Nah, but the organization should get some sort of salary cap reliefThere needs to be a middle ground because now the team is screwed paying for a player they don't have for a year. That’s EXACTLY why players hold out for their bag. It can end any minute so get it while you can.I’m for Aiyuk on that one, sorry.Bad thing the 49ers gave in on that huge payday.Good thing he held out for that huge payday.
I think there should be built-in injury clauses in contracts. A player gets their entire salary as long as they're healthy, but if they get injured, their pay gets adjusted for time missed. If a player makes $20 mil/yr and gets a season ending injury week 8, he gets half his salary for that season. Miss 4 games? You lose 4 games of pay.
I know that'll never happen, but I think something needs to be done to make it fair for both sides.
Only if they insure against it which I tend to doubt.Nah, but the organization should get some sort of salary cap relief

Would love for him to land in Washington and pair with Daniels, but that would be too good to be true for holders.Underdog NFL

His value will be in the recovery as reports like this come out, but still depreciated. I am trying to package him for a RB right now, so we be curious if anyone has seen any recent trades. I agree about the pick values you mentioned, 1st is too much and a 2nd is too little. What is his current value in dynasty right now? I might go do some shopping. If he's healthy and playing he's worth a first but that seems steep right now with lots of questions still.
Second isn't enough.... hmm maybe an early second and a rookie flyer?
KTC now has a trade "database" - FWIW these are what comes up:His value will be in the recovery as reports like this come out, but still depreciated. The only 2 I would even take a second to think about are Golden and Downs. Ayiuk for a (each line is a separate trade):
2026 second
Godwin
Jayden Reed
Matthew Golden + a 2027 second
Downs
Mike Evans
Shakir and a 2026 second
2025 - 2.03
Stuck category as well I suppose, but I am okay with it. I offered him for the 1.09 and was turned down, but not immediately. I am still a believer in the talent. I just saw an opportunity to get a little draft capital, and he’s like my WR5 or 6 on that team.He has two things working against him in the value department. 1) Recovering from injury. 2) After he got on the field after he held out he was not productive..at all. If you do not hold him it is probably worth sniffing around, if you do you are probably stuck unless you are selling at a great discount. I am in the stuck category.
I think the WR out of the group that Aiyuk is closest to in age is actually Godwin. The only 2 I would even take a second to think about are Golden and Downs. Same exact position, Aiyuk is my 6 (very strong 1-5). I would like to turn him into a running back but do not know what a fair swap would be. Not trying to turn this into my issues, just sharing my situation and trying to see if anyone else has had any experience in trading him.Stuck category as well I suppose, but I am okay with it. The injury one is the biggest concern for sure. It might take him most of the year to get back to 100%. He will be back "soon" but still might not be 100%. I'm debating to buy now or if his first game or 2 don't go so hot maybe that is a buy window. He has two things working against him in the value department. 1) Recovering from injury. 2) After he got on the field after he held out he was not productive..at all. #49ers are signing WR Equanimeous St. Brown after a tryout on Monday. Gives them a little depth at a time with plenty of questions in that room.
San Francisco GM John Lynch told reporters today that 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk currently is “not anywhere close to having a concrete timeline” to return from the knee injury suffered last season.

GM Lynch: Brandon Aiyuk (knee) unlikely to be cleared for Week 1, per @CamInman.
The 49ers placed their star receiver on the physically unable to perform list to start the season. That means he'll have to sit out at least the first four games. The earliest Aiyuk could return is in Week 5 against the Rams.
I was originally expecting around weeks 6 to 8. Based on their lack of specifics, your timeline is definitely more realistic but it could be even worse. Now as I actually have to deal with injuries and heading into bye weeks I am not sure I can have him clogging my IR spot while I have to drop others to deal with said injuries/bye weeks with no relief in sight.Just checking, what were the expectations? Maybe I missed something but thought week 8 was hopeful and week 10 more realistic.
As a Pearsall owner, Yahtzee! But, I’m a Niners fan, so it’s bittersweet.Good!

During the preseason, Shanny suggested a week 6 return. So, this is a major bummer.Just checking, what were the expectations? Maybe I missed something but thought week 8 was hopeful and week 10 more realistic.

Taysom Hill, who also had a multi-ligament ACL tear, is 8 years older than Aiyuk, gave him almost a 2 month head start, and he’s returning to play before Aiyuk even seems close to practicing.
SF really should take a long long look at their medical and training staff/setup.
While not all ACL injuries or surgeries are the same, it does seem a bit curious that Aiyuk is still apparently not close to returning.Taysom Hill, who also had a multi-ligament ACL tear, is 8 years older than Aiyuk, gave him almost a 2 month head start, and he’s returning to play before Aiyuk even seems close to practicing.

Agree.
Brandon Aiyuk tore his ACL on October 20, 2024, during a Week 7 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Stefon Diggs tore his ACL on October 27, 2024, a non-contact injury during the Texans' Week 8 game.
Diggs started Week 1. This past week he was 6 for 101 suggesting all the ACL surgery rust has been shaken off.
Does Aiyuk even want to play? He did get paid last year, so what’s the motivation?Taysom Hill, who also had a multi-ligament ACL tear, is 8 years older than Aiyuk, gave him almost a 2 month head start, and he’s returning to play before Aiyuk even seems close to practicing.

That is quite telling and interesting. Based on injury updates from October 2025, Taysom Hill's knee injury was more severe than Brandon Aiyuk's. However, Hill's recovery was much faster, and he was recently activated to play, while Aiyuk's return remains weeks away.
Here is a comparison of Taysom Hill and Brandon Aiyuk's recent knee injuries:
Taysom Hill (Saints)
Brandon Aiyuk (49ers)
- Injury severity: In December 2024, Hill suffered a torn ACL and significant additional damage, including all four ligaments of his posterolateral corner (PLC), requiring a partial knee reconstruction.
- Initial prognosis: Due to the extensive damage and his age (35), Hill was initially told a return in 2025 was questionable.
- Recovery: Hill had an impressive recovery and was activated from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list on October 4, 2025, after missing the first four games of the season.
- Return status: He is eligible to make his 2025 season debut in Week 5 against the New York Giants.
- Injury severity: In Week 7 of the 2024 season, Aiyuk suffered a torn ACL and MCL. The San Francisco general manager noted it was a "fairly significant injury" with damage to multiple parts of his knee.
- Initial prognosis: Aiyuk was expected to miss significant time and was placed on the PUP list to start the 2025 season.
- Recovery: As of early October 2025, Aiyuk is progressing without setbacks but is "not close" to returning to action and remains weeks away.
- Return status: The 49ers will be a better team when Aiyuk is back, but they are proceeding cautiously with his recover
