When healthy he's an asset but the problem even coming out of college was his back issues. Apparently its a nerve issue too which is scary. His back issue might not allow him to play much longer in the NBA

Listen, we can just agree to disagree here. If LeBron James doesn't want a real fight, he shouldn't be hitting other guys in the face with clearly intended cheap shots.

LBJ decided to play stupid games and Beef Stew was ready and willing to make sure LeMao was going to win some stupid prizes. How you want to passive aggressively lay this all on Stewart is beyond me.

It doesn't seem like we'll ever see the peak Nuggets I thought we were getting after the Gordon trade last year. 

On a positive note, I've gotten to two of the recent Nuggets home games 45 minutes early and watched Murray warm up and get some reps in. The trainers have him doing a little bit of cutting and a lot of shooting from all over the court on the move. He's ended both sessions with nice windmill dunks. He looks pretty good. Unless the season falls apart, I bet we see him right around the AS break.

I'm still expecting the bottom to fall out, and I'm not expecting much vs. Miami on Wednesday, but if they HAVE progressed to the point where they can consistenly beat the bad teams that's a huge step forward.

Selecting Porter Jr. after he fell in the draft was a no-brainer.  He offered top pick upside and the Nuggets were in the position to gamble.  However, with his back issues and questionable statements at times in the media (among other things that made you wonder about him off-the-court), he struck me as the exact type of player to flip for a more stable long-term fit.  Earlier this offseason I even suggested Ben Simmons because I felt his defense and versatility would have been a great fit.

There are always GMs looking to add a high end offensive player with Porter's skill set, but with Jokic and Murray already locked in the Nuggets needed to capitalize on Porter's success and cash out.  Denver didn't find a GM looking to build around Porter's offensive skill set and now they're on the injury bandwagon with him.  That's going to be a tough ride as Denver hopes to add talent around the fringes of the roster (with little to no salary to give) now that Porter's been paid.

Maxey is such a good fit in the starting lineup. I suppose he would be an amazing sixth man if the trade Simmons for a stud. 
 

But he is one of the main reasons why the Sixers are content to let Simmons sit and not get paid. 
 

No Embiid. No Curry. No Tobias. No Green. No Simmons. No problem.

He’s very talented. He also pretends to be hurt. If he was hit with an elbow like that he would have had to be airlifted to the closest trauma center. 

To add insult to injury he doesn’t even speak on it. He sends AD out there to speak for him. Softest generation ever.

Completely agree. They should have forced him to take anger management classes on top of things. James punishment was basically right on in regards to what he deserved—-an ejection and a one game suspension. Stewarts reaction was exponentially worse imo.  If they are only going to give him two games—they should also force him to take anger management classes too.  His reaction was nothing short of disturbing.

The Murray news is good to hear, but the Porter news is crushing. I was excited  because this team had a window to maybe make a run and now I don’t see them as anything but a mid to lower round playoff team followed by an early exit. You just look at the landscape in the West and there is no path forward especially once GSW gets completely healthy. 

A lot of Porter’s contract is guaranteed money as well. You have to wonder if there is some injury clause or something.

What a joke this statement is. Lebron's intentional cheap shot caused this and he gets a slap on the wrist.

And the signing of Drummond was inspired, in its way. Although the post aint where it's at no mo, Embiid makes the Sixers a post-based team and now they dont have to change that when his knees are seized or whatever. Sixer fans kinda knew Maxey could be this - it's the hope of every team that drafts Kentucky kinda-PG-kinda-not guards.

and now Phily dont have to go direct-replace on Simmons. It can be a McCollum instead of a Lillard now, and a Hield or Ingram or Barrett come into play.

Whoever caused something does not completely absolve a player from their own reactionary conduct.   The league called the foul, the league ejected Lebron, and the league suspended Lebron for his dirty hit.  Nowhere in the leagues rules does it say that a player has a right to go ballistic and charge on the court several times—shoving and pushing his way through trainers, officials, and other players to retaliate to a cheap shot.  I assure you that the league did take into account that Stewart was the victim of a cheap shot. Had he gone that ballistic over something that was clearly incidental contact—I guarantee you the league suspends him for far longer.   He should send Adam Silver a “Thank You” card for only getting 2 games. 

 
i would like to know what lebron said to him that got him so wilded up like that honesty i think the nba should look at that and take that into account in a situation like that one but i agree they both were in the wrong and should have been calmer take that to the bank brohans

Lebron has a history of cheap shots. It's not this is the first time he did it. It's just another example of the NBA bowing down to him.

If the roles were reversed Lebron still gets one game and Stewart still gets 2 games.

