Nope. Looks like Bowman is going to way his options and probably sign by Monday.DocHolliday said:Raiders sign Bowman yet?
The phrase used was 'strong mutual interest' I believe.
Crazy how bad the Raiders are after such a good 2016 season. There is no doubt. This is a bad team.Ugly loss, entire team Top to bottom let this one get away.
These are the games you need to win as a team, let alone a contender - which we clearly aren’t.
I've been thinking about this lately. I think when Carr went down last season it really exposed a lot of the team's weaknesses and lack of all around talent. I think this team is still in rebuild mode, many of those wins last season could've gone either way.Crazy how bad the Raiders are after such a good 2016 season. There is no doubt. This is a bad team.
As a Giants fan, you don't need to tell me about inability of the D to cover TE's! I think it's been at least 10 years for us.Still can't cover a tight end.
Seriously how many years has it been since they shut down a TE? Probably since before Shannon Sharpe went for a 95 yard TD during the playoffs.
We weren't as good as our record last year. We won an insane amount of 1 score games. Now we're on the losing end.Crazy how bad the Raiders are after such a good 2016 season. There is no doubt. This is a bad team.
They definitively looked as if they were feeding Lynch early, and were using him most of the way through the third. This should have been a Lynch game and the play calling took him out of the game. Never let him get into a rhythm and how do you come out of halftime handing the ball to Washington?
Tom, I disagree with the bolded. After the first two drives, when Lynch was averaging over 6 ypc from Carr taking the ball under center, they went away from the formation and giving the ball to Lynch. Richard came in and they ran plays from the spread. Lynch was used very sparingly the remainder of the first half. Then he was on the field for a few plays from the same formation in the second half, with mixed results.Stompin' Tom Connors said:They definitively looked as if they were feeding Lynch early, and were using him most of the way through the third.
You are right, they should have used him more. Beast showed burst and that old school violent churn for more yards.
Good observations and thoughts.Tom, I disagree with the bolded. It was very strange to watch this unfold, I can only think of three reasonable reasons:
1. They are worried about Lynch wearing down
2. Lynch pulled himself out of the game
3. Dowling prefers to chuck the ball around the yard
#1 does not seem valid at this point because if they do not start winning they will be eliminated soon. #2 is plausible, but I don't see indications of the Lynch tapping out during the game. Thus, #3 seems the most logical reason.
I want to see the Raiders give the ball to Lynch at least 20 carries per game. If they do this, I think everything else will fall into place.
This is awesome news. Great move, Reggie, at a reasonable price. Even @massraider will approve of these terms.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. Luani looked like a ballhawk in the preseason. Not to mention, who was the player who recovered the onside kick by the Titans on the first play of the season? Yep Luani. Let him play!!!The fact that Shalom Luani hasn't even been sprinkled on on defense this season, after looking like an absolute baller throughout camp and preseason has me shaking my head.
The slant route the started it all....Chaka said:Still can't cover a tight end.

My only issue with buying into #3 (Dowling prefers to chuck the ball around the yard) is that the Raiders have seemed to abandon the long ball. Read somewhere (didn't take the time to confirm) that the Raiders didn't have a pass attempt over 20 yards yesterday?Tom, I disagree with the bolded. I was going to mention AP as well. The Cards certainly had no intention of saving AP for anything yesterday. They were going for a win. It feels like the Raiders have already forgotten how to win.Lynch is like Adrian Peterson. He needs to get the ball a lot and get into a rhythm and wear a defense down. In the second half the two yard runs become four yard runs and the four yard runs become six yard runs. The way he has been utilized has been extremely disjointed. Not to the same extent because he was almost not used at all, but it's a lot like the Saints with Peterson. If the Raiders weren't going to use Lynch properly then they shouldn't have signed him and just gone spread with Washington and Richard.
This week is probably going to be an ugly loss.At 2-4, with a laundry list of problems and under-performances... The Raiders face what could be a very ugly run of games...
- a monthly long stretch without being at home.
- KC (5-1) on a short week in a Thursday night prime time game.
- Travel to Buffalo (3-2) for an early game.
- Travel to Miami (3-2) for a Sunday night prime time game.
- Bye Week
- New England (4-2) in Mexico.
- Denver (3-2) at home.
- all 5 opponents over the next 6 currently have a winning record
The Raiders need to find a means to get back in the win column in a hurry. 16 points is not going to cut it against any of the teams. I think there is a real chance at a bye week coaching change to occur if the Raiders even go 1-2 over the next 3... especially if that one win is an ugly one in nature.
I think that that was by design. My guess is three reasons. 1) To protect Carr with short/quick passes so he didn't get sacked/hit. 2) He isn't 100% and throwing long has to hurt and he may not be effective with them right now as he is healing. 3) Keep Carr from getting hit.My only issue with buying into #3 (Dowling prefers to chuck the ball around the yard) is that the Raiders have seemed to abandon the long ball. If they roll over tonight, I'd like to see Del Rio punted asap. So dumb giving him that new contract after just one good year. :smdh:A loss tonight could end the season. 2-5 and 0-3 in the division would be a death sentence. I'll be looking early to see if the team comes out with passion, energy and fire.
Downing and Norton should go. I’d give Del Rio a little more rope (not much though, and dumping his coordinators puts him on notice) - he’s always been way more of a motivator than a tactician so he may be able to light a fire under this team with the right playcalling. If they roll over tonight, I'd like to see Del Rio punted asap. Elevate Pagano to interim HC and pull Norval Turner off the couch to advise Downing for the remainder of the season.
