With the postponement of the MIA/TB game I changed up my approach. There were a lot of players I liked in week 9 and week 11 but having too many of them was always a problem.Really liked Ajayi, Doug Martin and Hyde at their prices but felt only one of them given their common bye was doable. Also liked Benjamin and Parker but once again had the same week 11 bye. When the postponement came out I didn't necessarily add more TB or MIA players but it really allowed me to add guys like Hyde and Benjamin. Also allowed me to add Goodwin as one of the cheap $3 WRs I liked

Wanted a mix of solid floor guys to give me consistent week to week scoring and high upside guys that could go off any given week. Not sure I achieved that but here it is:

QB - Jameis Winston - TB/1 - $17
QB - Sam Bradford - MIN/9 - $7

Had a combination of two of Stafford, Dalton and Palmer in just about every version I tried. Never really changed from that until the postponement of the MIA/TB game. With Winston's week 1 bye it gave you a QB without a bye so I felt he was a no-brainer at that point. Bradford, while not spectacular, hopefully gives me solid week to week numbers.

RB - Jay Ajayi - MIA/1 - $26
RB - Ty Montgomery - GB/8 - $21
RB - Carlos Hyde - SF/11 - $16
RB - Rob Kelley - WAS/5 - $10
RB - Kareem Hunt - KC/10 - $10
RB - Wendell Smallwood - PHI/10 - $3

Hoping Ajayi gives me top 5 numbers in the end. I haven't seen too many entries with Montgomery so far. IIIRC he had 3 top 3 finishes last year in the limited time at RB. Don't think he'll be consistent but hopefully he gives me enough of those top finishes to make up for the down weeks. Had Jordan Howard in just about every try as well until the postponement, which allowed me to add Hyde. Switched Howard out for Hyde and Kelley. Not sexy picks but hopefully give solid week to week numbers. Hunt was a no-brainer. Smallwood is a dart throw that he gets significant playing time over Blount.

WR - Kelvin Benjamin - CAR/11 - $17
WR - DeVante Parker - MIA/1 - $14
WR - John Brown - ARI/8 - $13
WR - DeSean Jackson - TB/1 - $13
WR - Ted Ginn - NO/5 - $9
WR - Cole Beasley - DAL/6 - $8
WR - Chris Hogan - NE/9 - $5
WR - Paul Richardson - SEA/6 - $3
WR - Marquise Goodwin - SF/11 - $3
WR - Kenny Golladay - DET/7 - $3

Once again the postponement allowed me to add Benjamin. Not sure if he returns to his old form this year but thought he'd be little owned and if he does could make a difference. Gotta take chances with a couple of guys. Felt the same about John Brown. Ginn won't be consistent but hopefully gives enough big weeks. Jackson and Beasley should give solid numbers from week to week. Surprised I haven't seen more entries with Beasley. Hogan was a no-brainer as well with Edelman's injury. Not sure if he will be the guy in NE but felt he would be widely owned and at $5 it wouldn't hurt. Goodwin should put up steady numbers. Hoping Richardson has more weeks like he had with Russell Wilson at the end of last season. Not expecting much from Golladay but hoping for a few TD games during others bye weeks.

TE - Kyle Rudolph - MIN/9 - $15
TE - Zach Ertz - PHI/10 - $13
TE - Martellus Bennett - GB/8 - $13

At 1.5 ppr for TEs wanted some very solid guys here. Rudolph should be consistent (hopefully). Ertz will be one of the higher owned TEs at his price. Not sure what to expect from Bennett. I suspect a bunch of weeks where he gives you a 3-40 weeks but has the potential to be much bigger.

PK - Blair Walsh - SEA/6 - $3
PK - Greg Zuerlein - LAR/8 - $2

Never spent a lot in the contest on kickers. Maybe that's my downfall but

TD - Tampa Bay Buccaneers - TB/1 - $4
TD - New Orleans Saints - NO/5 - $2

Waivered between (3) $2 defenses and decided it was worth sacrificing one for TB without a bye week.

Good luck all

Too late to use this info, but here are some of my favorite lightly owned (< 5% ownership) guys:

0.74%    TE Marcedes Lewis JAX $2 - Likely starting TE and it doesn't take much to be worth $2
0.77%    WR Laquon Treadwell MIN $5 - 1st rounder could step up in year 2; likely to at least be involved this year as their #3 WR
0.81%    TE Maxx Williams BAL $3 - Has a shot to be the TE on a team where the shell of Dennis Pitta caught 86 passes last year
0.90%    WR Jeremy Kerley NYJ $3 - A contender for snaps+targets in the Jets' wide open WR corps
1.16%    WR Markus Wheaton CHI $3 - The highest paid Bears' WR; who knows how things will shake out - he could wind up as their top WR
1.51%    WR ArDarius Stewart NYJ $3 - Also a contender for snaps+targets in the Jets' wide open WR corps
1.56%    WR John Ross CIN $6 - Top 10 pick could have a big role by the end of the year which is when it really counts
1.71%    WR Tyler Boyd CIN $3 - Had 600 receiving yards as a rookie; people are assuming his role will shrink but it also could grow
2.18%    WR Jaron Brown ARI $3 - Slots 2-4 in the ARI WR pecking order are up for grabs, and Palmer could bounce back
2.55%    WR Marqise Lee JAX $6 - Likely starting receiver
2.65%    WR Jermaine Kearse NYJ $3 - Another contender for snaps+targets in the Jets' wide open WR corps
2.78%    WR Jordan Matthews BUF $10 - Could be the go-to receiver in Buffalo
3.04%    WR Kenny Stills MIA $5 - Should have some big games as a deep threat for Cutler
3.14%    RB Kerwynn Williams ARI $2 - Could be a solid fantasy starter if DJ goes down
3.54%    RB Javorius Allen BAL $2 - Baltimore RB rotation is up in the air; could shake out in his favor
3.73%    WR Demaryius Thomas DEN  $24 - Relatively safe bet for 1000 yards and has a chance to bounce back for another big season
4.37%    RB Alvin Kamara NO $8 - Could get 5 rec/g in the Sproles role, or a bunch of carries if there's an AP/Ingram injury, and it's the late-season role that counts

I own 4 of these guys (Marcedes, Maxx, Markus, and ArDarius), and would probably have more if I had known these ownership levels in advance.

Buck Allen was a guy I really liked for that price.  Had I constructed my roster in a different way, he would surely have been on it.  But I have DJ, Bell, Ajayi and Hunt at RB so I couldn't really see a scenario in which I would end up using him.

5 rookie rb guy?
A little light on them actually. Loading up on rookie RB's has been my big theme this year. Did a FFPC draft yesterday and walked away with 4, that is close to my normal. ETA-make that 5 yesterday, keep forgetting about Marlon Mack.

Going to be best rookie RB class EVER. Kareem Hunt was just the first one to play, more coming.

QB 17 Winston  Think this is his breakout year to a top 3 QB, has all the weapons needed and week one buy was clincher

QB 10 Palmer Nothing Special but will be consistent

RB  39 Johnson ARI The best most consistent player last year and think he will be better, made possible by Hunt becoming a starter

RB 16 Hyde  The 8 weeks he scores a TD he will count, No competition and will get all the carries

RB 10 Hunt,

RR 8 Rawls, Think the best of Seattle back and a good value

RB 7 Lewis hoping hes the man 4 games

RB 5 Foreman, Need an injury for him to help but the one I love, my flier

WR 37 Brown, The best

WR 19 Hill Number one in KC big play Just waiting to happen

WR 18 Pryor someone has to catch the ball in WASH and think he will lead the team in receptions, I think he will be consistent

WR 5 Kupp Cant wait to watch him run routes at five a flier

WR 5 Hogan Value play and hope for a few good weeks

WR  3 Richardson #2 in Seattle and can fly, Traded Kerse to open spot up for him

WR 3 Agholor  Traded Matthews to open spot up for him

TE 13 Ertz Leading Receiver in Phil? I think so

TE13 Bennett This will be a reason im good or bad but Im betting on Rodgers using him

TE 7 Allen number 2 TE in NE always has value

K 3 Blair Walsh

 K 2 Greg Zuerlein

K 2 Zane Gonzalez

T4 tampa week one bye

T2 Cleveland

T2 Detroit

To win this ill need studs to be studs, my 10 plus player to be good and one or 2 fliers to have big seasons,

Been Playing for over 20 years and this is my favorite

Winston   $17

Cam         $15

I believe Winston will elevate his game this year, and Cam will somewhat bounce back.

McCaffrey  $19

Cook          $17

Hyde          $16

Hunt           $10

Buying into the rookie RB hype. Hyde seemed like a value, unless he gets hurt. No handcuff that I liked in SF though, and I think West, even at $3, is JAG and wouldn't carry the load if Hunt went down.

Green        $32

Evans         $29

Martavis      $16

Parker         $14

Kupp            $5

Godwin        $4

Richardson   $3

Always go with 2 stud WR + 2 mid WR then whatever presents value. Switched Evans in once the weeGk 1 bye presented itself. Obviously buying into the Parker love with Cutler, plus he also has week 1 bye. Taking a chance on Bryant, and Godwin is cheap Evans or DJ insurance as I like what I've seen on Hard Knocks.

Gronkowski     $27

Ertz                  $13

Not worried about Gronk yet. He had all-pro Berry draped all over him most of the game, and Brady found him in the endzone for an almost-perfect TD catch. Ertz is good value like others have mentioned. Decision to go with only two TE can be questionable...

Walsh         $4

Zuerlein      $2

Gonzalez   $2

I don't know how anyone can ignore the Seattle kicker at only $3, and wanted two other cheap options for diversity purposes.

Bucs        $4

Saints     $2

I almost always pick the wrong defenses anyway, so this year I'm choosing not to spend a lot of money here. Tampa with the early bye again influenced my decision.

Obviously going with small roster approach/swing for the fences. Only taking 4RB has worked for me in the past (when you pick the right 4, of course.) I probably should have had 3 mid range TE instead of targeting Gronk, but that's about the only buyers remorse I have after only one game played.

I want to wish all of you message boarders the best of luck!  Really enjoy reading your opinions as more of a casual player and lurker through the years.  Here is my dream team should good fortune bless me with a pass week 9.

Ben Roethlisberger ;Matthew Stafford

I'm all in on PIT offense this year. Ben represents good value. Paired with Stafford and his pass 1st & 2nd system.

LeVeon Bell ; Christian McCaffrey ; Kareem Hunt ; Jamaal Williams ; Rex Burkhead ; Wendell Smallwood

Figured Bell would be the less picked option of the big 2 due to the holdout.  By his own hand, he's playing for a contract this year and PIT won't be shy about giving him the opportunity to earn it. Count me in for the less owned back in a contest like this. Gut told me to go for Jamaal Williams. Sorry TY owners, but I'm looking for JW to supplant your boy this season.  Burkhead could be a stud or dud any given week. Not thrilled with it, but his upside was worth the price.

Michael Thomas ;Tyreek Hill ;Martavis Bryant ;Brandon Marshall ; Marvin Jones

Passed on AB seeing too much value in Bryant and trying not to be the STONE COLD LOCK OF THE WEEK come week 9.  Big fan of Thomas and feel Marshall and Jones represent outstanding value.  Enough that i passed on the slew of Popular long shot WR to get them.

Rob Gronkowski ; Evan Engram;Vance McDonald

High on Gronk and Engram.  Another Steeler??? Really??? I know I should have spent those last 4 McDonald gift certificates elsewhere, but the happy meal comes with a toy & the pick made me a little bit happier inside.

Ciao!

krupp (anything more counts)

prescott and Bradford (anything)

good week scared of my WR when my <5$ guys don't hit. pleased that I got nothing too crazy from Johnson or Bell that will help offset Hunt nicely.

Just an FYI, but for those with the premium memberships, you can go ahead and make the changes to your roster now.

Just a note to folka following the live scoring - looks like a player here or there is off - looks like Zuerlein and Dawson are lower than their actual score.

Corey Davis is still showing up as a 0 for me as well
Sorry guys.  I knew a few players weren't setup yet - I wasn't able to determine their NFL Id during preseason to be able to track their stats.  I planned to do that today during their games to male it seamless for everyone, but hurricane Irma chased me from my home yesterday and I've been unable to get online to monitor anything.

Looks like I won't get home until Tuesday at the earliest and will try to get these minor issues fixed before next week.  Also, I need to reset the system each week before the Thursday game... hopefully I'll be able to get to this as well before the Thursday game in week 2.

Again, really sorry about these issues and hopefully everything is running smoothly by week 2

No worries. Stay safe

No worries Steeler - you deal with your own stuff man!  No need at all to apologize - you are dealing with much more important stuff!

40pts from 8$ at WR lol not gonna happen every week.

40pts from 23$ TE (Hooper the TD machine)

Bell and Johnson no count $74

220 With Bradford -20 and Saints -15 to go tomorrow.

Nice warm up this week here's hoping for some consistancey and no Half season missed for Johnson!

After Sunday night.

QG66:

181.90 + (Cook -6.2/8.2) + (Gates - 6.2/8.2)

ConstruxBoy: 204.1 + (Brees - 19.5) +(Cook - 12.0/13.5) + (Ginn -12.0/13.5/20.6/21.3) + (Rudolph - 12.0/13.5/20.6/21.3) + (Saints - 2.0)

The QG entry had very lopsided scoring - Stafford Hunt Witten Ertz all over 20.  I am not confident.

The CB entry looks good.  Real good.

Hunt, Stafford, Cohen, Kupp all had solid performances. Should be enough to move me on, but losing David Johnson could be rough.

Dear Sweet Baby Jesus lyin' there in your ghost manger -

Thank you for so few entries this year (Of course, I was hoping for that when I loaded up on Bucs/Dolphins). There probably aren't many opportunities to survive a week with $102 on the bench.   Players with week 1 byes are underlined.

Jameis Winston, Sam Bradford - I actually had WInston even before the schedule change.  I think this is his year.  He just seems to "get it" and I like his weapons.  I wound up moving off Andy Dalton for Bradford to spend elsewhere on Bucs/Dolphins.  Looks like a smart move at the moment.  I took Bradford as a backup because he had the highest ceiling of anyone in his price range.
Le'Veon Bell, Jay Ajayi, Carlos Hyde, Wendell Smallwood, Charcandrick West - Picking up Ajayi cost me K Hunt, and I was hoping for a committee in KC with West.  I was feeling pretty good after that first fumble.  Now, not so much.  At any rate, I think I have three good starting RBs (I really like Hyde this year) and potential in Smallwood.
Julio Jones, Mike Evans, Kelvin Benjamin, Devante Parker, Kenny Golladay - I love this crew of receivers, and with Evans and Parker already having "served" their bye week, I won't lose more than one WR any week, with Julio's being week 5. Golladay has already paid dividends (again, I know).
Jimmy Graham, Julio Thomas - I need bounceback years for both of these guys.  I talked myself into thinking that the Gase/Cutler connection works for JT better than Blake Bortles did.  $26 was probably too much for this duo, so fingers crossed.
Carlos Santos, Chris Boswell, Greg Zuerlein - I dropped the cheap CLE D for the cheap Zuerlein.  Every time I roster two kickers in this contest, it seems that I lose one of them.  Didn't want to take that chance this year.  I feel like I'm solid at the PK position with three of them.
Tampa Bay, Miami - Biggest gamble here as I went week 1 with no D, but the numbers let me pass through this week.  Now I have two Ds every week with no bye concerns.

So as you can see below, when I drop out of this contest, it will be because of a crappy week or injuries (can't afford those with a short roster), not because of the byes.

Bye weeks remaining:
Week 5 - Julio
Week 6 - Graham
Week 7 -  Golladay
Week 8 - Zuerlein
Week 9 - Bradford, Bell, Boswell
Week 10 - Smallwood, West, Santos
Week 11 - Hyde, Benjamin

My best guess is that they live in an area where they're inelegant gable to win prizes, so, why not?

Residents of Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana, Vermont, or Washington may play and have their places noted in the standings, but are not eligible to win any prizes. This game is open to legal residents of all other states of the United States, and provinces of Canada. Persons residing in any other jurisdictions may enter (unless this contest or entry into this contest is prohibited by applicable local law), but will not be eligible to win any prizes.
Or they didn't read/understand the rules and thought all their players scored every week.

Well DJ destroys my squad.  Curious if I can make it to Week 6 with him.  That'll be my goal.   Only have Hunt, West, White, Burkhead, and Dion Lewis at RB.

2969 teams w/ DJ

186 teams w/ ARob

21 teams w/ both

I'm one of the DJ teams...  w/o him, probably won't last a very long time.

As a DJ owner, I might be able to survive a few weeks without him.  I have Hunt, Powell, Cook and Smallwood to cobble together some points at RB and am strong at TE and (I hope) WR, plus the first few weeks the cutline is traditionally not too high.  I'll need strong production from my Winston/Dalton combo (which isn't looking quite as good as it was before yesterday) and some luck.  If he isn't back by Week 9, I'm in a world of hurt.  If he is (and if I can survive until he gets back), it may be an opportunity to thin the herd.

I was toying with going DJ but went Bell instead. Not even sure that was a good move but at least I won't get knocked out early.

Lol well 3 RB to get me through till DJ returns!

plus side it they are Bell, Shady and Hunt but WR is a bit week if my 5$ and 3$ players don't keep dropping 20pt weeks lol.

Now we play the waiting game.... waiting game sucks let's play hungry hungry hippos!!!
