2014 Subscriber Contest is LIVE (5 Viewers)

Looking great this week with 213.3, then I get the Ingram news and damn. At least I went heavy on running backs, hopefully Pierre picks up his slack and Ball gets on track.

Sitting at 140 w/ Hilton/Nicks -4.6; Ertz- 9.5; and my low flex of 9.2 that 1 of those guys may take. I'm guess a 150ish score, which will hopefully be enough.

Losing Ingram's gonna leave a mark going forward. All of a sudden, not having a bunch of byes in week 4 looks like a much better call, albeit due to dumb blind luck.

Can someone remind me next year to never, ever, ever pick Torrey Smith in fantasy football or this contest????

Every year, I get him on my team and every year he disappoints
It's funny. Every year he's supposed to blow up, and every year I pass on him in every format.

Suggestion for Iggy - don't know how hard it'll be. Is it possible to set up a query to get how many players are going on Monday night for teams that are alive. I've done this by hand in previous years for those sweating The Turk :)

-QG
Hey QG, I added a module to the live scoring page that will appear on Mondays and show the live ownership % of all the players in the Monday night game. Is this kind of what you were looking for, or is there something different you're looking to do?

Damn, just gotta donate now. This is AWESOME.....appreciate the work immensely.

Hrmmm. Cut line is creeping up on me. I'm at 135 with McCoy going tonight... starting to get a bit nervous.

I love this idea, I'll work on it later this week.

for Iggy: look into the Chosen jQuery plugin, turns dropdowns into dropdown with search filtering. It's pretty simple to add and apply.
Thanks, this looks cool! I don't want to bore the thread with code talk but I may have some questions for you later in the week, I'll shoot you a PM if you don't mind.
Not a problem, feel free.

Well, that Sproles TD just put me under the cutoff by .35 points. The good news (I'm scraping bottom here) is that I get all of Vinatieri's points from here on out. Still need two more points from the Colts D before they start counting. Would a pick six be too much to ask?

i'm all in and at 10680 right now.

Finished the week with 193.5 points just outside of the Top 1000. Really high cutoff this week, too.

Losing both Moreno and Ingram to long-term injuries really stings, though.

Would be nice to get one of them back in time for McCoy's Week 7 bye but I'm not optimistic.

Yet another uninspiring advance. Only 1 player north of 20. You can survive the early rounds without some scoring eruptions, but once you get 4 or 5 weeks into it, you need to have some of those 30 point efforts to cover your injuries, byes, etc. Basically shaping up to be another solid, unspectacular team that has no realistic chance of surviving to the end.

Looks like I nailed the scores this week.

The survival rates and queriers have been updated to reflect the official week 2 results.

This is the one and only time I will say this ever in a contest like this - I hope I am eliminated next week. My RBs make me sick to my stomach. I can't stand having to root for pieces of junk like this. (I've got both Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson)

My RBs:

Doug Martin

Ryan Mathews

Ray Rice

Knowshon Moreno

Andre Williams

Jonathan Stewart

Needless to say, I'm out. I think next year I'm going to load up on bargain RB's and ignore all the high-mid priced RB's. It's only week 2 and I feel like half of the RB's in the league are injured already. I could probably have rostered every top RB's handcuff and still been alive right now.

Agreed. Next year I'm definitely going to max out the roster at 30 and be sure to grab mostly bargains. I tried hard to go balanced and some of the more expensive players are already banged up. Need more depth next time around.

Awards and notable teams of the week:

Strongest Living Team: Entry 113564, averaging over 221 points per week.

Strongest Dead Team: Entry 102664, averaging 182.65 points per week (see Icarus Award below).

Safest Team: AdamAfrica, Entry 102306, never less than 71.5 above the cut line.

Just Skating By Award: Entry 109164. Beat the cut line by 0.15 in Week 1 and 0.3 in Week 2.

Icarus Award: Entry 102664. 11th place in Week 1, eliminated in Week 2.

