I'll probably be at the theatre in the LVH for most of opening weekend.
turtlehead peak if you got 3-4 hrs and are in shapeAny of you guys ever hit up red rock canyon? The hiking was pretty amazing. Not as good as Zion, but a heck of a lot closer.
Yep posted pics somewhere in this thread...Any of you guys ever hit up red rock canyon? The hiking was pretty amazing. Not as good as Zion, but a heck of a lot closer.
"That street artist" is all over the place downtown.Going down next Wed-Sat for a coaching clinic. The only thing I'm really trying to do is find that street artist that uses only spray cans and prolly swing by the Rio buffet (I think that's the big seafood one). Maybe take another shot at holdem.

:( Don't know if I'll make it down that way. Of course, I don't even know where I'm staying yet. I found one outside MGM last time which was nice.Fremont in front the nugget there should be two or three of him at night.
I haven't been to Bally's in a long while, but even with the decline at PH, I'd likely go there. At the least you are close to Bellagio, right accross the street (and connected by skyway) to the Cosmo, which imo is the best spot in Vegas, hands down.Plus, what PH lacks at times in class or whatnot of clientele, I do seem to see a bunch of youngin's worth checking out, certainly as compared to Bally's which imo wreaks of old / white trash folk. Again, unless somehow something's changed that I am not aware of (and since I have always tried to stay away from Bally's who knows, maybe that could have happened)Apparently the Harrah's group of properties is the only place they have Mississippi in Vegas and that's what the MIL likes to play. They do not have it at Ceaser's Palace though. Paris is booked when I wanna go. It now comes down to Planet Hollywood or Bally's. Where would you stay out of the two and why? Has anyone been to Vegas recently and physically seen a Mississippi Stud table not the video version?
Bally's isn't that bad. It's a decent room in a great part of the strip. With that said, I'd stay at PH but it's usually more expensive than Bally's.I haven't been to Bally's in a long while, but even with the decline at PH, I'd likely go there. I don't really care if they are unique or not. I love em and people ask me about the ones I have all the time.Thought those spray can paintings were cool until I saw 5 more guys painting the exact same pictures the next day. Nothing unique about them really. Cool idea if they wouldn't have flooded the market.
You can cab or bus ride downtown. Bus is like $5 round trip. Spray can artists there for sure. Just saw some amazing Bellagio paintings a couple of weeks ago.I don't really care if they are unique or not. Planet Hollywood, no question. I stay there almost every time I go to Vegas. You are right on the strip, and it is a great gambling atmosphere, IMO.Apparently the Harrah's group of properties is the only place they have Mississippi in Vegas and that's what the MIL likes to play. That was what we did day 2. White rock loop day one. Turtle head peak was pretty amazing. One of the hardest hikes I have ever done. It didn't help that I completely lost the trail and basically ended up just scrambling straight up. Was also very interesting to see the change in temperature and wind. There was ice and snow at the top, not much just a little bit. It was so windy though I could barely see because my eyes were watering so much. The weird pile of rocks on the top with random stuff shoved in it was kind of interesting. The views of the strip were pretty incredible.turtlehead peak if you got 3-4 hrs and are in shapeAny of you guys ever hit up red rock canyon? The hiking was pretty amazing. Just got back from Vegas, there are 2-3 guys doing this between Ballys down to MGM everyday. You can cab or bus ride downtown. Bus is like $5 round trip. Spray can artists there for sure. Thanks. Good to know. Been awhile since I went to the north side and there's some cool stuff there but I'll plan on checking out the MGM area. Mississippi Stud is definitely in Paris... I love that awful gameI would probably stay at PH but if you stay on the "new tower" of Bally's it its what it is and could can walk to Paris indoors.Apparently the Harrah's group of properties is the only place they have Mississippi in Vegas and that's what the MIL likes to play. A bunch of newish* cool / fun bars tightly packed on Freemont Street East like:Downtown Cocktail RoomInsert Coin(s)Don't Tell MamaHere's a map, the fun is on Fremont but on the other side of 4th out from under the Fremont Street Experience.*From Wikipedia: "A three block section of Fremont Street, just east of the Fremont Street Experience, opened on August 24, 2007 as the Fremont East district. The area is intended to increase the draw of downtown Las Vegas by offering a compact entertainment area of bars and clubs."The only time I've been downtown was about 4 years ago and it just seemed dirty and rundown. Oh, and lots of jorts, fannypacks and fat people scooters. What am I missing? That's not the case. You will find more cousins than on the strip for sure though. Actually, I prefer a night or two on the strip and the rest downtown.
