Out of curiosity, who was your starting QB before this?

I have Cam. I'll probably trade one of the two QBs at some point this season.

That would have been a decent deal if harvin was healthy, let alone now.

I have my doubts as to whether Amendola can stay in one piece for part of the year, let alone the entire year. In the long run the guy getting Harvin will win this trade. Has Amendola ever been healthy for very long?

That thought crossed my mind. The worst case scenario from my perspective is that Amendola goes down in week one and Harvin returns at 100% later this season. In that case I'll consider this trade a loss, but I like Wilson enough that it still wouldn't be catastrophic IMO. If Amendola stays healthy, there's considerable upside. Thought it was worth a punt. Harvin is a great player and the best asset in this deal if healthy, but he has some durability issues in his own right.

Yes. Outside of last year's injury he had only missed 2 games prior to last year. His injuries are exaggerated.

In a start 1 RB league, Gronk is worth more than this by himself, in my opinion. In a 10 team league with 7 starters - 2 flex - it's harder to get a consistant advantage. Gronk is just that. Spiller is an average, perhaps below average RB1. Gronk/Graham would both be top 5-6 players in this format, in my opinion.

I think I agree with this...Spiller is a top notch RB but in a TE mandatory..Gronk can put you over the top.

Seems pretty even to me swapping the NE backfield (haven't had back-to-back 1000 yd RBs in forever so that may lower opinion on Ridley repeating last year's stats, plus questions about NE offense being so in flux) for up-and-comer Miller in the Miami backfield (shiny new toy with upside syndrome).

A lot of people are high on Michael long term. I understand why but there are risks. I'd say he HAS to pan out as a future #1RB for that trade to favor the side landing #####cat harvin.

A lot of people are taking a stance on Michael that he is worth as much as Gio, and that's fine. You can make a similar stance on Randle, really, and assume Nicks will get signed by the Panthers next offseason and Randle becomes a top 15 WR.

The main bet here is Gio's share of the offense in 2014 vs. Harvin's share of the offense in 2014.

Well, then we agreed. But I don't think it's by as much as you are implying. I guess it depends on where you value Michael vs Gio. Because I don't think they are a wash and have Gio > Michael.

I do prefer the side getting Harvin, but not by a ton. Suppose I'm just higher on Gio then most.

Bernard's ADP is 36 according to DLF. Maybe we can agree he is overvalued at that ADP but it would cost a lot to acquire him. Taking a step back, I'm mainly responding to the "oof" classification. It's reasonable to say you'd rather have Harvin but I think Bernard carries more value right now. I think this trade reflects that as Michael has more value than Randle IMO.

Gio's 2013 production is 2ndary. He's a young RB. He just has to show he belongs this year to solidify his value. Similarly I think we expect Harvin to not be 100% even if he comes back this year. He doesn't have to be a useful player this year either. As I said, the bet is on who is more of a focus of the offense in 2014.

Sure young RBs are gold in dynasty circles so I can buy it (Gio > Harvin) - even if I wouldn't peronally adhere to it.

Gio, Michael, and Randle are all pretty similar -- good young prospects that could go either way. None of them are elite prospects, but the NFL thought highly enough of all three to invest high picks in them. Ranking them is a matter of personal preference, team need, league specifics, etc.

We do know exactly what Harvin is -- assuming PPR he has two top 10 PPG finishes in a row under his belt and a well run NFL franchise (that also offers a massive QB upgrade) just made a huge long term investment in him.

Non-elite prospects are darts -- I like Giovanni Bernard personally, but he is what he is, a high 2nd round RB, and realistically his chances of becoming a Percy Harvin level difference maker in FF are waaaaaaaay below 50%.

I will say that I don't see that Harvin's value has changed too much in any of my leagues -- I've been trying to buy him everywhere since the trade and sent out another round of offers after the injury -- no luck whatsoever.

Seattle also signed Zach Miller to a large contract and haven't really got him too involved in the offense. Granted they didn't give up any draft picks but it was, and is, a pretty big contract for an average of 33 catches per year. Personally, I think they had big plans for Harvin and lean to the Harvin side of the trade but the perception of being injury prone seems to have dampened his value somewhat.

for a guy who has played 1 full season in 4 year...5 if you count this season and never having over 1000 yards receiving or more than 6 receiving TD's this guy gets a lot of love...

I guess it depends on your type of league. The ones that I play in also give points for rushing yards, all TDs and receptions. He's money!
