Yeah been a rough year for LaPorta owners. Partly due to nagging injuries, but the crazy thing is Sam is actually playing just as well as his rookie year. Just doesn't get anywhere close to the same opportunities. Combination of Jamo's uptick and the team running fewer plays / heavier ratio of running plays as compared to 2023.

I think using the regular fantasy season metric is a convenient way to manipulate the data.

He was always going to be a high variance guy. I think, virtually all of us knew that going into the season.

I don't think many will discount yesterday's effort, when evaluating for next season, because it happened in week 16 instead of week 14 or 15. He is currently closer to WR 24-27 in PPG on the season and he will likely be drafted accordingly next year.

WR 24-27 is still below my hopes for him this year, I was thinking he might approach WR 16-18, but he was also a value, so far, relative to his draft position.

There’s not much value in cherry picking even further but it’s worth noting that the news of his incoming suspension broke very quickly after the Vikings game where it almost seemed to me that he was virtually ignored in that game because the team were already aware, almost like they just had him out there as a decoy but were punishing him

Again, when you are evaluating him next year are you going to ignore every game after week 15?

Love it but, as it relates to next season IMO of the defense is healthy and strong we will still see an emphasis on the run game and defense. As prolific as the offense is they sure seem to love to grind opponents into submission.

That is pretty underwhelming, and the playoff schedule looked rough on paper.

Finals - at SF, ranked 32nd in FF points allowed to WRs

Didn't have a great playoff schedule; Weeks 10-11 were his last plus matchup. Weeks 12 & 15 were neutral, Weeks 13, 14, 16 & 17 were all tough matchups in terms of FF pts allowed to WRs. So when you were looking ahead and thinking about your stretch run/playoff lineup, Jamo had four red matchups out of five weeks 13-17.

The Jamo owner in our league started him 9 times in the regular season (out of 11 - bye week, 2 game suspension), but has had him glued to the bench all 3 weeks of the playoffs. He's about to finish 4th though (W-L-L).

I would imagine a lot of people who drafted him in the 8th or 9th who made the playoffs had him as their flex starter. If he is on the bench, they drafted WR really well and did not have any injuries at WR/RB. Having draft targets like Jamo in your back pocket allow you to jump on other positions like TE or QB a little earlier than others.

Without his suspension he could have reached 1150/9, as is he is going to hit around 1000//7. At least I hope he hits 1000 as I have a good chunk money on it.

What i really care about is Jamo helping the Lions get the #1 seed on way to a SB championship. There are only a handful of NFL teams who got better production out of their WR2. There were a lot of chatter preseason that Jamo was a bust which is now been shutdown.

In the 5 high stakes leagues I'm currently slow drafting in or have live drafted this week, this is where Jamo was drafted:

I have kind of been pushing it a bit later and later in each of my drafts before pulling the trigger as I'm seeing so many people avoid taking him until R10+

In my Sleeper Draft, I took Jamo as WR51 at the 9.10 draft spot.

WR48 consensus ADP on FantasyPros, and they break it down as:
WR46 for NFL
WR47 for RTSports
WR48 for both ESPN and Sleeper

18 FBG staffers who do WR rankings have him as WR51, with the highest being WR42 and the lowest being WR69

I'm sure there are some experts out there who love him as well, but it seems Jamo's biggest buzz is coming directly from this thread.

It also comes from Amon-Ra, Goff, Terrion Arnold, Ben Johnson, Dan Campbell and anyone watching camp. What happened is the first few forecaster had negative takes on Jamo, and groupthink has taken over. The vast majority of people lose confidence in their opinion and cave into group-think and become afraid of being wrong and instead agree to create harmony. Going against the group has never bothered me. I would go as far as the negatives against Jamo are utterly absurd.

- his route running looks fantastic
- his hands looks much better
- Goff's confidence in him has skyrocketed
- His speed and allusivenesx is off the chart
- The passing offense is easily top 5
- He has moved from a WR4/5, to the undisputed WR2, but yet everyone wants to use his WR4 numbers to extrapolate and limit his numbers.
- Goff will throw over 625 passes, there is no universe Jamo does no see at least 100.

I would bet $100 against every staffer that their projections is too low.

jamo is on and starting on like 3 or 4 of my championship game teams. one is even an 8 team league where the injuries piled up. but that team just like my others usually start more than two or three wrs. most of my leagues nowadays have two or three flexes no matter if 10 or 12 teams. in a 16 teamer a guy like jamo was a wonderful value. his performance last week propelled many teams to a ship berth i would imagine, especially in a year with a lot of injuries at the wr position

what a godsend had Jamo as my flex in 18 team 1PPR league and Gibbs as one of my RB. Season high score at the perfect time!

Nothing changes on my end starting him as flex.

But apparently winning playoff games does not count in this new fantasy world. A few people seem to hate winning playoff games. Who knew when making season projections only the first 14 weeks count.

I'm curious; did you consider that virtually no one who actually made the playoffs used Jameson as anything other than a bye week filler to get to the playoffs? And even fewer had Jameson in their lineups, barring catastrophic injuries, during the playoffs for the very, legitimate reasons that @Deamon pointed out?

I would imagine a lot of people who drafted him in the 8th or 9th who made the playoffs had him as their flex starter. If he is on the bench, they drafted WR really well and did not have any injuries at WR/RB. Having draft targets like Jamo in your back pocket allow you to jump on other positions like TE or QB a little earlier than others.

Without his suspension he could have reached 1150/9, as is he is going to hit around 1000//7. At least I hope he hits 1000 as I have a good chunk money on it.

What i really care about is Jamo helping the Lions get the #1 seed on way to a SB championship. There are only a handful of NFL teams who got better production out of their WR2. There were a lot of chatter preseason that Jamo was a bust which is now been shutdown.

In my 1 pt PPR 18 team league drafted him towards end of round 7 and Rico round 9 which has helped me get into championship. Still starting with confidence.

I would - this is a revenge game for the Lions, and the weather is going to be good. If San Fran has packed it in for the year, they could put up 50.

Also, the coaching staff pays attention to contract bonuses and milestones for their players, and they'll be working to get Jamo his 1000 yards if they get a lead. Next week will be all business for the team, so they'd probably prefer not to have to think about it.

Yes, he's WR26 (ish) this season and no one should try to diminish that. It semi-validates your opinion, and mine (more mine), going into the season. Take that win, maybe even be like Barry and act like you've been there.

But suggesting he was some kind of integral part to a championship team is kinda disingenuous at best dontcha think?

FTR I stand by everything I said but I have to add that, the way Jameson has been trending I think he became a legitimate play for championship weekend.
