I say for this week I can’t trust Parker.

I hope they start lighting it up by week 14. I’m not gonna hold my breath but it is possible. 

 
I have Parker in the 25-35 range, WR3/4 area. 

-If you are something like 6-4, 7-3 or better right now, odds are high you have a WR trio in front of Parker that might look something like this...Hill/AJB/Kupp and then have maybe any number of outstanding rookie WRs in the wings like Higgins or Jefferson and then you might have Parker who you were playing early on but now you gotta slide him on to your bench. If Parker is your Bench WR I think you are in pretty good shape. If Parker is the only thing you have, gets tougher right now.  

When you least expect it he's gonna have one of those big days. On the road in Denver is never easy for teams that never play there. 

 
Benching for J Meyers. I would like to see a connection between Parker and Tua, I have not seen that yet. I would argue that Grant seems to be more 'in sync" with the new QB. I'll be watching closely this weekend to see how this trend develops.

A big part of that is big early leads in the 2 games versus the LA teams. That's unlikely to continue the rest of the season, although I don't foresee high scoring games the next 2 outings vs the Broncos and Jets. Fitzpatrick had less than 200 yards passing versus the Jags and Jets, as the Miami defense stuffed those teams. I think Parker will have value when Miami faces Cin and KC 3 and 4 weeks from now.

 
I think Parker is a solid hold.  He’s on my bench this week but I didn’t drop him as considered.   It’s possible that Tua will have to throw more in a few weeks.   After some more game experience, Parker may become Tuas favorite target.  Don’t see much competition for Parker.

Instead of saying "I would" why not talk more about that now? What makes you feel that way? When you watch the games in real time, what are you seeing that makes you think that Grant is in total sync with Tua?

This matchup this week has red flags all over. Miami D will annihilate a gimpy Lock and/or Brett Rypien. I would be shocked if Tua has to throw it over 25 times (or if Miami let’s him). Phins will be in control all game and running against a suspect Broncos run D. Nothing about this matchup looks good. You are basically praying that Parker gets a TD early before the Phins pack it in go super conservative on offense.

Still struggling with this choice. I’m souring on Pittman due to uncertainty who Jaire will be covering and just general sample size. I could see game flow being in his favor though. For lack of better options, I guess I might be defaulting to Parker here for another week.
Am I missing something on my read of this game this week? Any Miami fans here have a feel on how this team travels east to west? Mile High is a strange place to play to begin with, but this Denver D is not one to fear this season (especially given the short fields the offense will most likely be working with today).

I begrudgingly started him due to lack of better options. It worked out as Pittman and him ended up with roughly the same numbers. I didn’t foresee the Phins D having a down game so that helped him out. Hopefully he continues to establish chemistry with Tua down the stretch, and Preston Williams doesn’t come back anytime soon. Still don’t feel confident rolling him out there on a weekly basis, but can possibly be a matchup play going forward.

I mentioned earlier about the possibility of Miami dropping winnable games down the stretch due to the Fitz to Tua switch. Hard not to look at this game as a missed opportunity.

So I had a bad outing from Higgins and will likely release him this week. I put Kupp away and inserted Parker to try and make up some ground, glad I did. 18 welcome points. 

 
I may have to start Parker if Julio misses time.  And I don't feel good about it.  What is going on with the QB situation?  I know Tua will start.  But he was terrible.

Let’s not bury Parker yet. We have a pulse again!  If Fitz starts, blow up game is coming tomorrow.

When Fitz eviscerates this defense tomorrow maybe it gives Flores an out to save face and stick with Fitz in the short term due to the Tua injury. If Miami actually wants to seriously make a run here, Tua is simply not ready. They already dropped an entirely winnable game in Denver as a result of the QB switch. Tua appears to have some talent but he’s too raw. No shame in letting the Fitzmagic ride play out one last time and make a run at the playoffs.

DeVante Parker caught 8-of-14 targets for 119 yards in Week 12 against the Jets.

Parker led the team in targets with Ryan Fitzpatrick starting. He was held out of the end-zone, with Mike Gesicki and Adam Shaheen scoring Miami's only touchdowns. The yards were a season high, though Parker was gifted a 19-yard catch that likely should have been overturned. With Tua Tagovailoa (thumb) likely to miss at least another game, Parker's ROS outlook is trending up. He'll be a WR2 against the Bengals if Fitzpatrick remains the starter in Week 13.

14 targets!!! All systems go!!!

With the Phins now firmly in the thick of the playoff hunt, and the efficiency of this offense under Fitz, you would have to think they stick with Fitz going forward. Realistically, going back to Tua is tantamount to tanking their chances at the playoffs at this point (in favor of Tua evaluation). There is no way Flores could sell to his locker that Tua gives them a better chance to win right now. It could be a dangerous game he is playing and could risk losing the locker room.

B2B weeks knocking on the 20 point door step in PPR, pretty good return right now and Fitz shows no signs of handing things back over next week vs Cinci. 

-Not saying he is autostart but he should be an easy Flex option for many if not a WR2/3 slot he can fill.

I can’t believe the Dolphins are seriously considering going back to Tua this week. I get that Dolphins management wants to see what they have in Tua and if they need to invest further draft capital in a QB this year. It makes sense from a management perspective. But this decision to go back to Tua is being made at the expense of a playoff run. No one can watch these 2 QBs play right now and make the argument that Tua gives the team a better chance to win at this point. 

I don’t know how Flores can sell this to his players as a move that gives the team a better chance to win. This decision has to be coming from management. I hope for Flores’ sake he doesn’t lose the locker room over this decision. If Tua does again get the start, Parker should go immediately back to fantasy benches.

