Against the Eagles too, I'd look for other options.
Chris Olave caught 4-of-5 targets for 42 yards in the Saints' Week 17 win over the Eagles.
Olave was playing through a questionable tag after a hamstring injury limited him in practice this week. The Saints got out to an early lead and only attempted 22 passes, leading to a floor week for Olave, who has at least 40 yards in every game this season. Olave will take a 67/982/3 line into Week 18.

He had 3/31 on the first drive and then crickets. Was that because the saints went Taysom heavy?
I'd be embarrassed to tell you how much time I spent deciding between Olave and Dortch the past 2 days. 5 vs 8, whoopeeHe had 3/31 on the first drive and then crickets. Was that because the saints went Taysom heavy?
Spent more time than I should deciding to start him due to the hamstring...decide to go with him and he gets on the stat sheet early so it looks like a big day and feeling good about the decision...then he goes MIA (same scenario with Cole Kmet)...Dalton only threw it 22 times so gotta believe the Eagles lack of offense yesterday allowed NO to play conservatively.

QB Derek Carr developing some good chemistry with WR Chris Olave — in teams he caught a few contested catches for TDs #Saints
NFL Beat Writers @32BeatWriters
“Chris Olave really looks comfortable and confident out there. Him, Rashid Shaheed, and Juwan Johnson might have been the best players from these three weeks of OTAs.”

WR Chris Olave had the play of the day, grabbing a deep pass from Carr over Alontae Taylor for a 65-yard TD. Olave’s work has been showing.
Taylor later had what would have been a pick-6 on a Haener pass to end practice. #Saints

I'm buying all the Chris Olave stock. Hostile takeover if that's how I have to acquire it. I think he's going to have a monster season.
My assumption is that MT doesn’t catch more than 25-30 balls this year.To what extent are Olave's projections based on the assumption that Michael Thomas is the presumed WR1? I have a personal opinion that Thomas's days as a WR1 are over, and 2023 will be another 50 receptions year, followed by him not being a Saint. Ergo, big Olave upside. Thoughts?
I would hope none. Thomas has a lot to prove if he's still even a viable WR, let alone a #1.To what extent are Olave's projections based on the assumption that Michael Thomas is the presumed WR1? TD heavy non PPR. Is he still a top WR?
I agree, and by that same logic, why are people sleeping on Jahan Dotson's 14.9 YPR and 7 TDs? He literally played half the season healthy and put up outstanding numbers with crappy QB play...Looking at prime liftoff here, boys. Anytime a rookie gets 70 catches on over 13 YPR...needs to be highlighted on everyone's board.

Alex Caruso @AlexCaruso
Chris Olave put up a 2.25 yards per route run as a rookie
And every WR to do that finished as a Top 7 WR in their second year
In addition to Olave now getting a big upgrade at QB in Derek Carr
Who supported a Top 12 WR in both 2021 and 2022
In a start 3WR format, entirely possible to get Garrett, Olave and Dotson. I might wet myself if I pulled it off.I agree, and by that same logic, why are people sleeping on Jahan Dotson's 14.9 YPR and 7 TDs? #Saints QB Derek Carr praised the growth of WR Chris Olave s they get more acquainted. Says the two are seeing the field the same way more than not but wants to be sure Olave is bringing his own to the equation as well. “I can’t do what he does.”
The two connected well today.
NFL Beat Writers @32BeatWriters
“Olave, to this point, has looked better & stronger than he did a year ago, & he should keep building on that. He spoke to the media after practice, & while he is still lean, you could see he's added some muscle to his frame. Olave said he put on seven pounds this offseason”
Ross Jackson
#Saints WR Chris Olave was outstanding in practice today. Yet again. Continues to show that contested catches are a big addition to his game.

The Derek Carr-Chris Olave connection has been one of the highlights of camp … and DC agrees with that. He noted a route adjustment today on an explosive play that you’d never expect to see out of a 2nd-year player. #Saints
Nothing wrong with that. He’s a real good player and Carr has had no problem supporting some excellent fantasy WRs.Despite Carr, I decided to draft him 2nd in my PPR best ball league over Smith or Higgins.![]()
Drafting the #1 WR in New Orleans who has limited competition and a solid, proven (not elite) QB over two clear #2 WRs on their respective teams doesn't seem like a stretch.Despite Carr, I decided to draft him 2nd in my PPR best ball league over Smith or Higgins.![]()
Right. I have Olave over Waddle right now. IMO Cousins and Carr are essentially clones and none of us would avoid Justin Jefferson, even though they added a potentially excellent rookie WR, so why not take a chance on Olave?

Probably hurts Olave but will Thomas stay healthy?MT didn't look bad at all today. I honestly don't expect him to last the season - but if he did, what does it do to Olave's numbers? Good (less coverage) or bad (less targets)?
weren't you the guy with the Kandre Miller post, you really like to second guess yourself, (and the guy behind the couch emoji), huh? season hasn't even started yet...Despite Carr, I decided to draft him 2nd in my PPR best ball league over Smith or Higgins.![]()
Some players I'm all in and sure about, but yeah, sometimes I really get on the fence and am torn. Chris Olave posted 112 receiving yards on eight catches in a Week 1 win over the Titans.
The Saints moved Olave all over the field on Sunday, lining him up out wide, in the slot, and even in the backfield. They are making it a priority to get him the ball, and it worked against the Titans with Derek Carr targeting him 10 times. Olave was also the target on a 50-yard bomb from Carr in the fourth quarter that could have easily been called a pass interference, so it’s pretty clear that the second-year receiver is going to be a major part of this Saints offense with the chance for huge games every week.
