Quarterback - $32

QB - Drew Brees - NO/5 - $25
QB - Sam Bradford - MIN/9 - $7

I love Brees and I love the Saints schedule this year, especially in weeks 14-16

Running Back - $80
RB - Christian McCaffrey - CAR/11 - $19
RB - Ameer Abdullah - DET/7 - $18
RB - Dalvin Cook - MIN/9 - $17
RB - Adrian Peterson - NO/5 - $16
RB - Kareem Hunt - KC/10 - $10

I usually spend less than $80 on running backs, opting for a bunch of cheaper options, but the mid-tiers have a lot of value this year, and I am not wasting money on a running back that probably won't ever score enough to count. I assume Hunt will be the highest owned player this year.

Wide Receiver - $61
WR - Terrelle Pryor - WAS/5 - $18
WR - Brandon Marshall - NYG/8 - $15
WR - Marvin Jones - DET/7 - $11
WR - Chris Hogan - NE/9 - $5
WR - Kenny Stills - MIA/11 - $5
WR - Kendall Wright - CHI/9 - $4
WR - Paul Richardson - SEA/6 - $3

I have strong opinions on all of these wide receivers at these price points, and there is potential for high end production; but the plan is to get most of my points for the flex spots from running back and preferably tight end.

Tight End - $64
TE - Rob Gronkowski - NE/9 - $27
TE - Greg Olsen - CAR/11 - $19
TE - Jimmy Graham - SEA/6 - $18

On the whole, I tried to aim for a lot of mid priced players. Gronk and Brees are my only two players at $20 or above. Like running back, I shied away from the cheap players who are unlikely to give me even one big week.

Kicker - $7
PK - Blair Walsh - SEA/6 - $3
PK - Greg Zuerlein - LAR/8 - $2
PK - Zane Gonzalez - CLE/9 - $2

Walsh is a step above the other $3 kickers and Zuerlien and Zane are the only $2 kickers.

Team Defense - $6
TD - Cleveland Browns - CLE/9 - $2
TD - Detroit Lions - DET/7 - $2
TD - New Orleans Saints - NO/5 - $2

For kicker and defense I prefer quantity over quality.

We share a lot of the same players and 5 k/d. But I took a different approach with the latest entry. I now, for the first time ever in this contest, have 30 players. Really there's only one or two I'm having significant doubts about and I don't like my week 9 with $75 on bye. But I've got enough good players playing that it could be a risk worth taking.  I took a lot cheap players I like as fliers, if a few work out it will be worth it.

The only two skill players I've had on every single entry are Hunt and Cohen. Rather wish Ware hadn't gotten injured yet as I agree, Hunt is going to be extremely popular now.

I've been basing a lot of my baseline lineups on Week 14-16 SOS. I'm not just in this to survive, I'm in it to win!

Down to 23 players and I don't think I'm changing (we'll see about that). Most I've ever spent at RB, and smallest team I've had since my first year of playing this.

QB: 2 for $28

RB: 4 for $99

WR: 8 for $71

TE: 3 for $38

K: 3 for $8

Def: 3 for $6

QB - Russell Wilson - SEA/6 - $20

TD - Philadelphia Eagles - PHI/10 - $5
TD - Los Angeles Rams - LAR/8 - $5
TD - Los Angeles Chargers - LAC/9 - $4

I think this is my final version. I might switch out Kelly, and a receiver to get another back. Any thoughts would be nice.

So, time to figure out my team.  I've intentionally gone dark until this past weekend to start building.  My current iteration is built thusly:

QB -- 3 -- $33

RB -- 6 -- $61

WR -- 9 -- $97

TE -- 3 -- $36

PK -- 3 -- $11

Def -- 3 -- $12

The proper number of PK and Def has been debated to death.  I like 3 of each, but I know many others prefer 2.  I feel like I've spent too much at WR and not enough at RB.  I could make a few changes and drop my WR to 8/$81 and bump my RB up to 7/$87, but that doesn't feel like the right call.  At this moment I have literally no "studs" at all.  My highest priced player is Keenan Allen at $21.