Woulda Coulda Shoulda Award: Entry 102640. Eliminated in Week 1, would've been 24th in Week 2.

Notable Teams:

QBs: Wow. The seven teams with 13 or more QBs have all been eliminated, as have three of the four teams with 12 QBs. Congratulations to Jackelope, Entry 106645, for surviving!

RBs: Of six teams with 12 RBs, four are still alive.

WRs: Chochi, Entry 110213, is hanging in there with 16 WRs.

TEs: ffdrunk, Entry 109318, and his/her 11 TEs are alive and well.

PKs: 23-Kicker Guy, we hardly knew ye! Same goes for 17-kicker guy. 15-kicker guy, Entry 106583, is still with us!

EDFs: The five teams with 9 or 10 defenses? All gone. The nine teams with 7 or 8 defenses? All alive. Not sure what that means.

And me, you ask? Alive and well, 710th in overall average.

More to come later...

And now the players:

Eliminated Players: None. Every player in the contest is still alive on some team or another. Three players--Wes Welker, Charles Sims and Tiquan Underwood--have seen over half their teams die.

The Survivor: Darren Sproles. 94.9% of teams with Sproles are still alive.

The Parasite: Jackie Battle has a 90.9% survival rate, despite contributing zero points so far. But he was only picked on 22 teams. Dri Archer and his 0.4 points were on 394 teams, 84.5% of which are still alive.

The Martyr: Matthew Stafford has scored 31.5 and 18.35 and yet over 30% of his teams have died.

Dead Money:

By my count, 17 players are out of the contest, either by virtue of IR, suspension or simply being cut (these free agents could get back in, but I'm counting them as dead). These seventeen guys cost a total of $78 in the contest, paced by Ray Rice's $18.

Please let me know if I'm missing anybody: other than guys who were regular cuts, I only have Ray Rice, Sam Bradford, David Wilson and Daniel Thomas as out for the year.

There are 2201 teams still alive that have at least one dead player.

The Dead-Money King: Entry 114187, still alive despite $30 in dead money from Bradford, Rice and Alex Henery.

I believe Daniel Thomas was resigned by Miami yesterday.

Pretty 'meh' first couple weeks with the exception of Graham. Hovering around the 180 mark each week.

Fun reads jdk.

Glad to see all of my players except bailey and the fins d score, all 3 TEs count, and knock on wood, no real injuries so far.

Good stuff, how did you check your overall?

Pretty solid start so far with around 200 points each week. Very concerned about week 4 as I went with the 1QB strategy with Manning and he is on BYE, Ingram is missing some time and RB is my weakest position, and only have 18 players.

As one of those guys who pretty much spends the $35 to enter the contest, I have to conclude that this year, it was NOT money well spent. Done after two weeks. When you miss by 2.3 points, you have a ton of people you can blame. I'm blaming Andrew Luck, who's not even on my team. But without that INT, Vinatieri gets the FG that keeps me in another week.

I now have to hate Luck until whatever week I would have been eliminated anyway. Which sucks, because he's my QB in 3 of my 6 leagues.

FLuck

Cleared cut line by a combined 7 points in the first two weeks. With all the injuries last week I might stick around for another week or two, but pretty much just waiting for the axe to fall at this point.

Postseason contest will be around in about 15 weeks

Wish I could get the Latimer $6 back to add another K or D. Freese, Indy & Pittsburgh look like brutal choices. Should have listened to the 3 K & 3 D advocates in here.

Survived again, but no WRs above 10 points.

Sometimes you get what you pay for:

WR Roddy White

WR Kelvin Benjamin

WR Justin Hunter

WR Torrey Smith

WR Malcom Floyd

Made the cut by 5 with AJ Green, A Peterson and zero from my tight ends! I was shocked when I checked this morning.
I'm also limping along at five points above the cutoff with a zero from my TEs (Reed, Eifert, Richard Rodgers). If that doesn't turn around in a hurry, this is going to be a short run this year.
