He's a massive steal if he makes it to either of them in my eyes.TMac a MUCH better fit for Lamb Cowboys then Sutton Bronkies.
:IMO:
Assuming he falls, who rises? Burden? Egubka (sp)?I hear from anonymous sources that McMillan has interviewed horribly for a lot of these NFL teams
Could be just roughing him up so he falls down the boards but the word is he doesn't get off the LOS fast enough mostly due to his lack of focus and enthusiasm
He's terrific after the catch but his college coaches could not maximize his abilities is the word around Colin Cowherd I'll name drop him
I don't know that it's true but this is a guy you could see drop a little in the 1st round
Burden seems like the guy rising at the moment.Assuming he falls, who rises? Burden? Egubka (sp)?I hear from anonymous sources that McMillan has interviewed horribly for a lot of these NFL teams

In his defense of a lack of enthusiasm, Arizona was an absolute garbage team, that he 100% carried. Him and Jonah Savaiinaea are probably the only 2 guys who will be drafted from Arizona. McMillan had 1,319 receiving yards last year, the next highest Wildcat had 323.I hear from anonymous sources that McMillan has interviewed horribly for a lot of these NFL teams

Great one, just listened this morning. McFarland especially seemed to agree with the McShay claims. Said it explained a lot of the same stuff he saw on tape that he was dinging Tet for. They both still have him at WR5 I believe, but that is a far cry from the seemingly unanimous WR1 he has been the past few months.FWIW, the RSP film and data pod that Waldman hosts had Dwain McFarland on and there was quite a bit of material on McMillan (and Burden). Worth a listen.

Over 3400 yards and 26 TDs in 3 seasons at Arizona, but NFL teams are still questioning Tetairoa McMillan?
@pschrags and @danorlovsky7 discuss one of the top prospects in this draft.

If the rumors about Tetairoa McMillan going to Carolina at 8 are true, he’s going to be a massive riser in dynasty.
Like immediate top-10 WR value.
Ari Meirov
The #Panthers are taking Arizona WR Tetairoa McMillan at No. 8. A big target for Bryce Young.
The 6'4", 219-pound wide receiver has a massive catch radius and finished his college career with 3,423 receiving yards.
He will probably move up but I have him at 10 right nowI don’t think he’s a top 5 guy in 1QB drafts. He will, but I’m not sure he should be.

RD 1 | PK 8 - Panthers: Tetairoa McMillan WR, Arizona
The Panthers continue to support Bryce Young with receiving options, selecting McMillan eighth overall, the highest rated receiver by the NGS overall draft score in this year's class (85), which excludes Travis Hunter.

8. Panthers - Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona
Classic "X" to win downfield, on digs, and comebacks. Plus ball skills. Mostly plays to 6'4" frame. Rugged & sneaky dynamic post-catch. Not a big separator but can win w/o that vital skill. Like it for Bryce Young in YR3.
Grade: A

You don't like the destination enough to take him 1.4, or you think he'll be taken top 3 now?
I'm at the 1.3 &1.5 and my initial reaction is great, maybe this convinces someone else to take him 2nd or 4th. With that said, I need to do more due diligence before I pass on a top 10 drafted WR, especially if he's there at 1.5.

