I started Worthy in one league last night and I'm pretty stoked for it. I started him as Hollywood was out. What we saw last night is the upside of Worthy, scoring from anywhere, multiple ways.

Once Hollywood is back it will become a lot tougher to start Worthy. Worthy will be sharing snaps and could be a boom bust player. Rice and Kelce (and even Gray) had more targets this game than Worthy.

I don't doubt Worthy's talent and glad I own him but Andy Reid will do Andy Reid things and there will be games where Worthy doesn't score and only gets 3 targets and it will hurt.

Going forward KC found a great WRs that a couple times a game could sneak past the defenses for the big play but the reads in the offense seem to go to Rice and Kelce. Mahomes will find Worthy when he busts coverage like last night but I will be honest I am shaky starting him when Hollywood is back.

Worthy is a perfect fit for this offense (WTF BUF???) but be cautious for fantasy until we get to see what happens once Hollywood is back.

I agree with you on Brown. I'm not on team Worthy or team Brown really. I will say, I bet most of the Brown love, at this stage, comes from him understanding the position better then the very talented rookie. Just feels like Worthy's first year he will be that guy that has a couple of designed special plays a game while Brown, if healthy will be a bigger target guy and part of the normal offense. Imo

No extra love here, just that he will be playing when he's healthy.

I guess if he is injured all year then no worries but Reid will play him. If you are a Worth owner lets hope Worthy keeps crushing it and doesn't look back.

Week one is always a crapshoot , its more likely XW gets open and hits a long one than it is that the D shuts him down, He wont get the best CB Balt has , that honor is for Rice

He's not great, but he's probably better than about 29 or so teams #4 option in the pass game.

A healthy Hollywood Brown is a more complete WR than Xavier Worthy might ever be, IMHO.

While Worthy's speed is elite, Hollywood is an elite separator with a bigger route tree, and can operate in a larger area of the football field.
At this point in his career, Worthy is a straight-9 field stretcher/gadget guy.

Very valuable quick-strike weapon for the Chiefs, but God forbid he takes a clean shot from a defender coming full speed in the opposite direction. He'd leave the field on a stretcher.

I have him in a WR3/flex rotation in high-stakes, non-ppr League, and started him last night over JS-N looking for a circumstance-based big play.

Lucked out, but last night's outcome doesn't move him up in the pecking order. I'll continue to pick and choose my spots to deploy him. Devin Singletary and JS-N are currently his primary competition for 1 spot. In this League, that could be stiff competition.

The Chiefs run plenty of 3wr sets, and their wr room/rotation has narrowed from '23, but if you factor in Mahomies homie Justin Watson, a healthy Brown will probably be in the field in 2wr sets with Rice with Watson and Worthy rotating in 3wr sets.

Now is a great time to acquire Brown on the cheap, IMHO.

Hah this is going to be good. Now, Worthy could have a quiet night if more targets go to Kelce and Rice but that doesn't mean Worthy is no good. Long term I think Worthy is going to smoke more people than people getting their hands on him/stopping him.

This could be a situation where Andy is slow to get his rookie receivers up to speed. Rice is obviously the #1 but even Kelce has started slow.

Worthy is a bigtime play maker but not sure I can start him week to wee at this point. Bestball he is fantastic but weekly he is boom bust. really deep leagues with multiple flex spots you are probably starting him but smaller leagues he isn't a must start right now. Worthy's snap % was only 50 last game.

Last year Rice sat around 50% until week 8 when he started to get 65%+ and then week 14 he started to hit 75%+.

Long term I think Worthy is a great fit for this offense but could be slow going for a while.

I actually just traded Shaheed for Worthy. Agreed I was feeling good on Shaheed but seeing that goose egg spooked me. I think Worthy and Shaheed are both boom-bust but I think we've seen Shaheed's best games and haven't seen Worthy's yet.

With the Chiefs bye week coming up, I'm hoping Worthy sees an increased route-tree and increased opportunities.

The Chiefs straight up don't look good right now. I think they know that. They know they're lucky to be 3-0 and they've got to find a way to get the rookie involved if they want to three-peat.

We don't see it yet. My point is, I think we're seeing Shaheed's expanded role already. And that's great that it's more than last year but it still indicates boom/bust at best. For Worthy, he's already boom/bust, but he's not in an expanded role yet. And I think we should expect his role to be expanded with the nature of his role, his status, and with the loss of Hollywood Brown for the entire fantasy season.

There is greater potential in Worthy for this year than there is for Shaheed, imo.

It may not pay off or turn out that way, but the potential is there and I don't think that potential is there for Shaheed. I think we're seeing what he will be. But we're not seeing what Worthy will be just yet.
