WR Brandon Aiyuk, SF (3 Viewers)

He's a JAG. Can't believe San Fran caved and gave him that contract.
He's not a JAG. He has multiple years of elite play. What are we doing here.

You can say he has not played well this year and is disappointing but he's far from a JAG. Let's revisit this and how it ages for the course of his career.
JAG was pushing it but he isn't an uber elite WR like his contract reflects. He's been an enormous let down and even if he rebounds a bit, I still hated the move for the 49ers.

While saying he is a JAG is false, so is the bolded. He literally has 2 seasons of over 1k yards in 4 seasons played. Last year, he had borderline elite production, but the year before that he was 22nd in catches and yards, tied for 5th in touchdown catches. I wouldn't say his 2022 season was "eliite" but I'd also say Aiyuk owners would probably be happy at this point to get 2022-leve production out of him.

We will disagree here. I think him missing all the training camp and preseason really hurt him. His route running is one of the best.

What I will say is though maybe his head wasn't quite in it at the start due to all the contract and negotiations. I didn't like that Aiyuk took it public but that is a whole other ball game and it did get messy.

There is something that is off right now but I believe it can be reset and he can get back to clicking. Sure it sucks for those that own Aiyuk which ends up magnifying his not so great play so far. But his talent is still there and I so say he is elite. I think it gets sorted out as the season goes on.

Jennings, Deebo, Kittle, and Mason. Wait until Pearsall and CMC return. Lot of mouths to feed.
I think this is the biggest issue. Not a passing funnel like some offices. Didn’t watch the game. Saw he was 2-2 for 48. Then next 3 were incomplete, including the pick in the end zone. Everything I read he is still getting league leading separation, and that’s with shutdown corners on him. Still hard to discard him IMO unless you get a good-great return. Still seems like an alpha but he’s got to earn the targets.

I didn’t like the BS about wearing red shorts in practice. Better not have gotten paid then become a diva - or if so put up big $’s

The beat writers are saying: (1) the separation numbers are misleading because of how much zone defenses have been playing against him; and (2) opposing defenses are structuring those zones to take away Aiyuk's intermediate passing routes (his bread and butter). That's opening up downfield throws and running lanes and I suspect defenses are going to have to shift away from that approach as long as other weapons are beating them. So I expect positive regression.

I considered picking him back up from the waivers, but someone beat me to it two minutes prior and started him for the Seahawks game. I'm thrilled fate took the decision off my hands because last night was a disaster.

The 49ers O is such a disaster for fantasy Owners. Last week BA goes off and Deebo is invisible, this week it's a 180. Some weeks Kittle is the guy, the next he' quiet. Some Jennings is a factor then others he's a ghost.

There's a lot of factors but at the end of the day you can't start a 49er WR with confidence.

A highly talented and compensated receiver sitting on the waivers. This is why I am losing interest in FF. Between this and the ongoing injuries that occur it is becoming too hard of a chore to keep up with and the enjoyment of the process is fading for me.

I am still shocked he isn't the main weapon in their offense with how much they paid him.. For what he is getting used for, seems like they over paid to keep him/

As a Kittle owner I am very happy. He is TE1 in PPG and has 4 straight games with a TD.

The truly only healthy "elite" pass catcher on the roster right now.

Yea, week one was 4/40 which is a pretty typical TE line, and week 3 he was injured, but otherwise he’s been better than I could have expected and very consistent.

He looked elite last week running routes. Maybe he only plays hard every few games, no idea why he is not a focus to get involved every week. At this point I wish he had been traded for FF purposes.

The team is treating him like a rookie. He'll find his groove closer to the end of the season, and he'll be a must-have next year.

I, too, am a proud Kittle owner. He is the 49ers offense.

so I can sell high on him.
How can you be sure you'd sell him high? Don't people in your league see that, six weeks in, he's not putting up the numbers
Aiyuk owner in my league is asking for a comparable WR AND a future pick for him in my keeper league. I would like Aiyuk, but my worst keeper WR is likely Xavier Worthy, and I am not sure I would part with him AND a pick for Aiyuk.

I agree, he's not a JAG. This is all part of the microwave mentality. FF is fickle and has peaks and valleys spread out over years.

This is a good reminder to see if I can buy him.

JAG. 2022 was good, nothing special. 2023 was great for yards. If the injury his serious maybe see you in 2025. After 2026 he too much of a cap hit that he'll have to rework his deal or be cut.

JAG is too much. Aiyuk is a good football player. He shouldn't have been ranked as highly as he was, considering he's the third option at best. Low-volume guys have scary floors.