Both Stewart and Jokic responded in a dirty fashion.  Jokic was not “defending” himself.  He got fouled hard and cheaply—and Morris was walking away. Jokic was no longer in danger and in need of “defending himself”.  He as a larger man hit a guy whose back was completely to him—which is the epitome of a cheap shot.  If he didn’t want it to be a cheap shot—he should have tapped Morris on the shoulder—and once he turned around—then decked him.    In both of the Jokic and Stewart situations—the refs blew whistles and flagrants/ejections were coming for the instigating players.  Neither Jokic and Stewart were forced to “defend” themselves as the officials were well on their way to doing that.

I have thought about this and conclude you are incorrect.   Damned be the consequences ...  I'm fighting back.  Even moreso if it's my profession.  Like if a pitcher tried to hit me intentionally.  I'm going after them.  Or a hockey guy blindsides me with a cheap shot.  No way I'm laying down and letting them get away with a piddly foul call or warning.  I'm making sure they don't do it again.  TIA.

Yeah, I've been curious as well.  I'm going with "Stop being a b...."

 
I think the NBA likes this to a point. All the comments about players being soft, taking planned rest days and all the touch fouls and flops are noticed by the league. I think a little aggression--especially when it is a big name player--really brings attention (which equals ratings). 

Now I am not saying they want to go back to the 70's or Detroit Bad Boys days, but I don't think the league minds a little scuffle now and then. The proof of that is reflected in the punishments that are being handed out. If they wanted to send a message to cut it out, it would have been a ten-game suspension.

he usually has a lot to say about everything else and enjoys expressing his opinions on almost everything.... apparently about everything but his transgressions....and yet the suck up media will give him a hall pass and let him off the hook while he cowers and hides in the corner....can't wait for the eventual interview where he dismisses it and says something like "the past is the past, I'm moving on"....

Someone is always more desperate.  Maxey's play makes the Sixers more flexible too -- instead of a need to replace point guard, they can choose to upgrade there, or really go for a 3-D Wing that can also create their own shot.  Brandon Ingram?

Largest halftime lead in franchise history at 77-36. Up by 49 going into the 4th quarter.  Some friends of mine were there - started to feel a bit sorry for them but the silver lining is they witnessed history!

You realize that by saying “damned be the consequences”—you are actually agreeing with me, right?  I understand why Stewart was upset as a man who got cheap shotted. If he chose to go ballistic—then so be it—but he also has to accept the punishment and consequences of it.   What I do not like—is the notion that Stewart is some “victim” of the punishment or consequences.  Every NBA player knows you do not react that way and expect no consequences.

Exactly.  This is not an exact analogy, but it would be like if someone cut you off in traffic by being carless and you decide to get road rage and try to run them off the road...repeatedly.  Just because the guy cut you off and started it does not excuse your rage and escalating the situation far more than necessary.  

 
Fun stat... through less than one quarter of the 2021-22 season, a total of 21 players have played more minutes than Udonis Haslem has in the last seven seasons COMBINED. Nikola Jokic played as many minutes in one playoff game in 2019 as Haslem has played since that date. He's been on the Heat's roster steady since 2003.

You wouldn't have gotten much fight from Sixers fans as he was another of those "sexy names" being talked about during their tanking of getting. I think the quotes to the media would've turned some fans off but I think most wouldn't have been upset with trade.

If I remember correctly the school he founded in his hometown he agreed to fund the whole construction but stuck the bill on taxpayers too or something similar where the taxpayers were told one thing and got left with a bill for it instead. I've also heard he's fake with the charity stuff. Similar to the people who volunteer at churches and fundraising for them for the tax write offs. I've had friends who would say "I'm not really a christ follower at all. I just do these things for the great tax write offs and it's how can afford more cool ####." One of these guys makes over 6 figures a year, has a summer home in MIA and has a third house in the Bahamas. In similar fashion Lebron does these charity events to look good and tax write offs. He used the whole "The Decision" not for the charity but to boost his ego. What's worse is he's said when asked if he'd do it differently he said no.

Gonna guess but I'm sure like most of these players he used some foul language and dropped an N Bomb with a "gga" at the end. Maybe talked about the dudes sister or momma. Not say Lebron is racist or anything but if people really heard how some of these guys talk to each other on the court, on a football field etc they'd want every player canceled. We could ask Joakim Noah what Lebron may have said given those two had their issues in the past. Lebron is one of the biggest trash talkers in the league similar to Kobe and MJ. Difference is both those guys admitted they were and when they got it back they took it in stride. Lebron cries about it and acts like some victim.

If they wanted more aggression stop calling all the weak fouls and flopping. Start Giving guys tech's for flopping like Harden and Lebron etc. They keep calling fouls for a player face guarding a guy and not touching them.

If they wanted Ingram should've just drafted him over Simmons like I was yelling to 76ers fans 5 yrs ago. Solves a lot of problems today.
