2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs: All hail the Blackhawks, mudbutt (1 Viewer)

I remember a few years ago coming in here with some blog I read (pretty sure hockey's future, love that site) asking if these bolts prospects were really this good. Rude and a few others were like yup, buckle up. Think that was when Syracuse won 29 straight.

Pretty cool to see all of them grow up right in front of you.

makes me wonder if keeping Kenny Holland and letting Stevie walk was the right move

Wait for Dr.D to chime in...........................
helps getting Stamkos and Hedman with a #1 and #2 overall picks in the draft. don't think Yzerman would have been able to do that in Detroit.
Well yea but Tyler, Kuch, Palat, etc.
lol, Stamkios is a top 5 player. Please don't defend BSS, he's Detroit sports talk radio NHL knowledge guy. Holland is widely considered not only one of the best gms in hockey, but in all of sports. When you make the playoffs 24 strait seasons, get 4 cups, 6 finals, and 10 conference finals appearances you don't get Steven Stamkos or Sidney Crosby. Nyquist and Tatar are not far off from Kucherov and Palat.

Holland also drafted Datsyuk, Kronwall, Zetterberg, Franzen, Howard, and Filppula. During that stretch Wings traded 5 first rounders away and their highest pick was 19th. Holland also has torched his contemporaries in the later rounds for guys who have eventually made the big club.

yzerman would tell you that if he had half the success Holland has had, he'll be a top 5 GM. You can't spell BSS without BS.
I don't even know half the people you're talking about. I know the Detroit GM does a great job from everything I've read. So does Yzerman. Think we can all agree on that.
You already know more about the Red Wings than sniffer does.Enjoy your win, I'll be backing the Yzermans in the finals.

So who am I rooting for tomorrow night?

Anaheim seems more physical (bad) and they have home ice (bad). However they lack the history that the Hawks have over the last few years (good). It's hard to be a new team beating a former champion IMO.

Chicago doesn't seem to be as physical and plays at a pace the Bolts love (good) and Tampa would have home ice. But Toews and Kane are ridiculous and I could see them carrying Chicago.

Seems tough. Go Hawks?

I would not want to play Chicago. You're a dog either way but I'll take the Bruce Boudreau team over #88

Yeah, no disrespect at all to the Ducks ... but you want to drive the stake into the Blackhawks.

Bolts were just the better team last night, wasn't even close. Rangers were flat out dominated. Can't blame it on refs, a lucky bounce, etc... Just the better team winning the game :kicksrock:

IDK what happened to the Rangers I've watched this year, but last night they looked slow, unorganized, & incapable of getting anything going. They played with no desperation at all either.

Without Hank, that easily would've been a 5-0 nothing loss.

Lightning were better

Sucks, but true.

To think they had a foot in the grave in that Detroit series and Tyler Johnson pulled them out and now on the brink of a cup.

Pretty cool story for their fans

I just think the Bolts were the younger faster team. Against any other team from the east, the Rangers probably win.

The 'you can't win a big game with Bishop' schtick was spread to guys at the NHL.
:lmao: no way
Let me clarify...it was thru me. I started it subtlety in Game 5, they thought it was funny, and they started using it by Game 7. They being the Consumer Products/Mkt guys. The Commish may be using it around the office by now.

Get it on a t-shirt and I'll buy your whole stock.

My friend was in NY for the game and saw MSL outside his hotel yesterday before the game. He asked him if he wanted to play golf with them tomorrow and apparently MSL wasn't impressed.

Jesus.

Not that it matters but I am rooting for the Hawks tonight. I want to go to game 1 this week and potentially 7, even if it means the bolts end up getting whooped along the way.

Question for the knowledgeable dudes

Would Edmonton be interested in a Talbot/Hagelin deal. And if you think they would, are any of the players they might give up on a potential Seguin, Kane, Towes type guy who can do it all on their own. The Rangers really need that and with zero first round picks for the next 30 years, this might be their only shot at a young stud.

*** I am basing this on talk from earlier in the year that said oil are not happy with all young kids. Maybe that has changed since then

One of the guys took a selfie with MSL yesterday right before the golf comment. I don't know him.
