WR Cooper Kupp, SEA (5 Viewers)

Well, maybe not:

Jourdan Rodrigue
@JourdanRodrigue

The Rams placed OL Jonah Jackson and S John Johnson on IR, but not Cooper Kupp. While that seems like a positive sign, I would caution against reading too much into possible timeline. Rams running out of future return designations. At least it shows injury is not season-ending.
Yeah I was coming here to mention this. McVay was talking yesterday about already running low on the return from IR spots.

ETA-I think it's still encouraging, just needs some context.
I feel for you Rams management.

My fantasy team is also out of IR spots.

Great, now we will have to deal with the "Out" designation on Friday and then back to "Q" on Tuesday so you have to dump a guy to make transactions and then all over again for the following week.
What app are you on? If on ESPN, you can't place someone on IR when Q, but you if already on IR from the previous week and there with Q tag, you can still make transactions. This was changed last year and went unnoticed by many people.
It's ESPN. I thought for sure after week 1 I had to take ineligible guys out of IR to make FAAB bids. Maybe it's a setting you can activate for your league. I will check next week and get back to you.

Is anyone dealing Kupp in their league for some help? Was offered Steele, McConkey and Spears for him in a salary cap league where you can keep players for up to 3 years (salaries go up each year). Considering it, but would prefer to muddle through the next few weeks and see if he can return soonish….

I'm not but I'm 2-0 so hoping I can ride it out.

If you were 0-2 I'd consider it though.

I don't think that's near enough. He hasn't hit IR, it's not season ending. There's hardly a startable player being offered.

I cut bait. Was able to get Shaheed in one league, and Johnston in another. GL to those holding.
Thats a great deal
I don't know. That seems like the epitome of selling low and buying high (on the NO offense and a guy that just scored 2 TDs).
One of the better thing to come out of FBG in recent years, maybe bloom or walkman on the podcast, look at your season in windows

4 games without cup could be 1-3. You gave yourself a shot at 2-2/3-1

So this value in this part of the schedule is still relevant for playoffs, points, etc.

Then we compound the post sprain effect on Kupp.

Kupp > Shaheed in a vacuum

But we aren't in the vacuum, under the circumstances, thats a good deal IMO

I dealt him in dyno SF, not for immediate help.
I realized I’m needing to build although I can probably eek into the playoffs.
I traded Kupp for Bryce Young, hoping it’s a true buy low while the other guy got value while there was something left to get.

So the theory is to move Kupp now and give yourself opportunities to go 3-1 now vs 1-3 and then later in season go 3-5 due to giving up Kupp too soon?
Granted it is all hypothetical and Kupp could miss longer or re-injured but I see depth as your salvation not selling short

I don't see the benefit in trading or dropping Kupp for fringe flex players.
Don't get it.

If you held fantasy drafts after week one he'd have been a candidate to go 1.1 and if he's good to go in 5 weeks, and I think a really good chance he is, he'll have only missed 3 games.
He still might miss only 1 game. If they expected 3, he would have gone on IR
I don't have that rosy out an outlook for the next few weeks and personally am planning on him most likely returning after the bye and suiting up in week 7.

I thought I read yesterday they'd be keeping the cast on for 1-2 weeks then starting rehab. Not seeing a way he's just missing a game.

IR would have put him a out a minimum of 4 games and kept him out until week 8. That combined with being very short on the allotted return to play is why they did not put him on IR. As is they can give him 5 full weeks with only missing 3 games.

BTW I think you are in a FFPC $350 draft I did on the Saturday after the two openers were you took Kupp in round 2. Thought you had a very strong draft, sniped me a few times, and see you are off to a strong start. Good job, Tee should be coming to help you while Kupp recovers, that one of the times you sniped me.

Yeah, I reached for Kupp. I Considered McBride, but was targeting Andrews in round 5. I really hated that stretch of the draft this year. Your team is solid too. Hope to see you in week 14

From Dr. Chao yesterday:

Cooper Kupp is going to miss some time with an ankle sprain but it's not as bad as the high ankle sprain that was widely reported in media on Thursday.

"That was an eversion ankle sprain which is a form of high ankle sprain," Dr. Chao said. "But there is a difference between an eversion ankle sprain (where the ankle rolls out) compared to a high ankle sprain (which occurs when the foot is flexed upward and the ankle is twisted.)

"Eversion gives a better recovery timeline. I never thought Cooper Kupp was going on IR. I thought he'd miss one week at most. It's sort of trending that maybe he misses a couple of weeks.

"I don't think it's impossible that he's back next week," Dr. Chao added.

This is the shark pool... We all should have drafted Jameson and Shaheed and not be panicked about Kupp missing a few games :shades:
This. If you don't have somebody on your roster before bye week that works as a solid fill in, you had a bad draft.
I drafted JSN and B. Thomas mid draft. Really hoping they can step up.

Also picked up Q. Johnston this week. Need somebody to step up.

Unfortunately, I also have T. Hill.

Need both Kupp and Tua back relatively soon or things could get difficult.

If you play in an FFA or Shark Pool league, you might not be swimming with anything but shahks and ninjahs.

:tfp:

That's the ninja, shark, drinking, train wreck progression that comprise most drafts. I'd give the train wreck by around round four . . . just in time to reach for Jamo or Shaheed.

Redraft......I dropped Kupp for those guys.

I felt lucky to get Shaheed on the ww.
I was able to trade Kupp and Irving for Jameson Williams and Tank Dell. I've still got Chase and AJ but needed some depth since my other two WR's are Kirk and Watson.

against LV in LA, I doubt they need him much
The Rams are 1-4. I doubt they are taking anything for granted.
I get that but the Raiders and Browns are both teams on massive life support with no remedy in sight. At least the Panthers are competitive with their up and coming coach and Dalton.

The Rams are competitive without Kupp (albeit would be much better with Kupp.) If he's good to go he's good to go but there's enough risk here that the Rams cannot throw caution to the wind.

If the Raiders are on massive life support at 2-4, how would you characterize the Rams? If you're advocating caution with Kupp, what about Stafford? Keep them healthy and trade them for draft picks? Full rebuild?

McVay uses Kupp like Shanahan uses McCaffrey -drive the car 'til the wheels fall off!

McVay cares about winning each game as it comes; the future will take care of itself.

Damn the torpedoes! Full speed ahead!!!

Any updates on if he is practicing?
From FFPC "Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp had a positive workout on Monday. The veteran wide receiver appears to be trending in the right direction ahead of the week 7 matchup against The Las Vegas Raiders. It sounds like Kupp has a chance of suiting up this weekend, but that will depend on how he feels during practice."
