2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs: All hail the Blackhawks, mudbutt (2 Viewers)

What is with the play-by-play man on NBC. Its like he feels he needs to add some color to his description of the play. If I hear how the player "feathered" a pass I'm going to gouge my eyes out.

I almost put the ESPN radio on while watching on mute. The radio announcer does a good play-by-play but can't stand the way he says wide - its sounds like he's saying whhhyyyyd.

Just an FYI, you're risking ####### up the Rangers juju by bashing Doc. That is all.

You don't understand what it means when a hockey player hoofed the puck out of the zone?

Oh and a couple weeks ago RN posted a link of the 150 or so verbs Doc used in place of "pass" recently. I joked that there was no way he went a game without saying "sashay" so I found it funny that someone in here mentioned that one last night. :lmao:

Patiently waiting for the Stubhub updates because that's what we're all here for anyways!
I'm more interested in seeing how much SH clears on this game alone. Game 7 of the Washington series they cleared just about $800K in fees based on the number of tickets moved and the average sale price. For one game of a second round playoff series.

you can buy a pretty nice watch with $800k

That figure was before tax, so...

Part of the reason why eBay bought them for $300+mm. You can get to 800k quickly when you're taking 25+% of the sales proceeds.

SH Update:

Median ticket price for game 7 SCF is currently $6,400. Tickets today for middle 115 sold for $6,700 (more than I paid for much better seats) and upper 101 for $4,700.

Unfortunately, I think Tampa is awesome and my confidence is lacking that this game ever happens. I thought Washington was a better team than Tampa at the beginning of this series and the Rangers would take it in 5 or 6, but the Bolts are really really good and game 7 is up for grabs. I think Bishop is going to play like a monster in game 7.

Also, over the last 27 years in the SCP, the SCF has the highest percentages of game 7's at 30%... Although 6 of the last 13 have gone to game 7. Interesting read from The Puck Report.

Over the past 27 postseasons since the 1987 expansion of all series to best-of-seven, a Game 7 has been played in 112 of the 405 series. Put another way, 27% or approximately every 1 in 3.6 playoff series have gone to seven games. The chart below describes Game 7s by year, noting the number and round in which a seventh game(s) occurred.

Breaking it down by round, the most Game 7s over the past 27 seasons on a percentage basis have occurred in the Stanley Cup Final (8/27 = 30%), with 6 of the past 13 Finals being decided by a seventh game. The Preliminary (62/216 = 29%), Quarterfinal (29/108 = 27%), and Semifinal (13/54 = 24%) rounds follow with a decreasing likelihood of a Game 7. In sum, the likelihood of a Game 7 in a NHL playoff series since 1987 is 1 in 3 for the Final and roughly 1 in 4 for all other rounds.
If we are looking back since the expansion of the SCP in 1987, the odds that the Rangers host a game 7 in the SCF currently sits around 15%.

they sure looked it. I posted this right after that next shift

Tampa sure went into quit mode quickly. I guess they haven't been watching the other series.
Maybe I'm just angry homer man but god that's ridiculous. How is a 2 goal deficit the end of the world to these guys (at home). That's the 4th time they've done that.

I got bored with that game after the meltdown, but wasn't he the guy who plowed into Bishop and basically caused the 3rd goal? Sounds like he's taking the blame by saying his mistake deflated the whole team.

It's like pulling teeth to get a series price from either of the two books I use. Most of the time, there's no action. :kicksrock:

Kane making the Ducks look stupid bad and then he or Toews scores. Need to see a slomo replay to see if Toews touched it before it went in.
