WR Xavier Worthy, KC (2 Viewers)

Active.
:pickle:

Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy (shoulder/ankle) is active for Week 5 against the Jaguars.
Worthy returned to the lineup in Week 4 following two missed games with a separated shoulder but experienced swelling in his ankle on the flight to Jacksonville, ultimately prompting the questionable tag. He is active and will play against the Jaguars, giving the Chiefs their primary option through the air. Inactive for the Chiefs are CB Kristian Fulton, TE Jared Wiley, RB Elijah Mitchell, DT Omarr Norman-Lott, OL Hunter Nourzad, and DE Malik Herring

I need a huge night to have a shot at a dub in my home league. Left so many points on my bench it sickens me.

Couple of those patented 50+ yard Tyreek specials would really come in handy.
I’m way too invested in him. I need 6 points for wins in 3 leagues

I'm in a similar boat- I just need 47 tonight and I'll take the dub where I'm starting him. Let's hope he can get there!

Go us! :hifive:

I just need him to score his normal PPR projection, plus AJB’s 2024 normal production (since he’s not), plus Bowers 2024 (TE premium) normal production (since he can’t) and I’ve got a shot tonight.*

*won’t ask for him to also score Nabers points as I don’t want to be greedy and that might be a tad unfair.

How do we think Worthy does once Rice returns? Does Rice take on the old Kelce role in the offense albeit more prominent and Worthy the Tyreek role?

Rice - Prime Kelce Role
Worthy - Tyreek Role
Kelce - Washed Kelce/Prime Noah Gray Role
Thornton - MVS Role
Brown - Washed Sammy Watkins Role
Brashard Smith - Priest Holmes (lite) Role

No practice today after full practice yesterday. Haven't seen any other details.
Will see what happens Friday but definitely not a great feeling with the Sunday night game

I did grab Thornton as insurance.
How do you feel about that maneuver? I roster Xavier Worthy and I barely want the player, let alone the replacement player.

I grabbed Worthy hoping for a little bonding time between him and Kermit Mahomes but we never got there. Rice comes back next week and I don't think we will see much from Worthy.

With worthy his season will be dictated by health. Once Rice comes back value goes up imo as they will be able to open up offense.

I only did it for Sunday night's game if Worthy is a no go, but I might keep him if the injury persists.

As for Rice returning, I think it might open up more deep shots when teams adjust to cover both Rice and Kelce underneath.

Worthy is wearing a brace, and even though I love the talent and team I don’t love 160 with Rice around. I just accepted Tet straight up in my non-ppr keeper.

IMO as far as Dynasty goes the key with Worthy is how he fits on your team/roster construction...I would not want to count on him as your #1 or #2 but after that he can be a real weapon because he can blow up any week and the floor isn't bad playing with Mahomes (and Kelce getting near the end is a bonus)...add that to how young he is and he is a real asset...you just don't want to be in a spot where you have to count on him to have to do it consistently...at least right now in his career.

I agree, not my favorite type of receiver (fast and light). However, if I were to roll the dice on one I wouldn’t rather have him tied to another QB/offense.

Two weeks ago, Mahomes targeted him twice on go routes and that makes me hold him. I am starting to warm up to the idea he can exist with Rice getting the underneath stuff. Tyreek Hill-ish... not enough out there to give up on him yet.

Such a mistake to keep him this year. Injury aside Mahomes just spreads the ball around to much, unless your name is Kelce. Sick of these single digit games from him.

This is just not my year. Between him, Nabers, AJB and Bowers I feel snake bit.

Don’t forget who comes back next week.

Hahah the overreaction in here is crazy. He was only needed for barely a half of football and the emphasis was to feed Rashee in his first game back. Come back off that ledge ..

I don’t know I’m staring at Godwin just sitting there on the wire (short bench 10 teams). Worthy may have a good game here or there, but feels like a flex play at best.

Sure its week 8 and in non ppr he has a total just a shade over 30 total points. Everyone knows w a healthy Rice his value would sink. He’s the Jamo of the AFC. There will be no consistency

You won’t be saying that next week when Rashee is covered with two the entire game and Worthy gets lose from single coverage.

Worthy is more complete of a WR than Jamo imo .. Worthy runs every route on the tree and is much more physical than him.

I agree, to a degree. IMO he's KC Jamo to Rice's ARSB. Plenty of talent, I think Jamo has more but, I believe he's more of a role player in his offense, when it's at full strength as it is now.

Worthy getting loose the last two weeks was the plan. Others are feeding. Results are avg at best and losing games by narrow margins on top of a slew of injuries and bye weeks coming up brings roster challenges. Rice is their number 1. Dude is primed for monster ROS

Buffalo should've taken this guy instead of Coleman? I don't think so, lol. The Bills needed an X and Worthy is about as far from that as you can get. He would've been more of a bust than Coleman. Worthy can't produce with the best QB in the league throwing him the ball. Coleman would be better in KC.

Not sure how Allen pulled off a good passing game against the Chiefs, but it's highly unlikely to happen in the playoffs. He's an overrated passer to begin with. Comes off receivers way too early and typically gets it done by running around like a chicken with his head cut off trying to make something happen. Their OC isn't too bright, either. Allen is an outstanding FF QB, though.

The Chiefs were missing two offensive linemen so deep shots were out of the playbook. Worthy will be fine .. Teams are gonna aggressively double Rice and Patty will let it rip once Simmons gets back.
Being “fine” doesn’t mean being fantasy startable unless you want 6 points every week.
Then get off the train and go with another skinny deep threat .. Addison, Jamo, or DSmith .. Every situation is different and I’d take Worthy over those three. It’s the ebbs and flows of fantasy. So what, is Egbuka trash now, because he’s been pedestrian his last 3 games?

Worthy has two games over 50 yards, zero over 100. Egbuka has five games over 50 yards with two 100 yard games. Egbuka has 5 TDs, Worthy one. Feel free to keep Mr. 4/40 in your lineup.

Guy hasn't done anything all year. I held out hope for a couple weeks because of the deep shots at the endzone but he can't even get hands on those. Worthy just doesn't seem good.

He’s been banged up. He’s the most critical piece to open up their offense though .. Better in real football than fantasy. Everyone has their own gripes about certain guys but he was a mid WR2 to low end WR2/Flex at the beginning of the year and with that you’re going to get inconsistent production. He’ll be a factor once the line gets situated again after the bye. It could be worse, imagine if you had JAMO .. People were calling him garbage up until yesterday. Just gotta be patient.

Limited today with an ankle injury. So done with this dude.

ETA: Dropped for Pearsall.

It’s only one game, but…

Droppable?
Absolutely not.

But, he's a flex play option, not lock, going forward.
I considered him a flex play option for redraft all year. Not sure what’s changed.
Even when Rice was out?

What's changed is, he has been an afterthought gadget player since Rice got back. I think what else has changed is the perception that he is some kind of big play waiting to happen. He may be the fastest guy ever in his underwear but, when 20 lbs of pads and tape go on his speed seems pedestrian. People seem to be more in tune with that ATM.

The post above was almost a month ago and, if asked again I would ask who is available because, Worthy is not really a flex option at this point, as anything other than a blind dart throw. He absolutely droppable depending on who you might grab instead.

I traded Worthy earlier this season for Etienne, then flipped Etienne a couple of weeks before Rashee Rice came back from suspension. Thank God.

Malik Washington, Jalen Coker, Cameron Dike, you like any of them better?