Greetings Johnny U, 

I understand why you feel Fitz is the right QB, I Drafted Parker as well, no doubt Fitz is a better QB than Tua, I was vocal about it when it happened. That said, if you watched the game it was 13-3 late 3rd, the offense wasn't moving the ball and Fitz dodged a couple interceptions, Phins were fumbling the football, the offense looked pretty bad. I don't think Miami would beat most teams that weren't the Jets, and they lost the game @Denver week prior. I'd like to think they swallow the Bengals up easily this week but I'm afraid I will need pack of Rolaids for this one. 

I'm on record as I would extend Fitz right now for 2 years, around $7.5M a season and see if he takes it and if not then I would ask what he thinks he is getting on the open market. I'd likely go up to $10M per year for the next 2 which is exactly in theory when Tua would be eligible for his 1st contract extension and would be pretty telling about where he is at in his career come 2022. I think Miami is a unique situation where Fitz flourishes down here. He's a leader in Miami and respected, not sure that's been the case most places he has been. He's treated like a king around here for the most part. I would like to see him hang out and push Tua who needs a lot of work right now let's be honest.

Well, I called it with Fitz getting Parker the love.

It sounds like the Dolphins are going to go right back to Tua.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a quick hook. Dolphins are in the hunt for a playoff spot. I understand why they’d want to give Tua a chance. But if it comes at the expense of wins, I have to imagine they’ll get Fitz back behind center as soon as it becomes apparent Tua can’t get it done. 

I like the kid & he has a future, but he looked lost last game. Fitz is a wildcard at times but he’s their best chance to win right now. 

 
Miami is really not about making the playoffs this year, or if they are going to make it, its to get "playoff seasoning" for the young guys on the roster (which fitz isnt).  Look, I love RF and understand he will throw small window throws that Tua at this point hasn't tried.  The whole "throwing WRs open" that Fitz has and Tua doesn't only comes from reps.

If you are looking at this only through the Parker lens, then you want Fitz to start.  If you are looking at it in terms of the "process" then as soon as Tua is healthy, get his butt back out there.

 
So this guy is still consistently being ranked in the top 30 this week. Is this just lazy analysis or am I missing something?

I figured his ECR this week is simply based on him being a volume play? KC pass defense isn’t bad and I could easily see a scenario where they just embarrass Tua. Although this  might be best case scenario for Parker owners as then Fitz could make an appearance. 

So what owners doing with this guy? Fuller’s suspension left me thin at WR and I’m unfortunately having to consider starting him over the likes of Coutee and AB. How we feeling about him this week?

I hear the disappointment with Tua at the helm vs Fitz. I hear the sentiments that Tua doesn't connect well with Parker. I did choose Parker over D Johnson by a smidge back with Fitz to Parker play a strong connection. Now what? Well, Parker is a very good WR and I am sure he will see volume this week having to keep up with KC. Depends upon options as Parker would make Flex appeal. I will start one from this group: Gallman, Gaskin, Parker. Leaning Gallman at the moment. If Fitz was QB the choice would be more difficult to make. Right now I would choose D Johnson over Parker unlike two weeks ago I was sensing a Parker surge.

No matter how you spin it, Tua downgrades Parker a good bit.   Maybe KC will take a big lead and Fitz will hit the field just to chuck around in desperation.   I’m pretty much forced to start him with Golladay still out and Shepherd with a gimpy QB.   Let’s keep the hope alive.  

 
As I ponder my decisions for whom will be my WR3 this week, Parker slides down the list for me with Tua at the Helm. I have both Deebo and Antonio Brown ahead of him in my line-up. If Fitz were QB, Parker would be in

There seems to be a unanimous consensus that Parker slides with Tua at the helm. Now, how much of a slide is the variable. I'm still seeing Parker with a decent floor and ceiling 4 catches for 50 yards on the low, low end and 6-8 catches and 80-100 yards on the high end, both with a 50/50 TD. He's not an awful play and they could be playing catch up all day. It's not out of the question that Fitz could see second half snaps for a boost?

Edit: Parker still sits behind Gaskin and Gallman vying for the Flex spot on one of my teams this week. Any one of the 3 can outscore the other two this week. Mr. Obvious lol.

This is my exact scenario + Tee Higgins.  Starting Dionte for sure and right now I'm planning on Parker as my WR2...hoping a game vs KC will force high pass volume.

 
For sure Tua is a downgrade but I did like the 3 red zone targets last week, all from within 5 yards or less.

Red zone usage, solid target floor, seems like a solid play to me.

I am starting him for sure in one league, mulling over Parker or CEH in the other but leaning Parker based on horrible experience with CEH last week and slim chance his weight/conditioning is not 100% back yet and he sees a lighter load.

 
With the Gaskins news, I’m more inclined to start Parker. As for the rush game,  Washington with a balky hamstring is leading this backfield this week? Could be ugly. 
Not that they had much choice to begin with due to the opponent (KC), but do any of the other WRs in this range seem  more likely to go off

I am hoping they let it rip with Tua and it benefits Parker & Gesicki. 

 
It's at a dangerous point if you are in Dynasty.

Didn't even know...unfortunately I have him as a Keeper so he has to stay on my roster as at least the last guy on the bench right now. But it handcuffs me for next week in the Playoffs. 

Utah is well documented and has been talking about this issue for a month or more.

He's done for the day even if they aren't saying it. Force feeding Lynn Bowden right now...

This Offense has 5 rookies and is fixing to start a couple more at this rate, it's complete meltdown at the end of the season.
