WR Emeka Egbuka, TB (7 Viewers)

Where are the Bucs beat writers at? Absolute crickets on the Tuesday MRI results.

I'm assuming we won't see him until week 10, after their bye week. But I'm kind of expecting he's locked and loaded coming out of the gates for week 10. Is that a mistake? He hasn't hit IR, so I'm thinking that no news is good news on the original prognosis(?)

They don't play until Monday night so they won't have a traditional practice until today. I believe he's already been ruled out for this week? I don't think they'll push him and would expect a return for week 10 as well.

Unless this was a really bad strain, I expect him back in week 10 ready to go.

You hit the nail on the head
With what Egbuka has done the first 5 games , you can't take any chances
I think it's one of the more exciting rookie WRs we've seen

He was on pace for like 1,500/15 TDs, now granted he did much of this with 2 starting WRs OUT
It's scary what the Bucs might have a little later in the season when they get Evans, Egbuka and eventually Godwin on the field at the same time
Honestly, there might some other WRs further down the depth chart than just the 3 we are discussing here...I kinda want to see some more of Tez Johnson,
Locals in Tampa were hyped on him, perhaps it was the camp reports but we got a taste of what he can do last week, insane catch stretching out to grab it in the end zone

I do not have a good feeling about Detroit, I really will be quite surprised if the Bucs march in there and beat them
I'm not saying there is no chance but I think it's gonna be a monumental uphill game for them and they are missing a lot of weapons at WR and RB
I just hope Baker makes it off the field in one piece, I don't care about the W/L as much this week, they'll spank the Saints next week and be 6-2 going into the Bye
Every Bucs fan would have signed up for that to start the season
And I think they will be even better 2nd half of the season when players return from injuries

Rappaport:

“My understanding is that it’s not quite as serious as say Mike Evans, but he is expected to miss some time,” Rapoport said. “He is expected to miss this week. Sterling Shepard is going to be even more important than he already was.”

Do we really risk him reagravating his injury in-game if he tries to play through it.
You know he has to be thinking of rookie wr records. Shocked he practiced in some form today.

I wasn't actually at practice. I own zero shares of this guy. I think I'd use the term kinda practiced kinda loosely. Twitter is great for practice videos. Haven't seen a video of him actually with his helmet on. Lots with him walking and carrying it. Appears he did a lot of walking and looked to jog a bit briefly. Super encouraging for the following week, but I'd put it at not playing this week. Very very encouraging news though considering where we were at with him just a few days ago. He has youth so that's good. What do I know though.

What a warrior!

With this news, I’m gonna plug in Egbuka at WR3 and drop one of my RB stashes. If he doesn’t play, then I’ll use that open spot to pick up one of the Johnsons.

Great if he plays but terrible if he aggravates it and knocks himself out a month.

Being on Monday is rough for fantasy though with 2 games a little helpful and pending league format you could probably back him up with a Johnson or Shepard possibly.

Problem for me is in 1 league I already have Harrison on the bench and Egbuka on bench and would need to take out Worthy or Diggs with the backup plan being Chubb.

Diggs might not play. Harrison has been cleared to play from his concussion . Get him in lineup

It would be monumentally stupid if the Bucs start him. They're 5-1, can beat the Saints without him, then they're on bye. I'm not holding out for him and I hope cooler heads prevail in Tampa.

Counterpoint, what if he just really did suffer as minor a hamstring injury as you can? Like, if he's healthy, why sit him?

This is week is probably pushing it, as he only had 1 limited practice, but I see no reason to sit him against NO next week, if he's able to practice all week, just because they have a bye, and they SHOULD beat NO.

Then you're ultra conservative and probably no worse than 6-2 anyway with a definitely healthy Egbuka instead of a marginally greater chance of being 7-1 and risking the health of your new #1 wr that would actually impact the rest of your season.

No matter what - the good news is that it's not a bad pull at least yet. He practiced.

Steelers Ramsey had the same thing. It was multi-week until it wasn't.

I got this happening right now.

Rice
Lamb
Odunze
Tet
Egbuka

and

Bowers
Kittle

I need to trade now - but WHO DO I KEEP lol!

This is a potential tie breaker in the NFC. If guys can play they should play.

You can’t just throw away games in this league.
