**Wildcard MNF - Vikings at Rams** (+1.5, 47) 8:15 on ABC (5 Viewers)

Darnold has a great arm. Can make throws that very, very few others can. But he can't process very quickly, he has no pocket presence and makes some really terrible decisions far too often. KOC got everything out of him that anyone possibly can, I believe.

He's not the guy.
You have to agree that no QB could have success behind that OL, right?

I mean, right?
I have never seen an O Line perform this bad. That coming from a Giant fan who has seen the worse …

Much like Herbert Saturday. He was ransacked too and he is a great QB.

No one can play well without protection.

Sam has nowhere to go with the ball and the pocket is collapsing faster than the Metrodome roof. Some of it is on him but not as much as it seems.
I would agree with this, but he also needs to see a rush coming off the edge and either adjust protection or call a hot route or something. KOC cant predict everything prior to the snap.

On that fourth down, I think every single white out was 10+ yards down field when they needed 2 yards. KOC needs to really take a hard look at how he calls some of these high leverage plays.
He’s not been good the last six quarters. Six quarters without a TD in the two most important games of the season. No great catches, no downfield throws…..absolutist ****ing nothingslkdjfQ!!!!

I agree that makes it more difficult. But he more than anyone should know that. It's fourth down. Season on the line. He stared at one guy who fell down and then was a deer in headlights and eats it. On fourth down. Season on the line. This isn't new. I've been saying this for many weeks.

This is shocking and a bit sad. I remember early on this season thinking the Vikings were one of the best teams in the league. Feel for the homers.

I mean, why even go for it on 4th down? I know you are down big it seemed like such an unnecessary risk
No, it wasn’t. If you score on that drive and you receive the kickoff in the second half and score on that drive you’re right back in the game. That was absolutely the right call this team just doesn’t have the execution right now.

Be that as is may, Darnold has been facing free-running defenders. Unblocked Rams barreling down.

Literally no QB would have success. Blaming Darnold for those sacks seems misdirected at best.

You can't take most of those sacks. Get rid of it, worst case.

or they could have punted and maybe not have given away a td, score on the first drive and you are down by only a td

How did it work for 14 games?
Bad opponents that hadn't caught up to him yet. And a lot of luck.
It shows how bad the quality of the league has gotten.

Once you are in the post season the true warts shine and the real teams show themselves.

80% of this league is subpar now. I know I have said this but this season very well maybe the worst quality product I have seen in 50 years watching football.

Just bad bad bad most Sundays and most teams. And the injuries have gotten so out of hand crippling teams on the LOS on both sides.

Agreed. The Rams pass rush is killing them, and KOC cannot call a play with a design where someone is already immediately? Crazy to have him dropping back like that on a critical 4th and 2.
