2015 Oakland Raiders Thread (2 Viewers)

Hadn't heard that but that's pretty moronic. Got a source? Sitting destroys his value and he won't get drafted any earlier next year.

Clemmings and Jake Fisher would be next for me then, with Danielle Hunter as a flier. Pure speed edge guy with huge athletic freak potential and upside.

Jake Fisher is gone. he was drafted by the Bengals already.

guard tomorrow?

Corner?

Another d-lineman?
Would like to see us address these needs with a solid upside pick, like Clemmings or Bennett. RB like Jay Ajayi might also be a good look -- he's slipping because of the knee issue, but I like the size, speed, and can use his hands. Ball protection is coachable. And he sets us up well when our lease is up and we move to the UK. :P

Stefon diggs. LOVE him this late.
I would love Stefon Diggs as well. He would be near the bottom of the depth chart at first but where he could really help the Raiders early on in his career is in the return game. I believe in time he would work his way up the depth chart as well.

Draft Grades for the first two days from NFL.com.

Oakland Raiders

Draft pick: WR Amari Cooper (No. 4 overall), DLMario Edwards Jr. (No. 35 overall), TE Clive Walford(No. 68 overall)
Day 1 grade: A+
Day 2 grade: A
Overall grade: A
The skinny: Jack Del Rio could have built his defense around Leonard Williams and Khalil Mack, but grabbing the safest player in the draft was a nice way to start things out. Cooper can play inside and outside and gives QB Derek Carr a much needed safety net who will catch everything thrown his way. After nailing their pick with Mack last year, these were not the Raiders we're used to seeing on the first night of the draft. Throw in a top-tier defensive lineman like Edwards, who can play everywhere, plus an athletic tight end like Walford, and GM Reggie McKenzie is stocking the roster with young talent.

Now you just want guys that can make the team.

Taking another WR seems like not the best use of draft picks. Every pick, if they make the team, pushes someone else off. Coop/Jones/Streater/Crabtree/Holmes/Butler. That's 6 right there. Are we really dying to push Butler off the roster?

Guard? Lamar Mady has a roster spot right now, any G drafted should take it. Hole--fill it. Whatever round, any kid with more upside than Lamar Mady.

Defensive end? Still a need. Tuck/Edwards. That's it. CJ Wilson probably safe, but Autry or Mayowa? I'd give Trey Flowers their roster spot right now.

Defensive tackle? You know, there's a bunch of interesting guys left. A bunch. Williams/Ellis/McGee.......Lumpkin? Roster spot!

Cornerback? Hayden/Carrie/McGill........Dockery? Thorpe? I could see us going either way here. Wouldn't be surprised if they held tight.

Running back? Seems set, but if they wanna draft Ajayi here, CYA TRICH! :$:

Tre Jackson or TJ Clemmings seem about right. Most in here were calling for either of those guys in the 3rd...just sayin'.

And I wanted Digi in the 2nd, which we now know would have been a horrible reach.

The Mario Edwards thing is interesting. There was 1st round chatter on him, but I heard motivation and weight problems, and put him in the Reggie-no-Like list, with Gregory and the baby-mama-slappas.

Sunseri being here, and Edwards being surprisingly frank about his shortcomings makes me feel better--But I still wanted Preston Smith or Digi.

I have no problem with a guard here. But after going WR/TE two of the first three picks, we better get some defense here soon, kiddies. We can use another CB, S, MLB, DT, and two more DE. That's all, then we good....... :(

Lots of guards left, lots of DTs as well, actually.

Kinda rooting for Josh Shaw, the CB from USC.

I would like a Tre McBride and all that, but really, rather sign DeAndre Smelter as a UDFA, and redshirt him a year on the IR.

Raiders traded their 4th to the Panthers for their 4th (20 spots lower) and picked up a 5th and 7th.

Three young players instead of one. Effing love it.

Potentially, but watching Darryl Williams go with that pick hurt, he'd have been a very good fit there. I hate trading down trying to get cute and missing out on "the guy". If those picks work out great, but there are a lot of value guys on the board right now and they could all be gone by 124.

We have our starting tackles, Panthers needed a body. They had a screaming need.

This team still needs depth. We need a LT eventually, for sure, but there are corners, DT, DE, and safeties all there. We need a bunch. Coming out of this draft with 9 instead of 7 players is nice.

They need good players more. Clemmings and Tre Jackson gone now too (watching on DVR), that was a huge potential value. I get it, those extra picks can add value, but at the expense of a better player is counter-productive. It will obviously be a few years before we know, but these aren't 2nd/3rd rounders we're getting for early pick trade-downs, they are a 5th and a 7th.

Deleted that by mistake. ATL just grabbed Jarrett. :(
What kills me abou this, is I bet Feliciano would've been there with the next pick. Jarrett is a bowling ball. Who knows with these guys but I think ATL will use Jarrett at 3T and he will thrive. I would've been so stoked to get him this late.

Gabe Jackson looked a lot better than Feliciano as a prospect that's for sure.

This Heeney speedball is interesting.

Love getting a TE. More defense please.

Dubose is an interesting pick. I remember him being highly recruited out of high school 5 or 6 years ago. I don't follow Florida football very closely so I don't know what happened to the kid.

LB Jacoby Hale headed to Oakland Raiders. Missed a lot of last season, but he's athletic and can help on special teams.

Harper reunites with Carr, could be a nice slot receiver, and we could sure use one. Should come into camp on the same page with Carr. Who knows, he could stick.

I absolutely loved this kid at Fresno, but the fact of the matter is he feasted on terrible competition for the most part. And he's not gonna outrun any corners on this level. Slot WR in some version of Chip Kelly's offense would be a nice fit.
