WR Brandon Aiyuk, SF (3 Viewers)

For the guys that are on the "Too many mouths to feed, but also Aiyuk is elite" bandwagon - anyone care to take a guess at what you think his production will be with now Deebo AND CMC out multiple weeks?

I drafted him to be a stud for me and while I've been disappointed with his first 2 weeks, I'm expecting him to turn it up and become a top 10 WR the next 2-3 weeks. Not sure where he finishes once those guys are back, but I drafted him to be a top tier WR for me and that's what I think will happen, health willing! *KNOCK ON WOOD*

Dwain McFarland
Brandon Aiyuk over the last three seasons without Deebo Samuel on the field:

29% target share
45% air yards share
2.92 yards per route run

That is a high-end WR1, y'all.

Aiyuk is going to rock the Rams world.

Really thought he'd have a huge game today. Instead it's Jennings. Bet they're not super happy with that 30 million dollar contract at the moment.

Weird game. I don't think Aiyuk even looked that bad. He drew a lot of attention which led to Jennings going off for 175 and 3. Jennings also played out of his mind so Purdy kept going to him.

Stats from yesterday's game:

Targets:
Aiyuk: 10
Jennings: 12

Receptions:
Aiyuk: 5
Jennings: 11

Total Yards:
Aiyuk: 48
Jennings: 175

Yards per reception:
Aiyuk: 9.6
Jennings: 14.58

Touchdowns:
Aiyuk: 0
Jennings: 3

Catch % (2024 %):
Aiyuk: 50% (2024: 55%)
Jennings: 91.7% (2024: 85.7%)

Seems like Purdy knew he could rely on Jennings to catch the ball and gain yards.

Starting to hit panic mode with this guy. Any insight from those that watched the game on why he is not producing?

His hands have developed an allergic reaction to pigskin.
Better than not being able to get open I suppose…

For $30M I expect the guy to catch pretty much anything that hits him in the hands. It’s been a very disappointing start to the season.
Not disagreeing at all with that. He had no issues with drops last year, hopefully can find his rhythm again.

He's a buy low, right?

He's been super disappointing. He's probably not where he needs to be after the extended hold-in/hold-out, whatever we're calling it. But the volume has been solid.

I said all off-season, I didn't think he'd be nearly as efficient this year and his numbers would come down. I think he's better than what we've seen through 3 games.

Seems like he's finally rounding into game shape. All he needs to do is remember how to catch and he might be fine.

Against the Rams, he had the highest separation win rate of any WR this season.

Not sure how they measure those stats but it is nice to see a positive with BA. Hopefully he can start putting together some production, I imagine he is feeling a little heat.

I'm not going to sell him for cheap but I think I'll be rolling with Shakir over him.
Put the pipe down and walk away slowly
I don't think this is a terrible take. I have both and I'm still going with Aiyuk, mainly because Purdy has (once again) silenced the naysayers and proven he belongs in this league as an excellent quarterback. But the Bills are firing on all cylinders and they don't have a clear-cut #1. Shakir's role seems to be growing and they seem to be a better team than SF with the current state of injuries. So choosing that WR over this one doesn't seem crazy to me.

I'm just assuming that Aiyuk will round into form as he gets deeper into the season, and they're definitely hurting for reliable receiving options so I'll likely stick with him. But considering Shakir seems logical to me as well.

It almost happened last week - he nearly missed a couple big plays and a TD. Was tackled at the goal line I believe an had over 100 unrealized air yards.

I think I need to send some trade offers out, especially with all their other playmakers injured.

I had some hope for the Patriots game, but when I saw the news about Deebo starting, that was my sign to finally bench Aiyuk and put Shakir in his place. What a difference that made.

I was forced to start both with AJ Brown and Adams out. I went WR with 3 straight picks to start the draft and thought I would be stacked at the position, yet all 3 have killed me this year. 😂

I am getting extremely annoyed of BA. He's had a month now of practices and games, plus major injuries to guys who could eat into his touches, yet he has done nothing.

What gives?
