WR Emeka Egbuka, TB (1 Viewer)

In Redraft leagues...would you think about possibly selling High?
Bucky and Evans were sorta quiet despite Bucky finding the end zone on a short pass
You cannot assume this is gonna be the norm most weeks is all I'm saying

I probably would hold but his stock is thru the roof today
You're not going to be able to get any of the top guys for him. What would you be targeting? I'm not afraid of Godwin coming back, he can have the 6 targets Shepard got today.
I understand, it was just a thought I assumed at least a handful might be thinking about

Emeka Egbuka caught 4-of-6 targets for 67 yards and two touchdowns in the Bucs’ Week 1 win against the Falcons.

Egbuka came through after months of hype surrounding the first-round wideout, catching the game-winning score from Baker Mayfield on a perfectly-placed seam ball over the head of the Atlanta safety. The rookie’s 19 percent target share was second on the team behind Mike Evans (25 percent). He made the most of his opportunities, and gained nine yards on a first half rushing attempt on a designed touch behind the line of scrimmage. Egbuka will likely remain the team’s No. 2 receiver, but clearly has weekly upside as a trusted target for Mayfield, who praised the rookie throughout training camp and the preseason. Egbuka will be a top-24 option next week against the Texans.

Sorry for the rest of the NFC south the Bucs have two future hall of fame WRs on their team

In all seriousness, great start for the rookie! In a day Baker wasn’t his sharpest either. Excited to watch his growth this season.

I wouldn’t be too confident in Godwin coming back soon, being as effective as he once was, and dominating targets.

It won’t be that certain or easy.
Disagree. He'll be back in 3 weeks max and will get plenty of targets. He won't be as dominant at least early on but will definitely lower Egbuka's value.

He’s off PUP, but has he even started practicing yet? Godwin is awesome, but that was a truly ugly injury.

And didn’t he have to have another surgery just recently to ‘adjust some hardware’? My expectations for him this year are very limited.

It was down to him or Tet of course I started Tet but good to know he's legit for all of us who drafted him!
Had to choose between them two and Worthy. I unfortunately chose Worthy over Egbuka. Learned my lesson.
Lesson is to be able to see into the future? I think Worthy would have had a good game if it was not cut 58 minutes short, but we will never know!

I did the same. I think it was the right move starting Worthy. We can’t control what happens after we set our lineup. At least we know whom to start this week.

This guy is the real deal. Twitter says that Mike Evans said he called the TD play in the huddle. Like I've been saying in this thread and elsewhere, this guy is brilliant and his intelligence is going to be a huge factor in his immediate success. Wow. David Zach's interview scores are really worth reading.

Love this. I suck at Fantasy Football, but sometimes I am soooo lucky.

I remember in an interview, I believe it was New Heights, Baker said one of the things he was impressed with from Egbuka was that he never leaves the ground unnecessarily, as in he’s always catching in stride, and that his YAC potential is through the roof.

We get a glimpse of what he was talking about on Egbuka’s touchdowns. Just silky smooth motion through the catch.

I read that Egbuka was a five tool baseball prospect that played outfield coming out of high school. Makes sense why he’s so smooth catching the ball.

For dynasty folks who "went off the board" in round 1 rookie drafts, he passed Hunter two weeks ago on KTC. About to pass Tetairoa in 3..2..1...

Don't interpret this as any shade on T-mac or Hunter.

Done deal, #4 on the rookie rankings, and I think there's potential to gain more ground before the year is up. I know dynasty value charts count for nothing, but I definitely gave myself a little heartburn wondering if I made the right choice passing on a physical specimen like Tetairoa. We'll see how it works out, but it's no longer a matter of making the wrong pick, but not selling high if it doesn't work out.

Roh roh. That's a heavy wrap. Might limit him.
yeah he's not right
Other than showing that clip of him being wrapped there wasn't another word said about it (unless I missed it). Obviously something was going on as he was shut out in the second half (which cost me a game) but he was in all the way until the end.

Anybody know what the issue is and if it is really an issue?
I dont know but if you watched you probably saw, they nearly zipped a 70 yard TD to him

yep. not a great pass but one that could have been caught. I could have used that reception as it would have given me the win.

He should have caught that last ball, but yeah this guy is a stud. To think I drafted Kaleb Johnson over him in one of my PPR dynasty leagues :wall:

I did the same. I'm a big believer in always taking BPA in rookie drafts and I had Egbuka ranked ahead of Kaleb but I veered from that strategy in one league where I was desperate for RB's. I won't make that mistake again.

Few here have stanned Booka more than me - I think I was among the very earliest (first?) to draft him at the 5/6 turn - but I think it's important to note that even w/o Godwin on the field, and the team needing to play comeback football into the fourth quarter of both games, that EE is only averaging 6.5 targets and less than 50 yards per game through the first couple weeks.

Good news is he's very clearly flashing the blaring lights that some of us were excited about even before the first preseason game, but until he gets more targets per game on average, I am concerned that he's too TD dependent to be anything more than a WR3 this year. Still an evolving situation, and now add this injury to muddy. It's odd to see so many crowning him based on the last two weeks and now finding myself on that other side of that sentiment to some degree.
