Worst Fantasy Owners (1 Viewer)

sad pandas

Footballguy
1) a guy in my league dropped Greg Jennings for a bye week replacement (wk 7) and held onto Boller, Michael Bennett, and Michael Jenkins instead

2) a guy in my idp league actually drafted Darrent Williams at lb...apparantly he didn't have very updated research material. We didn't have the heart to let him continue with the pick though and let him change it

Please share any ridiculous moves, trades, drops, etc you have witnessed this year or even in years past.

I could use a laugh after my teams abysmal performance this year

this season, an owner dropped MJD at the beginning of Oct., who I quickly snached up.

then traded Wes Welker to me for him a few weeks later. Maybe injurys or something. :dunno:

Started a 14-keeper last year. Dude drafted Tiki and Marvin Harrison and dropped out of the league right before this year's draft. Worst owner I've ever seen!

In one league I traded away Bush, Brady and B Edwards for Portis and some other scrubs including Trent Green and Chambers.. Needless to say I'd be in good shape had I not done that. 16 team league (first time) and I had MJD who did nothing for like the first 4 weeks and I didn't think the Pats would hardly run,etc... Last year I traded Westbrook for Troy Williamson and a 1st rd pick. Westbrook was dinged, people said Troy was going to succeed and I wanted to rebuild, but a terrible trade nonetheless. BUT, I am a good owner otherwise and have made some great moves. This year I acquired LT and Moss in trades, main league. We got rid of a guy last week! he didn't even set his lineup for bye week players, did nothing. Like I've said before, no harm in not getting into FF but don't screw up the league for others.

Had a guy take Matt Leinart over Reggie Bush in a dynasty rookie draft. The same guy also took Doug "who?" Chapman with the first overall pick 3 or 4 years ago.

This year, a guy was 0-for, and moved his 1st rounder in '08 (McFadden) and Ladell Betts for Brian Leonard and 3rd rounder in '08. Essentially, he gave up McFadden for nothing.

Just today, a guy dropped J. Walker for N.Davenport after holding on to him all year. He did need some RB help but could have waived Jurevicius or Burleson. Also has 2 kickers and 2 D's. This is a $50 Antsports league and we use bid waivers. I'm wondering if this isn't a set up for a buddy to pick him up that might still have alot of bid money left. This guy is also out of the playoffs. Any opinions? Granted Walker might not do much this week but come playoff time, he should be a force.

In 2 conference (2 pool) 12 team per conference, a dude dropped MaGahee for A Peterson of Da Bears because he "heard" Peterson would get the nod a couple of weeks ago. He also dropped Coles for Horn the same week. No bye issues or anything. Could have dropped Davenport and/or Samie Parker. Needless to say, since this is a big $$ league, people were pissed. I almost neged the transactions as commish (I thought maybe dropped to have a buddy pick them up) but I didn't.

All my leagues have some of these owners

Traded best players to playoff contender

Disappear

Never Appear

Argue every rule if it is to their advantage

Argue every penalty the league decided 6 months ago when it's enforced

Rip off other owners every year

Get ripped off by same owner every year

Get ripped off by everyone

Fire sale

Drop out

Claim unethical behavior is justified due to their inept performance or luck

Threaten unethical behavior when things don't go their way

Ask for a vote and quit when it didn't go their way

Are only not #####ing when their winning

#####ing even when they are

In other words,

Don't want to play

or don't want a fair game

Commissioning is fun

In a startup dynasty draft THIS YEAR, a kid drafted Isaac Bruce in the first round.

He also drafted Rod Smith and started him several times.

He is getting replaced at the end of the year. He was the only one who didn't show up at the draft in person and was put on autodraft because he didn't log on early enough. The Commish told him to set his pre-draft up just in case he couldn't make it online in time, so I guess he thought pretty highly of Bruce.

What part is the worst? That he drafted a dead guy or that you thought Darrent Williams was a linebacker?

this must have occurred in a league ran by someone really hated on ANTS.

I am in a novice to intermediate level league with a group of friends that are relatively new to FF. The number two overall pick made me laugh when I saw it was Tom Brady. I'm not laughing anymore.

In a start-up keeper league draft a few years ago, Urlacher was taken in the first round. Admittedly he was a top 3 LB at that point, but another IDP wasn't taken for several rounds.

If he's not making the playoffs, I don't think he needed him. He may have been able to trade him. The worst trade Ive seen lately was on the dynasty league I quit last year. The guy that took over my team traded away Brady and Portis for Hasselbeck, Boldin and a 1st next year. it'll be a late first though see's how the guy is probably going to ride brady to the championship.

In our first year, we had someone draft tight ends in the second (Ben Coates) and fourth (Jay Novacek) round. The Coates pick might not have been all that bad, but picking your backup tight end before drafting a starting WR is bad. Someone also draft Anthony Carter (3 games, 0 receptions) thinking he was Cris Carter in the first round.

1995 was a great year.

Redraft league. This year. Sometime around week 4.

