WR DK Metcalf, PIT (1 Viewer)

Rotowire) Metcalf (ribs/hip) is listed as questionable and viewed by coach Pete Carroll as a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup with Arizona, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.

I’ve heard all week he was just resting in practice to be cautious and was definitely starting…this seems different than that.

Really tough for me to play the waiting game as well in a few spots. Rolling with Godwin in one which is easy and punting others until afternoon kickoff where I do have options. But I have 7 other spots where I have to commit in the next 20 minutes. Not loving it.

Didn’t realize Metcalf was Iron Man and had never missed a game in his career before last week.

Probably due to the fact that I traded for him and my team has the injury bug.

I know the gum chewer is pretty quiet on injury updates… but here’s to hoping he can get back on the field and get cooking in the second half of the season.

I took a big fat zero in a dynasty league this week because I just assumed he would play and lost track of it during the day.

Foolish me. Cost me points and all-play percentage.

Let's hope he's back this week, though him missing time at all seems ominous.

He's also been especially cheap shotty this year. Don't like watching that.

Seahawks WR DK Metcalf (hip/ribs) was listed as a full practice participant Wednesday.
Initially thought to practice in a limited capacity, Metcalf was listed as a full participant to begin the week. This bodes well for his availability in Week 8 against the Browns after missing Week 7. With Tyler Lockett (hamstring) not participating, Metcalf could move back into the pass-catching rotation with a large target share next to rookies Jake Bobo and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Fellow pass-catchers Noah Fant (toe) and D’Wayne Eskridge (knee) got in limited practices as the Seahawks seek to get their offense healthy.

I have both DK and Olave on my roster, and each week is becoming a battle of who can get peppered with the most targets, but catch less than half of them.

This week DK takes the crown. Last week was Olave. Stay tuned for next week.
I’m in the same boat with these two and the boat is sinking this season. My team looked good on paper but the Wins/Losses don’t look good on paper.

Nico was saving me most weeks, but he turned in a 'picture on a milk carton' type performance today. DJ is getting peppered with 2 yard passes now, Dotson was MIA until today on my bench LOL. London is having other issues, notably his groin.

I feel your pain.

Misery loves company! I dropped Dotson last week which looks like a terrible move today. It’s been a rough season and there is nothing you can do to turn it around.

On his radio show with
@TheMikeSalk
and
@BrockHuard
, Pete Carroll said DK Metcalf was "sick as a dog" Saturday night. "I mean, sick sick." DK had to leave the team meetings and looked weary Sunday morning. "We were all feeling for him but he came through and had a terrific game."

Feels like a nice buy low in dynasty and redraft. Lot of green in his schedule the last 4 or 5 weeks of the season.

I bought low 4 weeks ago.

And I got to say this seems to be a Geno problem watching him these last 4 weeks.

A lot of balls thrown at his feet and uncstchable targets.

I hope you are right. I need him to produce.

It's been painful running him out there week after week. It's no coincidence that one team where I have him is my worst.
I traded Jefferson for him straight up right after Jefferson went on IR.

I was hoping for a solid floor 10-12 points guy a week with upside.

But did not get that and honestly don’t think Metcalf helped my team much those last 8 weeks.

But, I need one win in the next two weekends to lock up a playoff spot, so I’ll thank him for his service tonight.

37.40 PPR points. Had to start him and he came up huge.

Let's hope his attitude is a harbinger of things to come rather than a one-game fluky type deal. When he's dialed in, he's tough to stop. But those games are sometimes hard to come by for some reason.

I honestly don’t know why they didn’t go to him more. It’s not like he was being stopped.

Hell, look at the other side of the game. Lamb had 17 targets!

8 targets. 6 catches. One of those drops was real low down by his knees… and in my opinion also very easily could have gone for a long TD.

Feed what’s working until it’s not.

Definitely one of the most enigmatic WRs in the league. I owned him during his first four years and he's always had a number of huge spike games surrounded by a bunch of stinkers. This year the number of stinkers has increased - maybe due to another mouth to feed in JSN, although Lockett seems to be slowing. The lack of consistency has always been puzzling.

I benched him too. Didn’t have a game over 20 all year in my league. Had him in the lineup until yesterday morning. Him and Charbs both. Couldn’t stomach playing two seahawks. Went with the RB who did ok. Worst part was I started him all year long and was just bummed about last Thursday and switched him out for Singletary in my flex. And my opponent had Lamb. Oh well….cool story bro… :ptts:

I know it might seem that way, but in full PPR, I think he's averaging ahead of what he averaged last year.

Indeed, he's averaging 1.4 points more per game than his total points per game average from last year.

And he's averaging .4 points more per game than his 2021 total points per game average.

I will agree with you that he is an enigma wrapped inside a riddle. Nights like tonight just look totally dominant, contested catches in all. Other weeks it looks like he hasn't ever seen a contested catch or a difficult throw with heat on it. I think it has to do with his mental makeup, which just might be improving. But he's a grab bag of sorts.

I like him. I wish him well. He's a spectacular athlete. Love to see him start to dominate Seahawks games.

Fair points - he's actually been a bit more consistent this year but his spike weeks have seemed to be less. I do agree that it's probably his mental makeup, in which maybe he just doesn't seem to show up in some games. He's got the physical talent to be a target magnet/hog like Lamb, Chase, Adams, Hill, etc., but the mental aspect still seems to be a bit lacking.

And he's not as refined a route runner as those guys. Plus his contested catch technique is off, according to Matt Waldman. Those two things are pretty important and add up.

But he's probably the best physical specimen of the bunch when you consider everything, unless you're considering acceleration and YAC. That's a quality where even if you iso Cheetah vs. the entire WR field in the league, you'd probably pick Cheetah twice over.