don’t know what to think now with Hampton in LA and golden in Green Bay. Hunter is the real Wild card whose value only increased by Jacksonville moving up for him
I think his variance increases. Green Bay needs an alpha but is he that alpha? Or is he just another mouth to feed? If he reaches his potential, I think he can be that top dog. But I would have liked him better with the chargers, commanders or bills just among those teams in that range.I had thought he goes to 3 but reallyI assumed he was my pick at 4 but might go Loveland nowI don’t think he’s a top 5 guy in 1QB drafts. I don't see him in the top 3 anymore, questionable QB and questionable work ethic from the rookie WR is not a goodGreat landing spot for Tet. Clear pathway to getting a huge amount of targets and he gets paired with a sneaky QB solid situation. Bryce had a solid end to 2024 and could still deliver on some of the promise when drafted. It makes Drake London production look attainable.
If you don’t like the player, I get that. But the landing spot was probably near the best it could have been imo. Avoids having to play with a clearly better receiver who will command more targets like Nabers, Brian Thomas, Bowers, Wilson. Avoids QB hell like Browns, Saints, Jets. Patriots would have been a good spot for Tet as well. I guess the Cowboys too but now he’s falling out of the top 10.I don't see him in the top 3 anymore, questionable QB and questionable work ethic from the rookie WR is not a goodGreat landing spot for Tet. I also think it's a good spot, but may have to wait a bit. Old man Thielen will still get a fair amount of targets, as will Legette and Coker. Plus they seem pretty committed to the run game, so not sure the volume will be there. I can see him as a stash away guy that can start paying dividends in the back half of the year.Great landing spot for Tet. Yeah I don’t think he’s instantly a top 20WR, was more of a dynasty opinion. Feels like he walked into a good spot to build a good career on.I also think it's a good spot, but may have to wait a bit. Soon as they made that pick I was hoping for Coker owners to feel a bit lower; because I think the opposite. Tet will draw coverage and be schemed against, making Cokers job easier. And I think he'll reap some of the benefit of Theilen declining/being phased down (won't say out, but think he won't be seeing the target numbers he had the past two years there). This is also colored by the fact I don't think Tet will ever reach the Drake London level of play he kept getting comped to the past few months.I also think it's a good spot, but may have to wait a bit. I agree that Coker will see reduced coverage, but I don't see a ton of volume going his way with Tet and Legette also there (even assuming Thielen is phased out) and a commitment to the run game. Not sure if the Panthers run a ton of 3 or 4 WR sets, but I don't see Coker on the field much in 2 WR sets unless he really continues to outplay Legette.Soon as they made that pick I was hoping for Coker owners to feel a bit lower; because I think the opposite. Definitely fair, and yes it's 100% based on me thinking Coker passes Legette and gets run in 2WR sets. I think Legette has poor catch traits that'll keep his efficiency low as he clap attacks balls/lets them get into his pads. Gotta do better than 50% catch rate I think to hold off Coker. Plus I just think Coker is the better route runner. I see Legette more or less being the clear out, jump ball specialist. Perfect world would have them running more 3 WR sets with Tet now set to be WR1.I agree that Coker will see reduced coverage, but I don't see a ton of volume going his way with Tet and Legette also there (even assuming Thielen is phased out) and a commitment to the run game. ETA: they also seem pretty high on Ja'Tavion Sanders at TE,
Why would he not continue to outplay Leggett? He's the better WR. I think he will be a solid WR2 there, but nothing outrageous, they are still the Panthers afterall. Coker is a nice end of the bench WR on FF rosters.I agree that Coker will see reduced coverage, but I don't see a ton of volume going his way with Tet and Legette also there (even assuming Thielen is phased out) and a commitment to the run game. It’s also possible that Legette improves. Not banking on that but sometimes guys don’t adjust to the pro game as quickly as others. Why would he not continue to outplay Leggett? He's the better WR. He never said that to teams during interviews. It was a video during his freshman year, when some kid tried interviewing him while he was eating.Tet McMillan told teams on interviews that he doesn't watch much football and doesn't like to watch film or sit in the film room
His words not MoP and he was blunt about it according to Russini who made her way around the talk circuit yesterday in that silky blouse she had on
She actually spit out some decent tidbits yesterday, alerted everyone to Jax being a team that was on the move be it up or down
She was right since they were one of the few that traded within the 1st round.
It's not a good sign that he doesn't study film and didn't feel like it was a good idea when teams talked to him about it.
Imagine sitting there and telling teams you're not interested in watching film, at least he was honest
And of course he lands on the Panthers, that info meant nothing to them and that's why they keep picking in the top 5-10 every year
I'm simply repeating what Russini talked about on Dan LeBatard, and she's been eerily spot on with some of her info much to my dismay
I disagree, if it was from some Freshman video then Russini would not have broadcast itHe never said that to teams during interviews. Strong NFL interest in drafting him should be ample confirmation of this. He went top 10. Dallas would have taken him at 12 if he was there. The Rams tried trading up for him. If he was dumb enough to tank team interviews, he would still be undrafted heading into Day 2.
Don't know about Russini report as have not seen it. But there are multiple reports about T-Mac having made that statement when he was a freshman. She said it as matter of fact as she did Shedeur Sanders going past the 1st round
I hate to be this way because I truly am not a fan of Russini at the Atlantic however she was spot on and she was ALL OVER the talk shows yesterday and put herself out there if things didn't unfold as she said they would. I'm not the guy that typically says I'm siding with the Pro Journalist because so many times I point out how jaded or slanted or biased their BS is on social media, however I want to giver her credit for some things yesterday
-The Panthers taking Tet McMillan doesn't mean she was wrong. I don't trust much the Panthers do so they likely drowned out any negativity on him much like they did when they put on horse blinders and traded up for Bryce Young. Not an organization I allow to control the narrative of how they draft and go about their business. The Panthers can say anything they want, I go by the results on the field and the actions by the owner and FO. I don't see them lapping the field currently.
Good luck to TM and Carolina, I'm not a fan of the owner so yes I have a slight bias but they continue to fuel that bias with their actions and results
Thanks DP69 for the post, appreciate the chance to expand the conversation, I respect your POV and how you feel, all good and I'll try and back check some of that, maybe its just as you describe
