2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs: All hail the Blackhawks, mudbutt (2 Viewers)

6/17? when will they start dragging this out until September so we can roll right into the next season? I assume that's next.
The Bruins-Canucks Cup final was on a Wednesday night, as well (6/15). I remember because I barely slept before leaving for a road trip the next morning.

Well, I know the Rangers won the Cup on 6/14/94. So at this pace, being pushed one day every 7 years, it should reach September somewhere around 2525.

The Penguins asking for a draft pick from the Sabres for hiring Byslma is a joke. Compensation is you no longer have to pay the guy you fired a year ago.
Yes, that is bizarre. The Oilers have to give the Sharks a second-rounder for McLellan and the Bruins a third-rounder for Chiarelli.

Was talking goal song FTR. Rangers have the best one in the NHL.
goal song?

or do they have some type of theme song?
Quick googling reveals SI.com saying the Rangers have the 4th best goal song in the league.

#1? Chicago Blackhawks.

edit: Sportsnet Canada has the Rangers #2 behind Chicago. So close

From the "late, great" department, I still have "Brass Bonanza" as a ringtone for certain people on my phone -- and I never liked the Whalers.

Love that wejustscored site. I always wondered if you could set up a "blind" test of all 30 NHL goal horns and see how many we could get.

My 5 year old can get every one of them and loves the Whale song

ETA: fixed spelling

Cool site. Didn't realize Stars song was written by Pantera :headbang:

Ugh...thought I was in the clear. If the Rangers make it and it goes to 7, I,ll have to call in sick the night of the 17th. I thought it would have ended either Sat. or Sunday before it. The 17th and 18th are the only two nights I booked for work this month. They're really stretching it out.

Just buy some tickets for the game and resell them and you won't need to work for years.

Cup finals have been fairly consistant over the years. The 'Stars won the cup in game 6 on June 19th. 1999.
Average date of awarding of Stanley Cup1930s: April 11

1940s: April 14

1950s: April 17

1960s: April 27

1970s: May 17

1980s: May 23

1990s: June 9

2000s: June 11

No hockey tonight. Not even basketball. Just stupid ####ing baseball.

Gonna be a long few months until football.
This is a perfect "tonight we're gonna watch whatever YOU want" night for your significant other.

Bylsma hired by the Sabres. Giving up their 3rd round pick to the Penguins in 2016 draft as compensation, even though the Pens didn't make the Devils give them anything when they hired Shero.

NHL is really stupid sometimes.

EDIT: per McKenzie, the pick will be the Islanders but has a condition attached so will likely be the Canucks pick. Guess that's not as bad but still dumb.

EDIT: per Dreger, it's a 5-year deal. Just guessing $15MM?

Well sure it's going to be later now than it was in the 30's! But the 90's to '00's seen the shortest gain in average date, so my "over the years" (25) holds somewhat true.

The '90s also might have been the worst decade of Cup finals ever. The losing teams combined to win nine games in 10 years, including consecutive sweeps from 1995-98. The 1994 Rags-Canucks series was the only one to go 7.

By comparison, five of the nine finals in the 2000s went to seven games, and none were sweeps (two 4-1s, two 4-2s).

The 2010s so far have gone 4-2, 4-3, 4-2, 4-2 and 4-1 last year.

Wsop. Om8. start with 7500. Missed first two hours due late flight. Grind three hours from 6000 to 8800 chips. Boring. Lose first hand of Rd 6. 4900 chips. Go on 50 minute heater. On 90 minute dinner break with 29700.

Buddy of mine played in the Main Event 5-6 years ago. Did OK, but the highlight was sitting at the next table from Tom Dwan when he bet some kid $5k that the kid couldn't do 10 shots of tequila. Kid did it in 12 minutes, "durrrrr" paid him the $5k and then the kid got escorted out when he became a complete mess.

Speaking of messes. After the damage was done, a donk on coke raised with some horrible hands like 9763 and then hit the flop on them and took about 10000 in chips from me in 3 Hands. Finished with 17700. I suck against people drunk or on drugs. 914 started. 383 left. 117 get paid.

Hopefully, you make something of this so your entire weekend isn't a loss. Go Hawks! :D

Not sure how I am going to get through this day. Add in the fact that im going to but a new car and I'm a bundle of nerves.

The King is 4-0 in Game 7s at home and 15-3 in elimination games since 2012, posting a 1.47 goals-against average and .954 save percentage in those games.

Also tied for the record with 6 game 7 wins.

Go Bolts?

The key isn't going to even be Hank; it will be the defense. If they are sloppy in their own end, get lazy on clearing attempts, and have straight up brain farts like Kreider peeling off Johnson in front of the net in order to go into the corner, Hank could have the game of his life and still give up 2 or 3 goals in a losing effort. Thankfully it's an experienced group and they typically come with the same level of consistency and calm in these huge games.

I keep feeling like they're due for a stinker in a Game 7 but I know it doesn't really work like that. It's not original to say but they have to stay out of the box. Do that while keeping the pressure up and I have confidence this group can take care of business once again.

None of those were against this team. Doesn't really matter. Just like that whole they are 7-0 at MSG thing. Who cares? The better team will win tonight, phantom stats from years ago are just a confidence builder for fans who don't play.

Well, the stats do mean that he's a really, really damn good goalie. That's what's important and a big cog in the whole "the better team will win" decision.

You think the Bolts don't know about that string? They can say it has no bearing on the game, but you know its going to have some kind of mental impact - that and the no show in game six. Still going to be a coin-flip though.

I'm sure when a hockey player is deciding whether to shoot or pass, it crosses their mind what the goalie's elimination game record is.