It's the hippest part of Vegas (a low bar setting to be sure, but still....)A bunch of newish* cool / fun bars tightly packed on Freemont Street East like:Downtown Cocktail RoomInsert Coin(s)Don't Tell MamaHere's a map, the fun is on Fremont but on the other side of 4th out from under the Fremont Street Experience.*From Wikipedia: "A three block section of Fremont Street, just east of the Fremont Street Experience, opened on August 24, 2007 as the Fremont East district. Thanks some of these places look decent. Do you think they are worth spending an entire night away from the Strip? Also, are there are any good, interesting places for dinner in the neighborhood? It doesn't necessarily have to be high-end... but something at least trendy and well-regarded.A bunch of newish* cool / fun bars tightly packed on Freemont Street East like:Downtown Cocktail RoomThe only time I've been downtown was about 4 years ago and it just seemed dirty and rundown. I don't think that the best part of downtown are these little bars. The best part is the whole experience which could include some of these little bars if that's what you like. There are a number of good places to eat and drink in the casinos. In particular, I like to hang out at "The D". A very lively casino and then new "Long Bar" is cool. For better eats and more upscale atmosphere, The Golden Nugget will be your place. Gambling minimums are much lower than The Strip, and it's super easy to get around downtown because the casinos are so small and close together, add in the live music and other street scenes and it is well worth an entire evening away from The Strip. Thanks some of these places look decent. Not necessarily. LV Blvd usually moves at a crawl with a bunch of stoplights on the way downtown. Distance wise, freeway is worse, but I'd bet it moves much faster. If you end up on the freeway headed from the strip to downtown are you getting screwed by the taxi driver.
Agreed. I rent a car and the only time to go via the Strip to downtown is before 3PM. After that, I-15 is much faster. I just did several round trips from downtown to the airport in less than 45 minutes. Not necessarily. LV Blvd usually moves at a crawl with a bunch of stoplights on the way downtown. Maybe on a Tuesday night in June he is taking advantage of you. If you are there during an NFL football weekend or March Madness/MMA time...the freeway seems to be the right play.If you end up on the freeway headed from the strip to downtown are you getting screwed by the taxi driver.
Fair points, but the best way to get there is the "take the deuce". Actualy no self respecting FBG would stoop to taking hte bus, but when I'm out with my wife and trying to keep it real we like the cheap options.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_DeuceMaybe on a Tuesday night in June he is taking advantage of you. PH book is okay. I prefer Caesars. For O, you might check the half price tickets booths on the strip. There is one by MGM Grand. Get there early in the AM as these may go fast. Enjoy!Heading to LV tonight. A couple of random-ish questions:1) Staying at Paris, best sportsbook to hang in all day? PH? 2) We want to get tix for "O" on Wednesday, what's the best/cheapest way to do this? No sense paying full price on a Wednesday, right?3) I think that's it.
The Quad (formerly Imperial Palace) is the answer, but you definitely get what you're not paying for.Looking for cheapest casino hotel located centrally on the strip. Suggestions?
Check out the slot machines and bars late at night in pretty much any major casino. If you see a pretty girl sitting by herself, go chat her up.Also - best way to snag a hooker in Vegas?
Well played Kev!Harrah's isnt bad, either. The Quad (formerly Imperial Palace) is the answer, but you definitely get what you're not paying for.Looking for cheapest casino hotel located centrally on the strip. Suggestions?
I have heard that if you go to the center bar at Mandalay Bay and start playing video poker, a hooker will snag you. Also - best way to snag a hooker in Vegas?
It's Vegas. Let's be honest, they are all hooking in one way or another.Check out the slot machines and bars late at night in pretty much any major casino. If you see a pretty girl sitting by herself, go chat her up.Also - best way to snag a hooker in Vegas?
A while back as soon as I left the craps table at MGM two girls came up and asked if I "wanted to party"I have heard that if you go to the center bar at Mandalay Bay and start playing video poker, a hooker will snag you. Also - best way to snag a hooker in Vegas?
Went to the booth, they didn't have O tix. Must be doing good business. I bit the bullet and bought them full-price from the Bellagio box office. $300 for the pair, but it was for my wife's birthday.
