Never ever smoked in my house. Smoking is gross to begin with; I don't want to smell that #### in my house. I even get non-smoking hotel rooms and smoke outside. I’ve eaten enough ####.
A few days of us just 'sharing space' with each other went by. It was weird for all of us but what really got me was my daughter’s attempts to have dinner together or to do something together getting pushed off by my wife. Not to mention, poor Angie was going through my wife saying things to her while I was in the earshot, “why don’t you just ask Ron” (with an attitude) instead of just talking to me.
We can’t live this way. My daughter, above all, shouldn’t have to live this way.
It’s about 6pm, I worked from home that day. Angie showed up with my daughter around the same time as my wife got home when I heard the last, “why don’t you just ask Ron” comment for good.
My daughter was distant from my wife and I; I saw Angie and my daughter looking like being a teen stepsister and little sister around when the parents are fighting. We can’t live this way. I say to Angie:
Me: Angie, please take Daughter out for dinner.
Wife: It’s a school night.
Me: (so everyone could hear) I know it’s a school night. (My tone is not asking, I’m commanding) They’re going out to dinner while we talk. (I give Wife the death stare).
Angie hesitates for a bit while my daughter was remarking how she wants to go eat with excitement. My Wife and I stare at each other with disdain while we wait for Angie and Daughter to drive off. My wife pauses…I’m not sure if she holding back tears or punches. Deep breathes as she fumbles around; I offer her to sit down with me saying I want to talk. She collects herself, pours a glass of wine and sits. The tears start. I didn’t wait for her to talk - I didn’t feel like being the brunt of nonsensical rants of 'what I did wrong', 'what she did wrong' or 'what we both did wrong'.
I just want this #### go away.
Me: Is this how we’re going to live now?
Wife: (nothing)
Me: Us…home…every day with a house full of tension?
Wife: (still nothing)
I lose it, I start saying what I’ll do everything in my power to liquidate every dollar I have until we’re foreclosed. I tell her all the nice things she has will be going while the only people that make money fighting this out in court will be the lawyers. I’m not going to repeat it verbatim but I basically said, I know how to make money and you don’t. I know most of this is not possible depending on when the court gets involved but I’m desperate. It was not a nice conversation:
Wife: You played me!
Me: What?
Wife: Why do you have all these women around the house?
Me: You mean your friends!?!?! (cheap shot, I know)
Wife: (crying)
Me: No more friends around the house. No more public #### by either of us. If we do this, everything else goes away. Also, we need to fix this we Daughter. What you said to her was ####### stupid!
A lot of emotional exchanges took place but it calmed down. My daughter gets back from dinner; Angie says she’s going to get daughter ready for bath time but I insist we talk – I ask Angie to give us a moment.
Me: Daughter, we need to talk with mommy and me (my daughter is an upbeat interested attitude – while smiling).
Daughter: Yes daddy?
Me: I want you to know why I was not home for a few days. I wasn’t working, Mommy and I were mad at each other so I decided to stay at the hotel so we didn’t fight.
Daughter: I know like when I’m at school and kids don’t sit together because they’re fighting sometimes.
Me: Yes, that’s the same thing. We were taking a break. I’m sorry I told you I was staying at the hotel because of work too. I lied to you.
Daughter: It’s okay daddy (she gives me a hug and gives wife a hug - then she tells us both to hold hands and no more fighting "teacher like". There was must more emotion between the two of us thanking Daughter but really no need to express that now).
I’m starting to think she is the only voice of reason in the house.
At this point, I think we're okay.

I have saved my comments until I read that she involved your daughter, and that's complete BS. For that reason alone she should be kicked to the curb. You don't want a "family" you want to be able to see your daughter when you want and not have your wife interfere. Thinkgs are only ok, because your wife realized that if you divorce her, she will end up in a two bedroom #### hole somewhere.
Try for 50/50 custody and do everybody a favor and break this dysfunctional circle.
Last thought, I think girl #3 is innocent. I think she had a good time, enjoyed the good life for a night and went crazy sharing it with her ibuddies. The only thing missing from the updates, is why you never talked to girl #3 again...is it because you finally hit it?
ETA: The relationship with the wife is dysfunctional, not the life style you guys chose. (Not judging)

I'm a single young man with no kids, so it's probably why I'm not understanding why some many people are hammering wife for telling daughter that daddy wants to be single.
Is it because she vilified Ron to their daughter? The daughter is smart enough to know the truth so I'm not sure wife gained any leverage by saying those things.
