QB Jameis Winston, NO (7 Viewers)

Keeping pace with 3rd round pick Mike Glennon...just less TDs and more INTs....and a lower completion %.
:lmao:
Rk Age Year Lg Tm G W L T Cmp Att Cmp% Yds TD Int Rate Y/A AY/A14 Mike Glennon 24 2014 NFL TAM 6 1 5 0 117 203 57.64 1417 10 6 83.3 6.98 6.6416 Jameis Winston 21 2015 NFL TAM 9 4 5 0 164 285 57.54 2159 10 9 80.1 7.58 6.86
2014 was Glennon's second year. His rookie year, he had a 6.27 y/a.

He had a few of those rookie mental lapses this week, but again was impressive for the most part. Evans is killing him. That guy has been terrible this year.

The post game speech.... Damn. It's easy to see why teammates love him.

averaging 83 yds per game (more than megatron, cooper, hurns, hilton, sanders etc). was hurt to start the season. and is 22.

Evans aint killing nobody, he's pretty spectacular. admittedly, the drops last week were brutal. dropped ONE this week

He did drop one this week, but boy it was a third and 14 that was right on the money.

He's also getting almost no separation on his deep routes (most of the time) and is constantly getting forced too close to the edge and not giving his QB hardly any margin for error on deep balls, particularly the deep sideline throws. Winston keeps forcing it to him, though. Mainly because his other weapons are hurt.

again, likely to do with health/hamstrings

This one?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiJ4-ZFcRPA&feature=youtube_gdata_player
That's a funny one. I blasted him for it years ago and of course people thought I was being over critical.BTW here is the speech I'm referring too.

@VeteranScout: Some of the incompletions and one of 2 INTs Jameis threw on Sunday for some perspective. #Bucs https://t.co/8kXV1OjatD
A couple blatant drops, but his ball placement is off on a few of them where the receiver has to adjust and then can't make the play. The exciting thing about how he looks is he's only played 9 games. It's somewhat odd how much his play has improved since the departure of Vincent Jackson. His numbers could be so much better if he and ASJ were on the field to make a few plays for him.

Dye made a great play on a high throw this past week, but other than that I haven't seen many wow plays from receivers.

Yea nobody is helping him out. Every qb makes some bad throws but they get some help too.

The pick intended for Myers definitely should have been caught IMO. The one dye dropped was a horrible pass.

If the ball hits you in the hands you should catch it. The ball placement wasn't perfect, but it wasn't Dilfer bad either.

Generally I agree with this. A few of those passes were basically broke up because of his placement though. Several were just terrible drops.

So is he a top 10 QB next year? Where does he end up?
As long as Lovie is in Tampa he'll be held back from putting up eye popping fantasy stats.
The best way for Winston to be successful is as a game manager like Russell Wilson. The trouble from him comes when you make him throw a lot. He's 1-4 with 5 TD's and 9 INT's when he has thrown 30+ passes. He's 3-1 with 5 TD's and 0 INT's when he's thrown less than 30.

Thanks. I literally laughed out loud when I read your response.

Oh come on. Why not use 29 attempts as your threshold?

The reason for those statistics is because he didn't play well early on in a couple games. If they had let him throw more often against New Orleans or Washington in the second half he could have put up monster numbers. He threw it 36 times against the Giants in the rain and looked amazing.

Even when he's played well and put the team out in front Lovie has held him back. Maybe this will change when he trusts him more? I doubt it though. Lovie's track record suggests otherwise.

Unless Jameis gets a "go for the jugular" coach he'll put up mediocre fantasy numbers.

Yeah, and he's 3-0 when they have more than 30 rushing attempts!!! Just run the ball every down and they'll go undefeated!!!

I can't believe somebody, even cstu, said a guy who can throw like this should be a game manager.

:lmao:
Why is it surprising - I've always said that his decision-making is his problem and compared him to Cutler, a guy with a big arm who makes too many mistakes.

Humphries just dropped #6

edit: Hold would have negated it anyways. Oh well.

He's carving up these hacks. You gotta be playing with your Winston doll like he's your #### lover right about now.
For the record, Philly ranks 16th defensive passing YPG. Good? No. "Hacks"? No.

Why yes, you were hilariously and comically wrong on this guy. Might have to give back that scouting degree you have.
