What in the world is casemeiro thinking?

No idea why they keep running him out there given the young MF's they have available.

I said to no one but myself that they needed to take him off after the first yellow. He’s an idiot when it comes to this - he’s done it a few times.

We knew he needed to come off after the first yellow. And in no world should that have been a second yellow. But Refs hate him so he's off.

More importantly United should have been up a few more long before his red. Amad should have had 2 assists but didnt get his head up or process what he did see. Got selfish in front of goal when he had Sesko open for a tap in or two.
 
Liverpool have a problem with Wirtz. He doesn't seem to have a natural role in the best formation for the team (Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai in the midfield). He can't replace Szobo in the midfield without unbalancing things defensively. Ekitike and Isak are far better as true #9s. And he doesn't provide enough natural pace/width on the left.

The team has enough talent to win most games anyway, but in terms of being a top-X team in the world it's a problem.

Slot might figure something out, but these kinds of problems can be pretty intractable IMO. The team hasn't looked right with him in the lineup yet this season. And Palace are absolutely carving LFC up in the first half. Without Alisson it's three- or four-nil.

Gakpo or Rio or even Chiesa must come in for Wirtz. And I'd pull Konate for Gomez too just to send a message to the team about **** performances.

It legitimately could be 4 or 5-0 at the half if not for Alison.

Gakpo on for Bradley, with Wirtz moving to the #10 and Szobozslai moving to right back. So Wirtz isn't on the left anymore and Wirtz + Szobo not in the midfield together behind three forwards. That's been the heart of what hasn't worked this year.
 
So that was a nice little Saturday.

I think the biggest cheers for United came from Lammens claiming a couple high balls and holding on to them. The first one gave an oddly reassuring feeling. Sesko gets his second goal to excite the fans.

Decent effort from everyone except Diogo Dalot who once again showed how tragically poor he is.
 
Haaland just can't stop scoring. Another hat trick today (so far, game is still going) for Norway. This gives him 51 goals in 46 games for Norway.

I had to look it up. Faroe Islands were 136 in FIFA ranking before this win.(which is higher than I expected) They have a population of 54,000. Crazy.

They are having a pretty amazing run for their size

They are a solid 4-0-3 in qualifying and are only 1 point out of second place (UEFA playoffs). 1 game remaining

It's remarckable. The equivalent for around here would be St. Kitts and Nevis qualifying. They're a similar size island and have been traditionally around the same FIFA ranking. I really hope they find a way through., although it's unlikely as Czechia plays Gibralter for their last game.
