WR Jayden Reed, GB (2 Viewers)

Jason Wilde
On @WISCTV_News3 ~ Jayden Reed doesn't have much interest in the timeline doctors recommend for recovering from a Jones fracture. Overjoyed to be back at practice on Tuesday, the #Packers leading receiver the past two years plans to play through the pain.

Worth reading through this story.

"A league source said Wednesday evening that (Jayden) Reed has a Jones fracture — a break in his fifth metatarsal, the bone that joins the pinkie toe to the base of the foot."

I don't like this. No way that is going to heal properly while playing football.
Yep. And then it will hinder him longer until surgery. Then he'll be shelved to recover. Ugh. He'll probably be in and out of starting lineups all year unless it doesn't hurt...which obviously it does.

This was his de facto status last year anyway with the high volatility in his fantasy scoring.

I have him in my main dynasty league and really like(d) him. But he's been a frustrating own whereby his limited usage makes him a really frustrating start because of the variance.

I’m sure all of who took Reed in dynasty are wishing we had moved him between Y1 and Y2

Yep. Felt like I nailed that rookie draft when I took him in like the second or third. But he cost me some games last year and I always seemed to start him and sit him on the wrong weeks. I frankly would have been better off if he was just hurt.

I roster Reed in 2 leagues, but also have Golden in 1 of those leagues.
Either way, I’d prefer they just put him on IR for 4 weeks to start the season so he heals up (and to give me a hair of roster flexibility)

I might have posted this 3 different times on this board, but getting offered Olave and 2 2nds for him in week 11 was one of the finer FF gifts I've been given.

I still like the player but don’t care for how Green Bay used him last year and now this injury sucks.

Yeah that’s golden

This is the Reed topic, not the Golden topic. Cmon man, get your GB receivers topics straight.

I for one will disagree with this.

Jayden Reed is hobbling in every video we see from practice.

Even if he doesn’t have a Jones fracture (I still don’t think he does) I don’t understand why he’s practicing.

Forget doctors, the coaches have eyes.
Regardless of what the injury is, he needs to take a couple weeks off and rest at a minimum. I know he’s a dog and wants to be out there for his team and he feels pressure with all the other WRs on the team but someone from the team needs to sit down with him and talk about the long term.

I did absolutely zero research before the draft and ended up with this guy only to learn when looking at my roster after the fact that he has a broken foot he plans on playing through all season.

PSA announcement to Reed owners

I did not see any evidence of a foot injury affecting his play throughout the week 1 game. Look great in and out of routes and no sign that I saw of slowing and he was returning punts as usual.

Maybe someone else who watched the game could contribute if they saw something different.
