He's not the only one.  But I did see that.  I couldn't tell if Freese was upset because he waited to say something until afterwards, or if he was upset that he turned on his former teammates.   Because it sounded like the latter.  And that kind of makes sense because I'm sure a lot of these guys view the "being a rat" worse than the sign stealing.  These guys spend so much time together that they're like family.  Or more than family.  So for a guy to rat out his family like that, I can't imagine he'll be well received by everyone in that A's clubhouse.  I know if I were there, I'd be careful what I said or did around him.  I may not end our friendship, but I'm guessing it would never be the same.

His original Tweet made it sound like he was upset he turned on his former teammates. His follow-up indicated that he believed Fiers should not have done so publicly, but he should have gone to MLB in private. If that's what he meant from his original Tweet, he worded it very poorly.

 
The Yankees can tell the Twins batters what pitches are coming all while the Twins players have needles sticking out of their asses and they still wouldn't beat the Yankees. I don't think Josh Donaldson would make a difference.

My favorite stat to quote regarding the Twins post season failure is that the U of MN Gopher football team has beaten Alabama more recently that the Twins have won a post season series.

 
I'm wondering how much deeper MLB will actually investigate the sign stealing.  Reports have said that up to 9 teams were named.  And other teams have been accused by others not in the report.  I feel like they hammer the Astros and the Sox because they are out in the public.  But they have no desire to find out what other teams are doing it.  Let the dust settle and hope that everyone is deterred from these penalties.

At least the Twins spent money - We're probably 150 million less then the Yanks.. MLB is a joke when it comes to payroll.

I agree. MLB is super pissed this came out into the public in my opinion and wishes they could’ve handled it privately. 

I do feel that if Boston knows anything about NY it will come out in the open.

But remember, MLB told the teams to shut the hell up about commenting.  The Sox could say the Yankees did it all they want, but I don't think MLB would do anything.  And if it somehow got leaked, I think both would be in big trouble.

I dunno. I don't see these teams ratting each other out. Remember a former teammate is the one who started this whole thing.

I don't know if Cora hates the Yankees. I never got that impression. Boston was just the team that employed him for two years. Houston before that. I don't think there is any loyalty beyond that. Now if the Yankees were the ones who started this whole investigation I can possibly see that but their own player did.

Like I said, I am utterly blown away he hasn't already been fired.  I feel for the guy, because, like Cora, he was a good guy.  Very well liked.  And now he's pretty much done with baseball.  So sad.

This part is crazy to me. If I was an owner I’d start calling other owners that I’m either chummy with or know that they side with me until we have enough guys that we go to the commish and make it clear that HE works for US and not the other way around and we’ll publicly comment all we want about another team cheating to win a title.

I got home from work yesterday and turned the TV on.  The MLB Network came on since I was watching that before I left for work and Mad Dog was on.  Never really watch him, but know about him.  He was turning red in the face screaming about how the Dodgers needed to shut the hell up and quit complaining.  And also how the Yankees are the team that was most affected by this.  He was running out of breath and turning purple.  :lol:

Well, I think it's more that most owners want this to be let go.  I'm sure if a majority of owners felt the way you say, yes, they would definitely overrule him.  But if you have a third of the teams "cheating", do you want the baseball headlines for the next year to be about that or do you want them to be about Spring Training and the upcoming season?  From a pride aspect, you'd want justice.  But as an owner, you know that doing that would end up hurting the bottom line for this year and maybe years to come.  

 
I feel like this is a pretty big deal and that the teams found guilty should be punished severely, unless the team I root for is one of those teams in which case this really isn’t that big of a deal and people are overreacting.

Would you really take pride in that if they granted you those titles?  I can't imagine that.  But if so, they should hold back to back parades celebrating both "victories."   :lmao:

Told one of my boys, who is a Nationals fan, that I'm making a home made 17-18 back to back Dodgers championship T-shirt, and that I named Clayton Kershaw back to back MVP behind his 0.00 ERA performances.

 
Astros and Springer avoid arbitration.  

Whoever takes over as GM, the first thing they need to do is sign him to a long term contract.

Unpopular opinion: if it hadn't been teams that won the Series doing it, we probably wouldn't have heard about it.

 
I'd like to see someone interview Fiers and ask him why he didn't say anything at the time and instead waited 2 years after it happened.