Tony Romo AND Terrell Owens

for

Jeremy Shockey and Amani Toomer.

Straight up.

I still can't believe it to this day.

I picked up Torry Holt and Marques Colston this year in consecutive weeks (after being dropped).

The bad news is the reason I was able to get both is I was in last place (too many ?#$%@!injuries!).

I was in a league this year where someone drafted QBs with 4 of his first 5 picks (including Byron Leftwich, who had just been cut from the Jaguars about a week earlier). One of those QBs was Brady, so of course that owner is currently in second place in the league.

I'm in several leagues with another owner who drives me nuts sometimes. He made it known in a dynasty league that he wanted to trade Antonio Gates. I offer him Terrell Owens, and tell him to let me know before he makes any deals because I'm willing to match pretty much any offer he receives. He ignores my offer and instead trades Gates for Patrick Crayton. Maybe I should have just cut to the chase and offered Reggie Williams instead. :goodposting:

This trade happened a couple of weeks ago in one of my dynasty leagues.

* Team A gave up Year 2008 Round 1 Draft Pick from Team A;Year 2008 Round 2 Draft Pick from Team C;Year 2008 Round 3 Draft Pick from Team C;Year 2008 Round 3 Draft Pick from Team A;Year 2008 Round 4 Draft Pick from Team A

*Team B gave up Berrian, Bernard CHI WR

I think it speaks for itself.

in my 16 team keeper we had a guy drop Jason witten and keep Todd heap. He could have kept both but opted to keep two kickers instead.

That's how I got Jennings...A guy in my league who's totally out of it traded Chad for 3 players, Berrian, A Green and Dayne to the guy who's 10-1. As commish, I couldn't veto it, it wasn't collusion, the guy was just trying to win a game which you have to respect a little. But dayum, helping out the lead guy when you're out of it?

I love when this stuff happens

I just remembered a couple years ago this guy drafted Baltimore's D with the 6th overall pick. It was quite unreal

A newcomer to our league in the late 90's drafted Merril Hodge at #2 overall because he was a diehard Steeler fan and that was his favorite player. He didn't finish well.

Now, every year someone yells out "Merril Hodge" at some point during the first round. :hophead:

during a live draft a few years back the #1 overall pick was the Tampa Bay Defense. It took all that I had not to bust out laughing. The owner didn't do so well espically since our league does not have high scoring for defenses.

That owner is out of the league and every year someone calls out the Tampa Bay defense in the first round in his honor.

These are instant classics.First year I played FFB was 2004. I took Randy Moss in the 1st round with the 10th or 11th pick. I also took QBs back2back in the 4th (Brett Favre) and 5th (Trent Green) round because no one else had a name brand I recognized. By luck I was able to get Tiki Barber late, like in the 6th round. That was an interesting season but I learned a lot.I don't play in this redraft league anymore because of the scoring. Returners are huge, 1pt/10yds returning KR or PR. A year or 2 ago, Terrence McGee (returner for the bills but designated as a CB) went in 2nd or 3rd round. The guy who won the championship had Devin Hester and ? Miller CB for the NYJ.Same league, there is a diehard NEP fan. I traded Ben Watson & Maurice Morris to him for MB3 & Shockey last year.

Guy in my league made two horrible trades week #4 & 5.

he got

Jackson, Darrell WR SF - sux

Maroney, Laurence RB NE - injured at the time

Jackson, Steven RB STL - injured at the time

Stallworth, Donte' WR NE - dropped Donte the following week

he gave up

Fitzgerald, Larry WR ARI - when boldin went down with hip injury

Jones-Drew, Maurice RB JAC - slow start

Johnson, Calvin WR DET - slow start

Peterson, Adrian RB MIN - splitting time

This guy single handedly flushed his season down the toilet. I can see what he was trying to do but the players he was targeting didn't pan out and his record is 4-7 with 2 games left.

guy always drafts well, makes bad trades and never wins...

2004 guy in front of me takes marcel shipp 1st round this was the year he broke his leg we let him take another pick he takes curtis martin and almost ends up winning the league.

Dude drafted Vanderjag and Vineteri in the 5th and 6th rounds one year, saying he was cornering the market on top kickers. Think this was the year Rackers was picked up off of waivers to be the top kicker.

I made the worst move in our league this year.

12 team redraft. Brady in hand, I decide I don't need favre sitting on my bench and need depth at LB and DB.

So I move Favre and Terrell Suggs for V Young plus two IDP players (Jon Beason and Chris Harris). That very week (last week) I lose to the new Favre owner by 3 points. His two highest scoring players were...you guessed it, Favre and Suggs.

I would have been better letting Favre rot on my bench, now this guy will sneak into the playoffs and could face me in the semis.

A little bit old perhaps, but my idiot brother dropped Kordell Stewart in order to pickup Tommy 'Touchdown' Vardell.

Stewart went on to rush for 11 touchdowns that year..

Same owner..

Drafted Onterrio Smith in the 2nd round of a 14 team redraft league.
