Wildcard Game Thread - Baltimore Ravens at Miami Dolphins (1 Viewer)

Chad is done. He's too scared now. That screen was set up PERFECTLY and he threw it into the ground just assuming it wouldn't be open.

Haven't checked any of the comments yet but this game going exactly as expected. I love Pennington but he can't score two touchdowns against a defense this good. I saw no way Miami was getting 17 points before today, and nothing I've seen in the first half has changed that.P.S. Reed - wow. Can't kill Pennington on that one because it was like a punt but this is why the Ravens were the heavy favorite on the road.
But you'd rather have Penny over Flacco? I don't get that one, Chase.
I'd take the Ravens D over both of them.Flacco - 2010 and beyond. Pennington for sure in '08. Toss up for '09.

 Jets still suck ###, we will not give Penny back, your team is going nowhere so get over it.
:lmao:
Let MoP vent. His team will be joining mine in 30 minutes. Pennington's a very good QB but he's never been able to top a defense like this. With PIT/BAL in these playoffs, Miami was in a very tough spot. If they were the 4 seed they probably would have beaten Indy and had a puncher's chance in Tennessee. But facing BAL/PIT back to back means Miami had very little chance of getting to the AFCCG.

Just had a Kirby vacuum salesman come to my door. 11 a.m. on a Sunday morning. WTF?
lolAnd lol @ the MIA defender(s) who couldn't bring down freakin Flacco on the QB run for the first.PS that is not a catch IMO

Hey guys, how about some pressure on the rookie QB making his first playoff start on the road? Dial up a blitz or two maybe? Can't just let him sit back there for 8 seconds every play, it's ridiculous.

Every time they blitz, it's not even close to being a positive play for the Ravens. Too bad it took them so friggin' long to figure it out.

The Fins would need some miraculous return (kick, punt, fumble or int)in order to come back from a ten point deficit

I know it looks simple enough but they've got to keep their blitzing timely and not go all out too often. Baltimore has plays in the arsenal to take advantage of that kind of stuff. The Fins' D is playing pretty well IMO.

Miami fans are about to see a VERY short second half as the Ravens will run a ton of clock with McClain and McGahee. Flacco may not need to throw more that six times after halftime.

Agreed. This one is close to over because I don't see Miami scoring two touchdowns or a TD and two FGs in the second half.Ravens D is awesome and if it wasn't for a historically good Pit D, we'd be talking about them a lot more. Ravens D may outscore Miami's O today, since they've already got a 4 point lead.I wonder if Miami regrets the decision not to carry more WRs -- spread offense may be the only way to get back into this game but that's not an option with Miami's personnel.

Not sure what other WRs that they could even dress. Camarillo's out - who else they got?

Can't carry what you don't have. Unfortunately, even after wasting the #9 pick int he draft last year we will have to address the WR position. I tried to deny it for the past couple of weeks but they need some serious help even if it is finding 4 more Greg Camarillos, whatever but Teddy Ginn is terrible and you aren't going anywhere with 2 undrafted rookies as your WR2 and WR3...down by 10, I agree the game is basically over.

Then I don't understand dressing only three. That's a mistake. What is more important than having 4 WRs available?

Agreed.Escpecially when you had to know you'd have to pass a lot to win this game.

Ravens have now squandered numerous scoring opportunities and that won't cut it in the next round, assuming they hold on for this one. I'm not counting on it yet, though, like some of you. Fins D continues to play decently, especially in pass coverage.

It would be nice if Baltimore could show some urgency on offense. They continue to get excellent field position and do nothing with it. Time for them to give the D some relief.

Yeah, and P Koch doesn't deserve to be in the Pro-Bowl

Baltimore will not be favored at Tennessee, but perhaps they should be.

I'll happily take them with any points I can get.

lol, fins turnover hey there's something new

Any good movies on? I know the score isn't too bad (yet) but this is over.

Uh, why did they spot that way up at the 8? He went back to the 10 on his own accord, he wasn't pushed back. What a bad spot.

Coming into this game the injury report seemed to heavily favor Miami. But their lack of receivers is killing them because a sustained, well-timed passing attack is/was their only real chance.

Put a fork in 'em...the Ravens offense finally puts a nail in the coffin. I don't think Flacco throws more than 4 passes for the rest of the game. Fuel up the plane and expect another low scoring "you call it boring" I call it a defensive gem against the Titans

the only question remaining is do the ravens call off the blitzes and pressure. that infamous pressureless defense has let a number of teams back into games this year against Bmore. i hope they keep up the pressure.
