2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs: All hail the Blackhawks, mudbutt (1 Viewer)

As a Leafs fan, I don't know weather to laugh, cry, or #### my pants.

It will take all 8 years to work this out

Its a heavily front loaded deal also!

Why would you care enough to #### your pants????

It's not your money and it doesn't effect a cap...

I'd be happy if it were the isles.

Toronto is a disaster, nice job Mike. Thanks for your time in Detroit, not a bad run but it could have been better.
yeah I feel like they should of beat the ducks in 2007, and Pit in 2009. Should have at least 1 more cup

Love Babs, but the collapse against Chicago two years ago and TB this year makes me kinda feel like a change is needed. 10 years is a long time.

bring up Blashill and the kids.

It's pretty tough to pin that all on Babcock - they did lose one of the greatest Defensemen in the history of the league. Babcock's a great coach with or without Lidstrom but they beat the Hawks with Lidstrom - he wouldn't have allowed that collapse. Not many teams in any sport survive the departure of one of the GOAT's

Babcock hype is ridiculous. good coach but jesus, it's just a coach.
Agreed, unless Toronto turns around it's scouting, drafting, and farm system Babcock won't have enough to work with.
Jim Harbaugh turned around a franchise that was mediocre for a decade in his first season with the same personnel. Granted, I personally feel a football coach is by far the most influential of the four major sports, but putting the right coach into a decent situation can have drastic results.

Not saying that'll be the case here, but I understand paying top dollar for the guy you believe to be the right man.

Babcock is a good coach but it seemed the Wings were OK if he stayed and OK if he left. They never really made any effort to sign him last summer. I think many in the organization felt it was a good run but time for a change. The reason I will miss Babcock is the same reason I miss Jim Leyland..the post game interviews. Both are known not to mince words.

Tim Graham: Sabres livid for way Babcock handled past few days. Sabres so confident he was coming that they were prepared for Monday news conference.

Unless he told them 'yes' and then went and signed with Toronto I'm not feeling a lot of sympathy here. Pretty common for a prospective employee to pit multiple offers against each other if they are able in order to get the best deal for themselves.

The niners team was on the verge. Loaded with talent. Jim harbaugh was the thing that put them over the top.

The leafs. Not so much

I seem to remember that Jim Harbaugh and his brother, John, shared a room when they were growing up. #keytosuccessJim Harbaugh will likely be the second-highest-paid coach in college football next year taking home $7.0 million, trailing only Nick Saban of the University of Alabama ($7.2 million). Harbaugh's first-year pay will include $5 million in salary and a $2 million signing bonus according to the Detroit Free Press.Dec 31, 2014

I said months ago he was going to Toronto. He played Buffalo and Detroit to get what he wanted financially. Take it or leave it I guess.

I actually do like the Leafs roster core and Babcock is s nice fit that should make a difference. I'm just saying they hype this is getting is ridiculous. The whole thing has overshadowed the conference finals...for a coach signing.

He is the best coach in the world. Just sayin'.

Woulda been huge coup to get Rex & then Babcock in Buffalo. And it does seem that in hockey more than other sports that good, winning coaches continue to win with different organizations like Quenneville & Boudreau have done. That's why I hoped for Babcock or McLellan. Can Bylsma be same type of coach? Is record inflated by Crosby/Malkin or impressive due to amt of games they've missed?

This has to be one of the stupidest rules in the NHL.

Because Chiarelli and McLellan will still be paid by their former teams next season, the Oilers have to surrender a second round pick for Chiarelli and a 3rd round pick for McLellan in one of the next three drafts.

They were fired by the Bruins and Sharks and yet the Oilers still have to surrender draft picks for hiring them? Ridiculous.

I hope somebody hires Dallas Eakins this offseason.

I drive an HHR, I shared a room with 2 brothers. None of them are worth 7 figures. But I once got tickets to an NFL playoff game off StubHub. I don't mean to brag or anything but it was an aisle seat.
