They should have the lottery and the draft about an hour apart. The weighted ping pong balls rigged by Stern, followed immediately by 19 year-olds on cellphones frantically trying to pull a Kobe/Franchise to get traded somewhere else when they're slotted to Memphis or Boston, followed immediately by those same 19 year-olds putting on the fake smile and salamander-colored suits. And the interviews with Mom. "Marcus got his grown man on!"

i'm pretty sure that every year the top pick in every sport is hyped as "the best since X". lots of guys don't live up to be anywhere near that. they've gotta hype the show to generate interest. :lmao:they want us to believe that the #1 pick is going to be the best player of his generation... it's lame.

Not really. Olawakandi wasn't hyped as the "best since" anyone. Neither was Bogut, Kwame Brown, etc.Oden is a rare, rare beast. He would have been the number 1 pick if he had come out as a HS junior. Obviously none of us know how great he will become, but I think he's like LeBron, Carmelo, and Tiger Woods. BETTER than the hype.

working off memory i remember a LOT of hype about Olowokandi and Brown.
 
It would be funny if the Sonics got the #1 pick and took Oden. Funny because it would be about the 5th first round pick for them on a center in like six years.

 
Seattle is gonna move here to Las Vegas....let em get #2 and Durant...he would be fun to watch...
