That said, I think McRoberts was just a bad fit for Duke. He's a complimentary player, and I don't think he dealt well with being the #1 option in Duke. He was the #1 player coming out of HS two years ago, so who knows. He can run and he has size, so he's obviously a good fit.

I disagree. While I don't anticipate that scenario happening (remember, statistically the Bucks likely will draft #5), absolutely a team would give up that much for Oden. He is a once in a generation player - Bill Russell with more height. He will change the game for the team he goes to. Granted Durant has special skills too, but there are 3 guys sorta like him in every draft - long, fast, athletic, can score, can rebound....he is a cut above, but there will be more play to try and acquire Oden than Durant.

Not insane. Simply not going to give away a possible franchise player without the team who wants him paying a steep price. If the price is too steep, fine the Bucks draft Oden and become a MUCH better team the second he sets foot on the court.What would be insane would be to give away Greg Oden without making the team that wants him pay a big price to get him. That's the value of having the No. 1 overall pick - especially in a year where that player is expected to be a franchise talent such as Oden.

With respect to the scenario I presented above the only way I'd deal the pick to Boston if I was Larry Harris is if the Celtics parted with Jefferson. No Jefferson, no deal. Again, I wouldn't make the trade because I like Oden more than Durant but if the Bucks believe Durant is the guy and they end up with the No. 1 pick I think they need to explore trade options that could move them to No. 2 and get some valuable pieces brought back in return.

I really feel for KG and inwardly hope that Minnesota comes out with the #2. Durant/KG/Blount would be an awesome frontcourt. If we got oden, how would our formation adjust? Two in the post? Either way, i would be ecstatic. We'd have a defensive powerhouse if oden, and a terrifying frontcourt if durant.

He wouldn't be a throw-in. He'd be a key way for the Celtics to get Oden - assuming that's the player they covet. They have nothing else to offer that would be in the Bucks' interests other than Jefferson and Pierce. I can't see them wanting to trade Pierce if they want Oden but Jefferson could be expendable. You could plug in a role player at PF between Pierce and Oden in the frontcourt and still be pretty darn good.

Oden is a phenomenal player, no doubt. He will immediately improve the rebounding and defense of whatever team he joins. His locker room presence will likely be a positive. There shouldn't be much worry about his off-court behavior. He clearly has some serious offensive talent, even if it wasn't on display much this season.

Let's just quit comparing him to the best center ever before we know what jersey he's going to be in...

Oden is a phenomenal player, no doubt. He will immediately improve the rebounding and defense of whatever team he joins. His locker room presence will likely be a positive. There shouldn't be much worry about his off-court behavior. He clearly has some serious offensive talent, even if it wasn't on display much this season.

Let's just quit comparing him to the best center ever before we know what jersey he's going to be in...

Sure, find me the articles calling Harold Minor "the next Michael Jordan". His nickname was "Baby Jordan" that does not mean people thought he was the next Michael. Probably some kid on blacktop called him that and it was catchy and stuck.Don't provide links to articles saying Harold Minor never became the next Jordan, or articles that say he had been compared, find ones that actually favorably compare him to Jordan coming out of college. I don't think you will find them. He lasted until the middle of the first round - if anyone thought he was anything more than Shawn Respert, he would have gone top 2 or 3. He was saddled with a nickname (which of course he embraced - it probably earned him some cash), but as I recall there were never truly comparisons.

Perhaps.But you seem to have no clue of how bad a deal of Jefferson/Durant/Future #1 is for the Celtics.
