How hurt do we think he was last night? Looked electric on his long catch and run but got rolled up on at the end. Looked like an ankle sprain, whether low or high, but he toughed it out the rest of the game.
Not sure he even had another target all night, tbh. Looked like the gameplan shifted to Bateman deep shots and Andrews underneath.
Anyone else keep an eye on Flowers last night? What's your take?
I was wondering the same thing. Aside from the injury, I just wonder if it's similar to the Detroit situation in that the offense is so unstoppable that from one week to the next there is a randomness to which pass catchers eat.
Flowers isn't Amon-Ra and Goff doesn't run like Lamar so in one sense they're very different offenses but I just think there will be this kind of variance and that Henry and Lamar are the only 2 Ravens with safe/elite floors. I was expecting a lot more from Flowers last night that's for sure. He had that bad fumble too not sure if that played a part.
He was just hurt.
When it first happened I thought we'd lost him for awhile. Checked Dr. Chao and he was dead on with it. He was tweeting he had an eversion/high ankle and I don't know how that is different from a normal high ankle injury but he correctly predicted they would tape it up, he would return but struggle to be effective.
Again I have no idea how this is different from a normal high ankle, why Chao felt so confident he'd return when this normally takes you out 4-6 weeks and what his prognosis is going forward. I can only assume an "eversion" sprain is less severe, and I might be assuming wrong.
Not to get into a big debate on it but IMO he's every bit as good as ASRB in real life but as you said very different offenses and different style of players which makes a comp not so easy. ASRB tougher and more consistent at the catch point, Zay more explosive and multi-faceted is how I see it. He's easily the best WR that Lamar has ever had and his use in totality was actually almost dead even with ASRB's entering the game last night. I know he had two low usage games b2b but his usage the other 4 games, discounting last nights game as a mulligan, was really high. He will occasionaly have a low usage game like those two but I truly think it's more of the exception for him going forward, his role is on the increase. All that of course based on him being healthy which I don't know about and at this point I take the approach of planning on him being out and just be happy if he can play.