I always say I want to do this.....but every year, I end up with a very commonly owned team.  Is it because most of the people get a majority of their fantasy information from the same place?

That's probably it. I think I've reached information overload the past few years in fantasy football of all formats. I'm trying something a little different this year -- scaling back how much info I receive, even in "daily" NFL.

Might want to reconsider Tajae Sharpe.

maybe some brave sole in honor of 20-kicker guy will field a team just Bucs and Fins hoping to skate by in week one ans get all their byes done at once :)

Did the math - possible to field a team with every Buc and Fin listed plus the 9 most expensive and 2 cheapest kickers :excited:

Only my second iteration this year but, I'm sticking with it.

eta: Some of you have asked for a breakdown of thought processes vs. just listing a roster so, I'll give it a try. This entry was established prior to the news of the TB/MIA game shift.

QB - Cam Newton - CAR/11 - $15
QB - Andy Dalton - CIN/6 - $12
QB - Carson Wentz - PHI/10 - $11

My first run I only had 2 QB's. I'm sold on Wentz and Cam this year and I think Dalton is a great safety valve if either of the other 2 go down. Kept spending to a minimum I believe... $38 for all 3.

RB - David Johnson - ARI/8 - $39
RB - Jay Ajayi - MIA/1 - $26
RB - Kareem Hunt - KC/10 - $10
RB - Jamaal Williams - GB/8 - $7
RB - James Conner - PIT/9 - $5
RB - Wendell Smallwood - PHI/10 - $3
RB - Javorius Allen - BAL/10 - $2

Love Johnson and Ajayi. I expect Hunt and Williams to take over RB1 duties for their teams. Conner is a great play in case of Bell injury/susp. Smallwood at that price point is too good to pass up as I have a feeling he'll end up being the main back for the Eagles by mid-season or sooner. Allen is filler. $92 spent on 7 RB.

WR - A.J. Green - CIN/6 - $32
WR - DeVante Parker - MIA/1 - $14
WR - Taylor Gabriel - ATL/5 - $7
WR - Chris Hogan - NE/9 - $5
WR - Robby Anderson - NYJ/11 - $5
WR - Kenny Stills - MIA/1 - $5
WR - Torrey Smith - PHI/10 - $4
WR - Kenny Golladay - DET/7 - $3

Green is my only big ticket WR. Other years I've gone overboard on WR spending for top talent. Not this year. Decided to go with volume instead. 5 of 8 WR's are $5 or under. Hogan was always a value even before the Edelman injury. $75 on 8 WR's.

TE - Hunter Henry - LAC/9 - $14
TE - Charles Clay - BUF/6 - $8
TE - A.J. Derby - DEN/5 - $3

Hunter should see many red zone targets this year and Clay is literally the only receiver Taylor is comfortable with. I think Derby will become the pass catching TE for Denver and a reliable safety valve for Siemian all season. $25 on 3 TE.

PK - Brandon McManus - DEN/5 - $4
PK - Chris Boswell - PIT/9 - $4
PK - Adam Vinatieri - IND/11 - $4

3 quality kickers bound to get lots of attempts this year. $12 on 3 PK.

TD - Philadelphia Eagles - PHI/10 - $5
TD - Tennessee Titans - TEN/8 - $3

Come on. Both these D's are under appreciated heading into this season. $8 on 2 TD's.

Total: $250 on 26 players. Largest roster I've ever had in this tournament.

Good luck to all this year!!!!!

My final iteration.

