WR Ja'Marr Chase, CIN (2 Viewers)

Playing a high scoring Lions team with a depleted secondary should result in good week for Chase. At least in theory.
The key will be the same as it has been for the Bengals, how much time will Browning have to throw the ball. That OL is so bad right now. Having said that, the Bengals will continue to throw those short passes to Chase to keep him involved. The bad thing is that that league knows that. I just don't see Browning having enough time to throw the ball deep to Chase. If Chase is going to have a decent fantasy game it will requre a lot of volume. Perhaps he can break free on a slant and go the distance.

I predict a pick 6 this week for the Lions when Browning tries one of his 100 short passes to Ja'Marr Chase. The league has caught on to that. If the Bengals were smart they would throw the ball a lot to Chase Brown and Tee Higgins this week to see if they can get Ja'Marr Chase loose on a bigger play at some point in the game. Again, the problem will be how much time the OL can give Browning and from what I've seen thus far, is not much.

The OL problems were troublesome for Burrow, even with his quick release. The OL problems spell doom for the much slower reacting second teamer Browning.

I'd have the nerve to do it in redraft. Don't own those shares.

Browning looks like he receives a snap from a machine with no actual line in front of him at all.

It's a jailbreak on every drop back. He can only overcome that in garbage time. But maybe that at least becomes the norm.

I want to say "sell high", but I don't have the nerve to do it and my leaguemates are wildly trade-averse.
This would seem to be the perfect sell high moment. Browning is a complete disaster.

Only thing that gives me pause is a) the upcoming schedule which outside of this upcoming matchup @GB, looks pretty sweet, and b) If Cinci has any brains maybe they'll get R. Wilson on the cheap (who actually can throw the deep ball).

I may be looking to package Chase and Waller (Have McBride) for a #1 RB and a WR fill in.

Anyone considering benching this week? Coming off a big game but by the time the Green Bay d-line is done with that oline, they'll look like a kiddie's scissor class cut them up for paper dolls

It isn't great without Burrow. But I don't think there will be a day I bench Chase. I just can't. He could score a TD on any catch with his abilities.

Watching the highlights, it looked like he would have been wide open for a third TD if Browning even glanced his way but Browning was staring Higgins down the whole time.

This is where Flacco will be a huge improvement. Browning was unable to go through his reads. If his primary read wasnt open he'd just check it down. He had like a 2.2 ypa in the first half. It was dreadful. Not that Flacco is exactly elite at that mind you.

Now whether Flacco can survive behind this line is another question....

Disclaimer: Whatever the outcome of my question, this is not a complaint.

Did the majority of Chase's production in this one come in a big gift wrapped cluster of garbage time? I wasn't able to clock the scoring progression/narrative side of the game.

Maybe, but with that defense I'd assume he is gonna have garbage points in most games. It was his 2nd highest target game of season in a game Flacco had limited time on the team. I'm quite thrilled. Once Joe gets more practice time with Chase and starts to see what he does best it's only good days ahead in my opinion. He is back to a top 5 wr rest of season.

Some of it but they were sure not slacking off him in coverage. He was actually having a back and forth with one of their CB’s, was getting a little feisty. I think the target before his TD the CB made a good play to deflect the ball and hit Chase with the griddy. Next snap or two IIRC Chase caught a TD over him and the coverage was tight.

Just was not a case of the D sitting back and conceding anything to him I could see.

If you're a Chase "shareholder", I don't know how you could be anything other than encouraged by what Flacco brought on limited practice against a tough DEF, regardless of when the stats came really. Schedule eases a fair bit too. He may be a 40 year old statue but he can still chuck it, gets the ball out quick and can read a DEF. Anything is better than the deer-in-headlights Browning show.
