- There were three kickers whose score on my site was 1 point less than the official score on FBG this morning. I adjusted their scores so everything on my site should now match the official results for week 1. I'll look into why this happened, but my initial suspicion is that it's an issue with the stat feed and if that's the case these types of small discrepancies may be unavoidable. I'll do my best to have everything as accurate as possible but once again, my results should always be considered unofficial.

If you only have 1 (or 0) linked entries on the site you won't notice a difference, but if you have more than 1 they should all be showing up now (let me know if they don't). Every year there's someone who submits an entry with 20+ kickers, and it's a bit of a thread tradition to watch how long they survive.
I've got my personal stats workbook up and running, so I'll throw a few more tidbits in every week, like:
The Parasite (or the Good-Luck Charm): Brandon Gibson. The guy's owned on 66 teams, scored all of 1.9 points last week...and every one of those teams survived. Only three other guys had a 100% survival rate (David Nelson, Dion Lewis and Stepfan Taylor), but Gibson is on more teams than those guys combined.
The Curses:
Eddie Lacy: 277 Lacy owners were eliminated. Over 1/3 of the eliminated teams owned him.
Wes Welker: 25% of Welker owners were eliminated (only 5% of teams were eliminated overall).
Teams by position:
QB: one team had 17 QBs and another had 16. Both were eliminated. Two of the three teams with 15 QBs survived.
RB: five of the six teams with 12 RB survived.
WR: the team with 16 WR survived.
TE: the team with 11 TE survived.
K: 23-kicker-guy survived! 17-kicker guy did not.
D: both 10-defense guys survived.

I think he should:I guess Alfred Blue doesn't get credit for that blocked punt TD
I checked and it wouldn't have made any difference in the results (i.e. there weren't any teams that were eliminated that otherwise would have survived if Blue had been given credit for the TD).
Not sure if Drinen is following the thread but this is probably something he should look into going forward.

Not happy with my Zac Stacy pick so far.
But I backed up Stacy with Cunningham, and I think it's safe to say that running game will see much better days.

The one thing I have never been able to understand about this contest is why there are so many junk entrys.They are fun to look at but the prizes arn't exactly chicken feed so why do folks do it?Guess I should be happy increases odds for me just doesn't make sense to me.jdkapow said:This is really awesome. Never handcuff in this contest. A lot of luck is needed, so no point in trying to hedge your bets. You either bet on Stacy staying healthy/keeping his job or you bet on Cunningham taking over for some reason. In your case, it was only $3 so pretty mild, but every dollar counts.jdoggydogg said:

Generally I agree, but I don't think it is a big deal to spend $3 on Cunningham to lock up the STL backfield. No team is going to avoid wasted money, so $3 might be better spent there than a random $3 flyer. Any more money than $3 I would probably agree though. Personally I just don't believe in the STL offense so I didn't spend the money for either.

I know about the query tool, but I dont think it will show the player on the most teams or the player on the fewest teams. You have to pick the player, then see their results.

I think this has what you're looking for. The player percentages haven't been updated to reflect the week 1 results yet, though. I'll probably do that tonight or tomorrow.

Yeah, but I don't view Cunningham as a handcuff. Like Carlos Hyde, I think Cunningham has the potential as a flex. And at $3, that would make Cunningham a bargain.

Luck comes into play for:
1. Using a player that's starting the season on suspension - hoping they don't do something else knuckleheaded and get suspended again.
2. Mostly blind luck in avoiding players that unexpectedly get suspended in-season.

I added a contest querier for 2014 to the website. It can be found here:

It doesn't do a whole lot yet. Like the FBG querier, you can search for teams with a certain combination of players (this one goes up to 10). I also received a request via email to allow you to get the weekly scores for all players in one spot, so I added that as well. That way you can just grab them all, copy them into Excel or whatever and do whatever kind of analyses you'd like.
I plan to add more features to the querier when I have time, so if there's anything in particular you'd like to see incorporated please let me know.
