over the summer, like everybody else, I had today Jan 14th on my EPL calendar for a league deciding fixture between Liverpool and Forest(?!).
It is amazing to think, with all the talk about an LP win ending the title race, United in a relegation battle and all the other ongoing storylines, that we are only half way through the season. Everyone has to play everyone again still.
this was about Forest, not LP.

see the joke went like this...

Forest is playing LP in a big top of the table battle. forest. see... because they're a season away from coming into the league and one place away from getting relegated but now they're hovering at the top of the table. hahaha. hilarious. funny.
Oh I got the joke.

My point still is the same. All the talking heads are acting like we are in the final run in when we are at the halfway point.

See.. . I don't think you do.

Lemme explain again...

Good luck with that. :boxing:

Forest up on Liverpool 1-0 late, Man City just blew a 2-0 lead in the last ten minutes to Brentford. Chelsea losing to Bournemouth.

Forest pretty fortunate over the 90. They'll do well to hold onto a Champions League spot IMO. (ETA: yeah, 6th favorite to finish Top-4)

Liverpool now...

--7 points clear of Arsenal, 12 points clear of Newcastle, 24 points clear of United (ETA for @B Maverick)
--10 points clear of Chelsea, 12 clear of City, with a game in hand

Half watching on my phone the relegation battle between Southampton and United. Would be nice if United could score. Had chances ( Garnacho)

Holy wow. They needed that. Not only a win vs a lower team but a nice come from behind makes it better (yes a comfy win would have been nice, but to keep working and get the comeback helps their mindset)

Newcastle thoroughly beaten. No complaints. On to the next.

Bournemouth are no joke.
when Adams is on his hyper active drugs, he can be scary good, walking that thin line of just barely avoiding a red card while physically dominating the midfield. He was strong today.

I'm going to try to make time to watch the replay. Hes so good at anticipating and closing down space and players.

Watching Arteta and the Emirates bay at the refs about time-wasting nourishes my soul.

6 points clear with a game in hand. At 90' in the BRE v LFC game it looked like it might be 2 clear after today.

@KarmaPolice I am sure you are a lovely guy, so it pains me to say this, but:

I can't help but think your new support and Spurs demise are causally connected...
Lol. You mean a relegation battle wasn't the capper on the season you were hoping for?

At the start of this as a fan of the Penguins and Patriots I was going to jokingly say you are welcome for the upcoming championships and domination, but it so far is the opposite.

Oh, so it's your fault the pens lost last night then. 😛

I can't be blamed for all of this.

Liverpool may not win the title -- 17 games left is a bunch. But...
  • The Klopp-to-Slot transition, against all odds, seems to have been seamless.
  • Liverpool are 1st in the PL, 1st in the CL, in the semis of the League Cup, and still alive in the FA Cup with an lower division 4th rounder.
  • Yesterday Liverpool pull a win out in injury time while Arsenal throws away a 2-0 lead to fall 6 points back having played one more.
  • City are 12 points back having played one more, and waiting to find out just how many points and years worth of justice they're to be hit with.
  • United are in 13th, with a negative GD for the last 60+ EPL matches.
  • Everton are fighting relegation (I don't actually care about Everton, but I'm committing to the bit)
...times are good.

It would suck to see the Merseyside Derby go away for Liverpool and Everton fans alike.

True, but Everton have been due a relegation for 30+ years. If they actually went down, maybe it'd wake the club up as to their failures

1 shot on goal and it was the PK.

I think Amorim can bring them back, but needs to bring in players that can play his system. The bad results will be part of the process of finding who can and who can't play in this system. Need true wingbacks and true 10s. And someone to score. And a keeper. I can not defend Onana any further.
