WR DeAndre Hopkins, TEN (2 Viewers)

Anyone starting Hopkins tonight? Am I crazy to consider benching Higgins for him? (Evans, Hill, and McLaurin locked in the other spots)...
Heck yes I'm starting him. Really don't know what to expect.....he could bust, but after what looked like a QB/WR match made in heaven last week, I just can't leave him on the bench. DHop has his pride, and one would expect him to show out tonight if at all possible. Very few WR's have been better at catching contested balls, and apparently Lezvs ain't afraid to lay it up there.

Unbelievable but...Panthers have so many injuries that David Long Jr may play CB, may even start at corner.

He's a fast LB but I wouldn't say he's that fast.

I'm not a fan of the Titans OC but I'd call a zillion plays to whoever he's covering and run Henry wide towards the other CB.

It's so hard to believe but Nuk could have a phenomenal game

(FantasyPros) DeAndre Hopkins caught seven of his 12 targets for 124 yards and a touchdown in a 28-27 win over the Dolphins in Week 14. Analysis: Hopkins turned in a huge performance in Tennessee's upset victory over Miami on Monday night. His touchdown came on a three-yard pass from Will Levis in the fourth quarter. Hopkins is off to an excellent start in December as he has caught 12 of his 24 targets in the two games since the calendar flipped. He will be a high-end WR2 in Week 15 against the Texans.

Remember when people thought this guy was done in the offseason? Coming thru for me in the clutch these last 6 weeks or so.
Everyone thought he was done because all he could muster is 2 years 34 million from a non friendly pass offense. He’s still had some way dud games but yes I feel I missed on him. We always focus on “is this the decline year” vs “I got one more in me”

*Almost everyone* would be more correct. I was banging the drum most of this offseason. While he isn't the stud he once was, he is still a very good WR3, low end WR2 for teams making pushes this late. Levis seems to love him.

(FantasyPros) DeAndre Hopkins caught 2-of-9 targets for 21 yards in the Titans' 19-16 loss to Houston. Analysis: Hopkins lead the team in targets, but could not convert the high target share into a meaningful performance. The veteran is the clearly Will Levis' favorite target in the passing game, making Hopkins a solid starting option heading into a matchup with the Seahawks.

DeAndre Hopkins had a horrible day in the first round of the playoffs, but if you survived, then he’s a viable option in Week 16. Despite just 21 receiving yards on two receptions, he still saw nine targets and has seen 33 targets over the last three games. The Seahawks’ pass defense has struggled of late, allowing 40 fantasy points to opposing wideouts over the last five games. Whether it’s Will Levis (sprained ankle) or Ryan Tannehill, they both know how to feed “Nuk.”

He shut down a recent rumor (in minutes) that he'd be leaving the Titans.
He's been on other WRs social media mentioning the Titans on their TL.

He hasn't had many interviews or anything but one boring quick one where he stated the obvious of being impressed w Big Jeff and Henry and saying Henry's off-season workouts are incredible

I've been really surprised at early rankings having Ridley ahead of Hopkins. At no point in their careers has Ridley been the better WR, why would that start now? Especially as Hopkins already has a year with Levis.
Agreed. The only way Ridley finishes ahead of DHop is injury.

Hopkins is shaping up to be an ADP darling of mine for redraft.

Note: I don’t expect him to necessarily be the alpha in TEN - I wouldn’t be shocked to see all of Hopkins & finish with somewhat similar FF points (though different methods of accumulating them).

But I do expect Hopkins to be a better value than Ridley in redraft.

As a Levis shareholder I hope I’m wrong.
Hey bud, I think you slept in and posted before coffee today

No, I meant I have Levis, who is throwing to Ridley in TEN. So I hope I'm wrong, and Ridley is better than Hopkins. Levis is Ridley's QB, no? :oldunsure:

It's this part that is confusing and the reason for the coffee comment.
Oh, yes - that is confusing.

Man - in my brain I will always associate Hopkins with HOU. Fixed!

To the coffee maker!
I think things like that sometimes. Earlier today I wanted to check what all receivers the Jets have, so I looked up "packers depth chart" because Rodgers is the QB.

injury reported as "knee strain" in multiple outlets.

Titans' DeAndre Hopkins to Miss Time With Injury
Titans receiver DeAndre Hopkins injured his knee in practice this week, and doctors have diagnosed him with a strain, Paul Kuharsky of paulkuharsky.com reports.

I watched Hopkins leave the field late in practice Wednesday with the Titans' top medical guy, Todd Torischelli. But he had no discernible limp and I figured he was leaving for treatment, which he may have been.

not familiar with the guy in the link here, but it seems injury happened yesterday with the diagnosis coming out now.

edit: knee "strain", not "sprain." thanks bri.

Strain not sprain if we're nitpicking.

He tweaked it the day before and practiced on it. It's minor. Not even every reporter has run a story on it.

Sad to see it with DHop, but this was exactly why his ADP was so discounted in Dynasty. 32 is getting up there in WR years and the injury bug starts hitting harder.

Strain = muscular...muscle/tendon damage
Sprain = joint...ligament damage

Both indicate damage to soft tissue that gets diagnosed via grade which indicates the damage to the area.

You do not strain a knee. This has been misspoken in this world for damn near forever.

Until I hear otherwise, I'm betting the knee joint is fine, and he has a minor pulled muscle in either his upper or lower leg, that will be therapy-ed out by the end of the weekend.

See you on Monday, D-Hop, getting a managed workload that's closer to half-full than half-empty.

This is just, like, my opinion, men.

100% an old guy injury. He'll probably stay a little injured all season yet manage to play most of the games at 70-90%, which is better than most healthy WRs anyway. He'll have value, and probably some huge weeks.

Is this you as an armchair orthopedist or are you getting that info from a credible source?

agreed. worst case scenario is he misses week 1 and possibly week 2. but most likely he recovers well enough to play week 1. I'd bump him down my list a few slots but I'd still take him

Coach has been saying Hopkins looks good to play in week one for a couple weeks now and said it again recently.

***Positive, no doubt***

Taylor Lewan, former player... podcaster now...said Hopkins won't play week one. He is NOT a newsbreaker or reporter so this was odd.

Hop was wearing a sleeve today at practice over his knee.

***Sounds negative****

Titans WR coach said he's chomping at the bit and they're trying to hold him back. He told a story of Hopkins starting a drill before the other guy was even done because he's so over anxious.

**Sounds positive***

MCLs are 1-3 or 4-6 week recovery time.
Grade 2 and 3 are painful.
Grade one is part nuisance part pain.

Since Hopkins practiced the rest of the day and the next day when he injured it and it took a meeting to have him agree to sit, that lends towards a grade one tear.
If so, he'd be good but need to go thru PT and the swelling/icing after. He has been working w Titans docs and trainers the last week or two.

I guess grade one and he's ok soon if not now.
It simply doesn't fit the other grades

Listed as questionable, practiced in full.
Video of him in warmups/stretch by TD

Gotta be grade one. That would be painful for sure if it wasn't.

Barely played and decoy when he did
Coach said he will get more reps each progressive week.
A few times this past week how he's itching to play all game

How's Hopkins doing?
He's fine- like why do you ask vibe

Grumpy game after day but all in all that's probably positive news
