Your favorite Super Bowl memory... (1 Viewer)

i'm in row 5 at SB 37 right above the entry into the locker room as the raiders are leaving the field in shame, bill romanowski takes off his gloves and throws them into the stands. i catch one. it's in my SB 34 and 37 shrine (the ones i attended) in my basement.
I would have thrown it back at him.

The very end of SB XXXII, the Broncos first SB win.

Freeman returned the kickoff 22 yards to the Packers' 30, and Favre completed 22- and 13-yard screen passes to Dorsey Levens to reach the Broncos' 35 with 1:04 left. But after a 4-yard pass to Levens and incompletions to Freeman and Brooks, John Mobley knocked away Favre's pass to Chmura with 32 seconds left to give the Broncos the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

I loved it.
I loved it until i found out he was comin back for another year.... Not a fan of the broncos but wanted to see Elway win a superbowl before he retired....

The Vinatieri kick against the Rams in XXXVI. Not only was it the 3rd vital kick of that post season, but because of the situation. The Pats had dominated the game for 3 quarters, but given up 2 quick TD's to the Rams in the 4th quarter. Madden's calling for them to take a knee, and go into OT. I'm screaming that the Pats have to try, because if they lose the coin flip, all the mo' is on the Rams side. Brady pops a lude, and calmly leads the drive, and Vinatieri makes the kick. The only bad part of this is my DirecTV receiver quit that morning, I was in CT on business, and my wife didn't know what to do. It's the only Pats SB win I don't have on tape, to relive forever. My wife bought me the 3 games to glory, but it's just not the same.

It's amazing ... picture that the Broncos win that game instead of the Niners, and hold everything else constant. A win there would pretty much vault Elway over Montana in the ranks of historic QBs, since they'd both have 3 Super Bowl wins.
I don't think it is that simple. If Denver wins the Super Bowl in January 1990, odds are the relationship between Elway and Dan Reeves would not have disintegrated like it did and the whole timeline of who was Denver's coach when would have been altered.

And given the pain Elway played with his last few seasons, it is possible he wouldn't have played as long as he did since he kept playing to try and win a Super Bowl, which he wouldn't have had to do if they had beat SF in '90.
Hey, I agree 100%, but I was going more for the "fun but baseless speculation" angle without trying to bring facts into the picture. ;)

SB wins are a team accomplishment. I thought John Elway was the best QB to ever play, until Tom Brady emerged. I thin Montana was a great QB, but I just thin Brady, Elway and Marino are all better. This is from the modern passing era. You have to consider Otto Graham, Fran Tarkenton, Bart Starr, and many others, but their advantage was more being good passers against defenses designed to stop the run.

The Titans' WR desperately reaching for the GL against the Rams on the last play of the game.
:goodposting: Agreed. Not a fan of either team, but coming up that short on the last play to me was better than any GW/GL field goal.

I still like Bill Don Beebe swatting the ball from the Cowboy lineman as he held it out for the premature TD celebration.
That Cowboys lineman was none other than Leon Lett, who also had the infamous bonehead play that year of trying to recover his own team's semi-blocked kick against Miami on Thanksgiving Day. Major props go out to Beebe, who made that play in absolute garbage time.

Again, I agree, but I'm talking about public perception, not my personal rankings which I haven't revealed at all.

I've seen a few people pick Vinatieri's kick at the end of SuperBowl XXXVI, but my 2 favorite moments came earlier in that game:1) Ty Law taking Warner's pass back for a TD in the first quarter. That's the moment I stopped "hoping for an upset" and started "cheering for the win".2) With less than a minute and a half left on the clock and the score tied at 17-17, John Madden is declaring that the Patriots should just run out the clock and go to overtime. At the exact same time, Tom Brady is lining up to drive down the field and go for the win. OT this, Madden!

Unless your a Packer's fan there is no way you can say that this was the worst superbowl. It was the first win for the AFC in like 13 years. It was also the first superbowl in like a decade that was actually a close game. Imagine that suspense into the 4th quarter in a superbowl. Even Packer fans have to admit it was a good hard fought close to the end game. Winning the year before has to ease some of the pain for Packer fans.By the way I already posted earlier that this was the BEST superbowl ever.

Super Bowl IX:

Franco Harris runs for 158 yards against the Vikings, establishing a (then) SB rushing record. As a 9 year old in western PA, he became my hero. About 5-6 years ago, I was sitting two rows in front of him at a Penguins game and got my picture taken with him!! It's one of my prized pictures in my home office. SWEET!!

Super Bowl X:

When Dallas free safety Cliff Harris came up and taunted Roy Gerela by patting him on the helmet & congratulating him after he missed his second field goal try of the game. Steelers linebacker Jack Lambert grabbed Harris threw him to the ground and stood over him shaking his finger at him. On Dallas' next possession Lambert was unstoppable, making all three tackles and fired up the whole team. GB Jack Lambert!
 Not to mention Swann's leaping catch at midfield which had the bicentennial star at midfield.Super Bowl XIII:

Jackie Harris dropping a sure TD in the 3rd (?) quarter. Broke my heart...ah, no it didn't. Cowboys lose again to the mighty Stillers!!! :towelwave:

Super Bowl XIV:

Just being the 1st team to win FOUR Super Bowls!! :towelwave: :towelwave:
