From the Bolts, Vegas will be picking from Cedric Paquette, JT Brown, Jason Garrison, Sustr the Hockey Playin' Giraffe, Brayden Coburn or Koekook

:lmao:

surprised the Habs wouldn't get sucked into Tyler Johnson for Sergachev if they wanted a C so badly.

Drouin is RFA. Potential stars coming off ELC usually get 5 or 6 x $6M, give or take $500K. So a range of $5.5M to $6.5M. No prob for MTL.

TB, on other hand, couldn't handle that type of Drouin contract. Helps their cap; allows them to protect an extra F in expansion...

...and TB gets the young defenceman it has been looking for. Trading Tyler Johnson wouldn't get them a Sergachev. It had to be Drouin.

Team to watch now is MIN. Lots of Jonas Brodin trade talk coming out of Twin Cities. I don't doubt Brodin would type of D MTL is targeting.

What's up with 2?  As you well know I am not a fashion guy but black jacket and blue pants?  I am color blind but not that color blind.  Did he tuck in his tie too?
Just talked to him and I was assured that it was a blue jacket and tie and that it was bad photography.

6 years, $33 million ($5.5MM/year) for Drouin in Montreal. That was fast.

Drouin's $5.5 million AAV would be fourth on #tblightning, behind Stamkos ($8.5), Hedman ($7.87), Callahan ($5.8). More than Kucherov (4.7)
that Kucherov contract is incredible value, but that Callahan deal sure isn't helping with their cap issues

It is what it is at this point. They could've let Tyler walk, little surprised they picked him over Drouin. Guess they like the return.

No matter what the cap situation is, they couldn't have paid drouin more than Kuch. That would've been an ugly locker room situation.

You Bolts guys will be fine with Sergachev as a top pair dman for the next ten years.
it's amazing what the trade value is for d-men in the league.

Taylor Hall gets you Adam Larsson

Jonathan Drouin gets you Mikhail Sergachev

Bolts have Stralman locked up for 2 more years, but Sergachev should be ready to take over by then.

Dman are a definite premium.

Stralman is not that young. I hope Serga is ready to go and be a top 4 by the all star break.

Been busy all week, just catching up now... See ya later Dan!

Also, son had a Father's Day breakfast at his school and they made an "all about my daddy" sign - under the "my daddy like to watch" section he writes, "baseball and the penguins are yellow & the rangers are blue, but we don't want the penguins to win."

My boy!

Duchene? Hearing rumbles Colorado wants to move him for a king's ransom. Sounds like MTL's kind of deal.
I think the kings were more interested in Landeskog...haha

Piecing together tweets it looks like Flyers send F Nick Cousins, G Merrick Madsen (Harvard) to Arizona for F Brendan Warren (UMichigan) and 2018 5th round pick.

Cousins couldn't crack lineup and Flyers adding Lindblom and Top 2 pick.

Flyers actually have a few goalie prospects and Madsen had 2 more years to sign.

Nathan Beaulieu traded to the Sabres for a 3rd round pick in 2017. #tvasports1:51 PM · Jun 17, 2017

Flames goalies struggled big time in the playoffs. But, is a 35 year old Smith at over $5mil a season the answer? I doubt it. Flames would have been better off waiting until after the expansion draft and making a deal with Vegas imo.
Seems odd they would settle on Smith today before all of the movement with the expansion draft.

Has Phaneuf been discussed in here yet? Who is going to trade for a 32 yr old Dman with a lot of miles on him that is under contract for $7 mil a season for the next 4 seasons?

Ottawa better be retaining about half his salary if they expect to move him. The supposed interest from the Kings, Oilers and Canadiens has to be agent driven BS.

Kings have a salary cap mess and an older roster, so I can't see them adding him. Chiarelli better not add him or the fans will riot. Who knows what the hell Bergevin is doing, maybe he ends up in Montréal.

Probably no one

Now he didn't have to waive his NMC, but he could have.  One more reason to appreciate Fleury. :towelwave:

Congrats to the Grand Rapids Griffins on their second Calder Cup in five years, Tyler Bertuzzi was the cat's meow.

Wings will protect 7-3-1 and it's doubtful they lose a goalie to Vegas.  Maybe Vegas would take Howard then flip him to someone else I suppose, otherwise they lose a depth forward.

Wings need to go into full rebuild mode now.  They have four 3rd round picks and should look to acquire more by trading guys like Tatar, Howard, and Helm if anyone will have them.  They will need to give Mantha and Larkin contracts next year, I'd keep Athanasiou and Oeullet now.   I wouldn't re-sign Tatar, let him go after this year.

They have three more years of Ericsson on the books, oof.  Mike Green is in his last year so maybe they can deal him at some point, but the Ericsson and Helm contracts are just horrible to have on the books.  They have four years of Zetterberg but he scored 68 points last year and is still probably their best defensive forward.  He should be able to play at a high level for at least the next two years and he's always a guy in perfect shape.

No reason to use any money on wandering veterans anymore. Time to play the kids and let them sink or swim.

Congrats too to Griffins HC Todd Nelson.  Great guy.

My son played in a tournament against Dan Girardis kid today. I felt bad for saying all those negative things in here when I was face to face with him checking our cell phones in the lot since there was no reception in the rink.

No need really.  Well unless they'll take Darren Helm, then I'd give them a 4th rounder or something.
They need to get out from under one of Ericsson or Helm's contracts.  That Helm deal was just atrocious.  Indefensible really.