QB - Dak Prescott - DAL/6 - $14
QB - Carson Wentz - PHI/10 - $11
QB - Brian Hoyer - SF/11 - $6
RB - Jay Ajayi - MIA/1 - $26
RB - Dalvin Cook - MIN/9 - $17
RB - Bilal Powell - NYJ/11 - $15
RB - Rob Kelley - WAS/5 - $10
RB - Kareem Hunt - KC/10 - $10
WR - Jordy Nelson - GB/8 - $31
WR - DeVante Parker - MIA/1 - $14
WR - Corey Coleman - CLE/9 - $10
WR - Rishard Matthews - TEN/8 - $10
WR - Ted Ginn - NO/5 - $9
WR - Cooper Kupp - LAR/8 - $5
WR - Kendall Wright - CHI/9 - $4
TE - Jimmy Graham - SEA/6 - $18
TE - Zach Ertz - PHI/10 - $13
TE - Austin Hooper - ATL/5 - $11
PK - Brandon McManus - DEN/5 - $4
PK - Caleb Sturgis - PHI/10 - $3
TD - New England Patriots - NE/9 - $6
TD - Dallas Cowboys - DAL/6 - $3

Love the cheap QBs this year.  Usually I only roster 2, but here I get 3 QBs for only $31.  Spend a lot on RBs this year.  Had to get Ajayi for $26 and have him every week after Week 1. Weeks 8 will be my toughest hurdle with 3 WRs including Jordy on bye.  Lots of great semi cheap and cheap WRs.

This was a tough task.  Lots of great options, but it was hard to assemble a team without significant Week 8 or Week 9 or Week 11 bye exposure.

On first pass I had 36 players, did not realize the cap was 30 as I never got close to it before.  Will have to upgrade a few spots.

Down to 23 players and I don't think I'm changing (we'll see about that). Most I've ever spent at RB, and smallest team I've had since my first year of playing this.

QB: 2 for $28

K: 3 for $8

Def: 3 for $6
My team has changed.  :D

I am down for some last minute discussion if anyone else wants in. Here is what I have please feel free to yell at me or whatever.

QB - Russell Wilson - SEA/6 - $20
QB - Jameis Winston - TB/1 - $17

Only going 2 because of the week 1 bye. I was going to go with Wentz and Hoyer or Goff

RB - Isaiah Crowell - CLE/9 - $22
RB - Christian McCaffrey - CAR/11 - $19
RB - Ameer Abdullah - DET/7 - $18
RB - Dalvin Cook - MIN/9 - $17
RB - Kareem Hunt - KC/10 - $10
RB - Charcandrick West - KC/10 - $3

I really like this group and wanted to get Ajayi, but as of right now I can't. I like the bye week mix ups

WR - DeVante Parker - MIA/1 - $14
WR - Pierre Garcon - SF/11 - $13
WR - Ted Ginn - NO/5 - $9
WR - Chris Hogan - NE/9 - $5
WR - Robby Anderson - NYJ/11 - $5
WR - Kendall Wright - CHI/9 - $4
WR - Marquise Goodwin - SF/11 - $3
WR - Nelson Agholor - PHI/10 - $3

At 1st week 11 looked like a problem, but I didn't have Goodwin in until after the news broke about the Dolphins and I honestly don't remember what 3 dollar receiver I had before.  With my team I am not expecting a lot of flex plays from here.

TE - Jimmy Graham - SEA/6 - $18
TE - Hunter Henry - LAC/9 - $14
TE - Zach Ertz - PHI/10 - $13

Love this group and that is why I only went with 3
PK - Matt Prater - DET/7 - $4
PK - Blair Walsh - SEA/6 - $3
PK - Greg Zuerlein - LAR/8 - $2

Love this group and the way the byes are stacked

TD - Philadelphia Eagles - PHI/10 - $5
TD - Los Angeles Rams - LAR/8 - $5
TD - Los Angeles Chargers - LAC/9 - $4

I really think the 5 dollar defenses are solid sleepers and think the Chargers were under priced, love the bye week set up too.

Anyone worried about the reverse though? 16 weeks without a bye could lead to banged up players towards the end when needed the most.

 more so in my real leagues. But in general yes. Like the Spartan Daisy said, all players are banged up, but very few players play 16 weeks straight. Like almost never. No evidence to support my assertion but that rest week has to help players. So I'd suspect if the bucs are playoff bound they'll rest Evans, djax and some others and especially Howard. Rookie year is tough enough with a week off.
