WR Puka Nacua LAR (1 Viewer)

What kind of offer is needed to get Puka in a dynasty superflex?
higher than the ones offered last week just like the weeks before. i have a lot of puka. no one is offering enough for me to let go. people trying to trade for him prolly think kupp's potential return is a good reason to not pay alot. maybe right or wrong but it means it's not enough.
The allure of the unknown upside…
You have to chase it.

I picked him up before week 1 in a dynasty league. Like everyone else, I love what I’ve seen but should we be concerned that Stafford is at the tail end of his career and a new QB won’t be targeting him the same way, or have the skill to get him the ball? Dynasty wise, I’m thinking this could be a sell high moment. Am I crazy?

Could be. But who is paying WR1 prices for him? Someone could but it'll take quite a bit of shopping. Won't know until you try.

The average owner probably sees him as a really nice dynasty prospect that can help you win your league this year. Unsure about next year but obviously I think this guy is here to stay. Stafford has someone else to throw to that is not Kupp which is exciting for him I am sure.

I got him for 15 waiver dollars (1% faab) before the season start in dynasty. And now I'm playing with ridiculous house money where I hit the make 'em all numerous times at the craps table. This is 1.1 rookie draft production at a minimum. I will ride him until the wheels fall off unless I get an offer to fill out my roster better.

There's a wide range of possible outcomes, both in redraft and dynasty, and yes, one of the potential concerns is that Stafford may not play much longer (or even make it through this season). However, whoever you sell to is very likely also considering that, so it all comes down to "how high" can you sell? If someone's willing to bet on him continuing this pace indefinitely then I would sell, but I doubt anyone will, and I wouldn't sell for a substantial reduction of this pace.

Long winded way of saying, "it depends".

I was offered Diggs for him, so there are people out there (although the guy was drinking at the time and retracted the offer before I saw it)

NFL Rookies: Top 15 highest-graded players after Week 4

Excerpt:

3. WR PUKA NACUA, LOS ANGELES RAMS: 89.5

Every network covering the NFL has talked about the various rookie receiving records Nacua has claimed this season, but even that may only scratch the surface. A look at his PFF grading adds another layer of detail. His 87.7 receiving grade through the first four weeks is second to only Justin Jefferson(90.6) among rookie receivers since 2006. Additionally, his 12 plays of 15 or more yards are the most by a rookie in PFF history over that span.

Puka Nacua is currently outpacing the two best receiving yard seasons in NFL history through 4 games
  • ('23) Puka Nacua - 501 Rec Yds
  • ('21) Cooper Kupp - 431
  • ('12) Calvin Johnson - 423

Stafford is a king maker
I thought that stat list felt weird to me.

Jefferson has 541. And I know this thread is about Puka… but I just couldn’t put my finger on what that list felt wrong at first glance.

11 yargets last week and this week that number dropped to 7
4/26 on the day, hole on the roster but thankfully I had a big day from Mostert

I mentioned last week what happens if he doesn't score a TD,
His ypc since Kupp returned is under 10 if my math is right
Puka either needs volume or needs to find the end zone to make him a quality starter every week

IF Kupp is able to return Week 5-6-7, whenever....
IF Kupp is able to return to anything like his previous levels...
Then I think folks in redraft need to have a come to reality meeting that both Puka Nacua and Tutu Atwell, (one of the best tandem names of starting WRs ever), their targets are about to take a hit and if you think otherwise you are living in fantasy land.

-It's so easy right now to keep shooting up with Puka and TuTu on Sundays, but eventually you are going to be strung out

If Kupp cannot return or cannot play in the way we are used to watching...then this takes on a different arc, all together.

Won't write the epitaph on him, weird game, line didn't hold up in the first half, and then they switched to a run focus second half and had nothing but success. Williams had to run for 120 in the second half

Puka still had 7 targets to Kupps 9

This is where I think we try to buy low on Puka....2 games in and he is still getting almost as many targets as Kupp. I think going forward he will be a legitimate wr 2 still. Who doesnt need that on their FF team?

I was a doubter, but I'm fully convinced at this point (needless to say). My question is, whenever someone breaks out instantly like this, what clues might one have picked up on? If this dude has ridiculous superhuman talent, was it displayed in college? If so, why no hype? If not, why didn't his extreme level of talent show up in college? Scheme can have a lot to do with it, surely.

He was good in college, but had an injury plagued last year, reportedly.

I was on him because of the Matt Waldman RSP - I noticed Waldman had Puka below the hyped early NFL drafted rookies, but above all the rest

6th round in one 16-team dynasty league, 5th in the next (4 mutual team owners so I had to “reach” by a round.

Thank you, RSP. The Puka pick made it worth every Penny and then some.

But yeah - scheme, and a coach with a plan to use a player, can also have a lot to do with predicting future success.

Kudos to the Rams for seeing him and using him correctly
